Mission:
Mission 114: Be All My Sins Remember'd
Location: Various Locations - USS Hermes
Timeline: 1730Hrs - October 27th, 2393
The sickbay doors parted at her approach, as two large icebergs breaking up under the summer sun, as the tall Bolian female entered sickbay. Dvald slowed to a halt as she regarded the older-looking female that was presently undergoing a physical. It also looked like she was having a hard time presently pushing some of the weights. To Dvald's practiced eye, the older female looked to be in very poor shape as she frowned.
William Hague turned to look at the tall and comely Bolian female. "Doctor. What can I do for you?" he inquired of her.
"Its what I can do for you," Dvald commented before she indicated McKnight with her head. "How is she?" she added.
"Let's step into my office..." Hague answered. A moment later the two were sitting in the man's office as Hague sat down in one of the chairs in front of his desk, rather than sitting down behind his desk as Dvald had expected. "So what can you do for me...?" he sighed softly.
"How is she?" Dvald inquired. "Korelii McKnight, I mean..." she added for clarification.
Hague regarded her. "She seems to have a wasting disease, I've never seen anything like it before..." he paused. "It's progressing quickly and while I can keep it at bay, it's taxing her and... It's wearing her down..." he shook his head. "I've never seen anything like this... I don't know where she got it and I can't stop it."
Dvald wanted to cry, she had heard tales of people who were doomed to lose battles before, she had mourned for the lost, the beaten, and the damned. "It's worse than that Doctor," she explained, as she whimpered softly. "Korelii doesn't have a wasting disease... She has a DNA-related malady due to her being a Halanan augment." Dvald explained. "My guys did some work and we have come up with what we believe to be a cure."
Hague paused. "Wait... say all that again to me, slowly..." he paused as he was clearly having issues processing all of this.
"What you had about Korelii's condition was completely wrong," Dvald commented. "Her issue is much worse... It came from within, her body saying fuck you, fuck, you and fuck you." she clarified.
Hague nodded. "So... Her augmentations caused her to have issues... Which would also explain she's not compatible with Torilla..." she explained. "However, the good news is that my guys were able to obtain some information from... Shall we say, a reliable source and we were able to make a general cure for these maladies affecting Korelii and her entire species." Dvald paused. "The fact that Korelii is an augment muddies the picture somewhat, I am confident that the cure we've made will resolve her issues..."
"Oh... Well, it's better then what I have..." Hague explained. "Let's call her in and you can present your case..." he paused. "Do you have the information on this cure so I can review it?"
Dvald listed the bag she had brought with her, she produced a PADD with the information upon it which she then handed to him. Hague accepted it in silence as he rose to his feet. "Nurse...?" Hague called for one of his support people to come over and see him.
A young female who looked human came over. "Doctor.?" she inquired as to why he wanted her, she had a feeling she already knew but maybe he would surprise her.
"Have the Commodore finish whatever she's doing and then bring her to me please..." Hague commented evenly. "I will then ask you to make this for me when you bring her here..." he added.
"Right away Doctor." The younger female answered before she turned and moved off, most would have seen what he had said as an insult, arrogance, or condescending but she saw it as him wanting to cover several bases. She put the words he had said out of her mind and went about following his instructions. Meanwhile, he lifted the PADD to his face while he began reading.
A few minutes later, Hague regarded the Bolian before him. "This is ingenious..." He commented with a nod of his head.
"Will you allow me to test it on Korelii?" Dvald inquired. "I need a test victim to use it on, otherwise I got nothing... I have nobody else to test it on." the Bolian explained.
Hague nodded his head. "I will... Provided she also signs off on it. I won't force something pon my patient, even to save her life..."
"I understand." Dvald knew where he was coming from and she agreed with what he was saying.
There was a soft coughing sound from the doorway as a rather debilitated-looking Korelii McKnight, who was being supported by the nurse in question. Hague handed the nurse the PADD as he gently took over supporting the Commodore before he gently lowered her into a seat.
