Posted on Fri Sep 10th, 2021 @ 1:31pm by General Ranik Solusar & Lieutenant Commander Elizabeth Yamaguchi-Solusar & Post Captain Jessica Solusar & Lieutenant Commander Kameron "Foehammer" Solusar-Yamaguchi

Mission: Mission 111: The Sorrows of Night
Location: Various Locations - Starbase Vanguard
Timeline: 1510Hrs - October 24th, 2393

General Ranik Solusar opened his mouth to say something when the bedroom door opened. Out came a heavily pregnant female wearing a dressing gown tied about her waist with a cloth belt. "I apologize if we work you, Beth?"

Lt Commander Elizabeth Yamaguchi-Solusar blinked away sleep as she regarded the three people in the room. One of them being her spouse, the other two were his parents. "Mmm... No... No... It's fine." Yamaguchi-Solusar moved and then she sat down next to her husband as Jessica regarded her. "Are you alright honey?" She asked of her daughter in law, she managed to conceal her shock at Elizabeth's apperance. The pregnant woman looked emaciated, exhausted and downright neglected.

"Well... I've slept better... and worse... I feel a little better... But I'm always tired..." Elizabeth answered. "Sorry I look like such a fright," she commented. "I usually take more care with my appearance," she added.

Jessica Solusar nodded her head. "You have all of the signs of Chronic fatigue syndrome but you do have an underlying medical cause. You have been overworked... I am... Not impressed with the medical staff on the Starbase." she wanted to scream at the top of her lungs but her self control won out. Jessica Solusar was nothing but predictable. She was a slave to the system that Starfleet had built.

"Galiaan Fordring is already working on the issue..." Yamaguchi-Solusar answered with a nod of her head.

"That's good to know," Ranik commented as he regarded Beth. "If you want, we can leave and come back later?"

"No," Elizabeth answered quietly. "I got some sleep. I'm so used to having a demanding infant in the house... With Grandma Rachael looking after Robert... and all the others who want turns babysitting. I'll be suprised if I ever get my son back." she added, her sense of humour slowly returning. "I'm still waiting for the ransom note but then... The day is young after all."

Kameron regarded his spouse, he knew that Robert was a very well behaved child and while he had been told as much, he knew that he had neglected his own various relations. One of his sisters wouldn't even talk to him but another had no issues. Kam was on talking terms with two of his brothers and there was no helping James since he was no longer a part of the mortal realm.

Elizabeth regarded her husband. She reached her hands up and over her head as she began to quickly pull her long mane of hair into a simple ponytail, it would do in keeping her hair in line as she raised an eyebrow. "Still... I am dealing with my present situation as best as I can... I fully expect Kadian Paris to sideline me tomorrow... If she doesn't then I will demand that she do so." she commented. "I'll ask nicely but I will be prepared to use more forceful language that she does so... Failing that then I will use alternative forms of persuasion." Elizabeth then shrugged as if to say that the matter was of no concern to her.

Kameron paused as he sighed. "Kadian isn't that ignorant. She will sideline you. Remember what happened the last time you two got into it?"

"It was worse than that time when Siaxx and I got into that screaming match," Elizabeth answered. "That little Bolian is always unhappy. But I suspect that's because she can't enjoy sex with her husband like she used to do. Before she became pregnant I mean."

Jessica regarded her pregnant daughter-in-law. "Beth. Let me make dinner for you guys tonight. At least... Give me a chance." It was only after she had said her piece that she realized that she had sounded like something other than the mother who wished to reconnect with her son, she sounded like something who was desperate rather than someone who was cool, calm and collected at all times.

"Sure Jess..." Elizabeth answered quietly, she knew what Kam's mother wanted and thus. Elizabeth would not deny her this chance to try to reconnect with her son. She wanted to see if this woman was worth the effort. She already knew that this woman was no Torilla Yamaguchi but she would still let her have a chance all the same.

"Beth, Kam... How about you two let me cook dinner for you both tonight...?" Jessica commented quietly. "It'll give you both a break from the demands of cooking and cleaning..."

"Sure," Elizabeth answered for both her and Kameron.

"Do either of you have any special preferences?" Jessica asked of them both.

"Something that will make me remember this meal forever.?" Elizabeth answered.

"Sweedish meatballs mom," Kameron answered. "Iv;e been avoiding that dish for years now..."

"Sweedish meatballs and pasta it is..." Jessica answered. She recalled that this was Kam's favoured dish growing up and she knew why he had selected that dish for tonight's meal. Thus she would make this dish as she rose to her feet. "I'll get started as this does take a while." and with that, she went to work on making dinner.
