Azimuth - Part Two

Mission: Mission 98: Building Our New Home
Location: Various Locations - Starbase Vanguard
Timeline: 1015Hrs - October 20th, 2393

The doors to her home opened at her approach as Lt Commander Jeela Lurae entered her quarters. Gabrielle regarded her mother as she was feeling unwell, she had stayed home from school on this particular day. "You okay mom?" the teenaged girl inquired of her.

"I'm alright," Jeela answered in a soft tone of voice. "Where is everyone?" Jeela looked around, it was oddly quiet.

"They all went to school. I just put Ethel down for a nap and I was going to do some schoolwork in the den." Gabrielle explained in a gentle tone of voice. She was referring to her usual duties of being someone else's babysitter. Ethal was the youngest child of a family friend who was presently on sabbatical.

"Yes, that sounds like a great idea Gabe... Getting an education is a pain even when you're sick... But if you went back to bed, I would not complain or protest... In fact, I would encourage you to go get some sleep..." Jeela smiled at her eldest, she reminded her so much of her husband at times, it was almost painful.

"Okay," Gabe answered. "Call me, if you need me." and with that, Gabrielle padded off into the den. Jeela picked up a PADD, then she called up her to-do list as she resolved to get started on the things she needed to handle. She went over to the replicator and ordered herself something to drink. She then moved over to the sofa so she could start, beverage in hand.

The doors parted and in walked Captain Oberon Donos. "Ahh..." he sighed. "I am here." He told Jeela Lurae before setting down his travel bags at the door.

Jeela missed the sound of the door opening but when he announced himself, she turned her head. "Oberon," she said quietly. She turned and went over to him. "Mmmm," she added as she looked up at him before she grabbed his shirtfront, pulling him down to her level as she was a couple of inches shorter then he, himself was, she kissed him rather passionately on the lips. "Mmm." she smiled. "I've missed you," Jeela commented before she hungrily kissed him a second time.

Donos simply smiled while be enjoyed this moment with his long-neglected spouse. "I missed you as well. I hope the children are doing well also?"

Gabrielle poked her head around the corner in silence. She had heard the commotion so she went to investigate, she smiled as she noted that mom was with dad. She did not need to be a pest so she withdrew in silence.

Jeela grinned up at him. "They are well. Except for Gabe. She's home from school with a stomach bug. I think the chilli we had last night was too much for her. She's presently in the study doing schoolwork and babysitting." she explained.

"Gabe is sick and she's babysitting?" Donos raised an eyebrow. "She should be asleep, taking care of herself and she's looking after someone else's kids... I'm not sure if she's being reckless or someone else is being an asshole."

"She said she was able to do it, I decided not to argue with her on the matter," Jeela explained with a gentle smile. "So... How long before you leave again?"

"I'm not," Donos commented. "I'm assigned to command the USS Rampart, assigned to Admiral Lasky's command I believe."

Jeela suddenly smiled. "So you'll be home often then.?" the Bajoran woman inquired.

"Yes," Donos answered before he turned. He moved into his study. "Hey honey." he greeted his eldest who leapt out of the chair she had been sitting in. "Dad!" she greeted him with a big hug. "It's great to see you," she added.

"Likewise honey... I'm expecting a call from the Starbase Executive Officer's Yeoman in the next forty minutes or so. I need to take a shower and change. Would you handle it if needed?"

"Sure. I can do that." Gabe answered with a wide smile. "Go have fun with mom, she needs your love and attention," she added as if she was confessing a great secret that was to be kept between them both.

"Lovely," Donos answered in a deadpan tone of voice. "I will handle your mom then. Keep an eye on things out here would ya?"

"You got it... and Dad. The replicator glitch has been fixed now. So No more Chilli for me."

"You don't look so good. Was it the chilli?" Donos asked.

"Yeah. I'll go to bed after I make the call for you. I'm expecting Ethel's mom in about an hour or so." Gabe answered. "Anyway. Go settle in, I got this."

Donos gently hugged his daughter again before he collected his bags from the door. Jeela followed him into the bedroom. She locked the door behind them both. "How long do you have?"

"About an hour before Captain Dvald-Vaxx's yeoman comes to call on me for a guided tour of the base," Donos explained evenly as he slowly slipped out of his uniform. He regarded his spouse as she was doing the same. Within moments both were wearing nothing. "So... Shower now or after?" He knew what his spouse wanted, she knew what he wanted too and she wanted to make him walk funny for a week.

"During." Jeela grinned at her husband. "Come on." and with that, she turned and led him into the bathroom in silence.
