"Korelii, Doctor Dvald here believes she has a cure to your medical issues... But she needs to use it on you." Hague explained why she was presently sitting before him and the Bolian woman next to him.
Korelii slowly lifted her head, she was doing this with a great deal of effort. "Doctor... When I got out of bed today. I fully expected to not live much longer...
My species is dying and so am I..." Korelii whispered. "Tell me of this cure..."
Dvald knew she was dealing with a woman whose temper could flare up at any time, she also knew that timing was critical here. "Commodore, we requested several DNA samples from you, which we used to make a cure specific to you. A broad-based variation is already in the works... But you were considered priority one... My guys have been working around the clock for the better part of a month but... It's untested... and due to the lack of donors... I'm sorry.."
"Don't be Doctor. Your efforts are to be commended, my siblings and their families are alive and well because of you. My children face these same issues as I do at present, except theirs can be mitigated with their father's DNA..." Korelii coughed softly. "What will this cure do to me?"
"It is an anti-viral agent. which acts as an inoculant but what it will do is go in and rewrite for DNA codes to conform to its new programming... More or less I am formatting a computer system and uploading new instructions... It'll change aspects of your DNA... But it hopefully will bring your body back to a healthy balance... and it will cure your present issues... The medical staff can tend to the other issues after the underlying cause of all of your issues has been resolved."
"You make this sound worse then it actually is..." Korelii whispered, as she attempted to brush form hair out of her eyes, which looked almost opaque due to the sight issues she was dealing with. "My body fell apart young lady... I am dying and I know it... So... Let me see if I got all of this correctly... You need a living, breathing test victim to use this drug on... and see if it works..."
Dvald winced, she didn't like something the other woman had said. "I wouldn't use the term 'victim'." she admitted.
"A poor choice of wording... but it's still true though..."
"Yes... Yes, it is..." Dvald paused. "Will you try it?" she pressed.
"Yes..." Korelii paused. "What are the side effects...?" the crippled Halanan inquired further.
"Considerable, your body has already been through an incredible ordeal. Your sight will need extra assistance to return. As will your other issues... This cure won't address those... But you will experience headaches, nausea, dizzy spells, and lack of appetite... All will be due to your mind being reset... Your body's cells are running riot over each other... This will cure that issue alone... The rest can be tended to by Doctor Hague and his staff..."
"Do it." Korelii whispered softly. "If it fails then I will have the knowledge that enough people cared about my wellbeing to attempt such feats of character for me... I feel honored actually."
The nurse came back as she held a hypo in her hands. "Its calibrated for you Doctor, six doses... The Commodore will need all six for this to be effective." the human female slowly smiled. "But we'll know about one minute or so after you administer the first dose..." the human female clarified for the record.
"Excellent work nurse. Thank you for your efforts..." Dvald answered with a gentle smile. "Help me with this please?" she asked the nurse, who technically didn't need to do anything but she knew why she was being asked.
The nurse drew her tricorder from her kit. "I am ready... You can proceed when you're ready Doctor."
"Korelii...?" Dvald commented. "Any final words?" the comely Bolian inquired.
"Yes... When this is done... I want to take you to bed and have my way with you." Korelii whimpered softly.
Dvald smiled as she gently administered the cure, with a soft snap-hissing sound, the medication went work almost instantly. Korelii hissed softly as she groaned loudly. "Oh... wow, you never said anything about a tingling sensation..."
"That's because I had no idea what this would do to you."
"I can feel my legs... I can actually feel my extremities again..." Korelii paused. "Wow... I feel like someone held me down and beat the crap out of me..." she groaned softly.
Dvald smiled. "I think its working."
"Oh, it's working alright." the nurse agreed. "Blood pressure has already increased by twenty percent, as has normal blood flow to the Commodores limbs..." as she smiled. "Go ahead and administer the second dose..." she added, Dvald smiled as she did so.
