Mission:
Mission 94: Shattered Shields and Crack'd Swords
Location: Various Locations - Starbase 12
Timeline: 1000Hrs - 29th July 2392
Fleet Admiral April Yamaguchi was tired, she looked like she had not been sleeping well and the truth was worse, the tall woman sighed as she sipped her drink. "Fuck I need a vacation." as she shifted her attention so she was looking down at the baby bump before her.
Yamaguchi felt a wave of pain wash through her, she groaned softly as she felt something within her move. "Okay okay.." she muttered to herself. "I'm going, I'm going.." she added as she rose to her feet and went into the small bathroom that was attached to her office.
As April went about relieving herself, she noticed that she was taking a long time to pee and the color was clear rather than the usual color of urine and it didn't smell either.
"So... It has come at last," Yamaguchi commented with a soft sigh. "Yamaguchi to Hospital?" she inquired after the heavily pregnant female tapped her combadge.
"Sector General here Admiral." came the response. "Front Desk... What can we do for you, Admiral?"
"Its time guys... my water just broke," Yamaguchi explained in quiet and soft tones as to why she was calling this fine morning.
"Understood... Stand by for transport Admiral. While we get things set up for you down here." came the response.
Meanwhile in the front desk area of Sector General. Lieutenant Ya'tek-Hor'en Zora who was one of the low ranking doctors assigned to the starbase was busy preparing that things were ready for the Admiral to deliver her children. The shorter then average Bajoran female stood in at about 5'1 and weighed in at about a hundred pounds, soaking wet, she had shoulder-length blonde hair, she was tanned and had bright blue eyes. In short, many men would desire to have this female and many would not go rewarded as she tended to keep to herself.
The Bajoran held up a PADD. "Yes.. we're good. Go ahead and beam in the Admiral now," she said to the people that she was working with.
"Energizing." and moments later April Yamaguchi appeared before them, the medics ushered the large female into a wheelchair before they carted her off to the designated birthing room that had been prepared for this operation a week in advance.
Ya'tek-Hor'en nodded to the guys on the front deck. "Contact any family the Admiral has and alert them to the situation."
"Aye Lieutenant, We'll handle it." the Petty Officer at the desk smiled as the young human male went to carry out the request made of him.
Sometime later as April faced the wrath of labor, her husband beside her. Ya'tek-Hor'en came back to check on her, there was a nurse keeping both eyes on Yamaguchi as she was in pain trying to deliver her infant. "You're doing wonderfully April, Keep breathing!" Ya'tek-Hor'en instructed her, smiling as consolingly as she knew how while monitoring the situation. She saw the vitals of two children on a nearby monitor; they were strong but that was to be expected for nine months before birth. "You're almost through it!"
Yamaguchi's only reply was a half moan and a half scream of pain as she pushed, she was only focusing on two things, her breathing and her pushing, she sucked in a lungful of air and she breathed out as the next contraction hit her like a Tsunami striking a space scraper, It lasted for some time, but finally, she could hear screaming as her first child was born.
"Braden." April panted softly.
One of the nurses gently handled Braden as she severed his connection to his mother while April gathered the last of her energy and strength before she gritted her teeth, then she gently but firmly pushed her daughter out of her body. "Congratulations Admiral... It's a girl."
"Haiyan," April responded in a soft tone, while Franklin gently brushed her hair out of her eyes. "Hey.."
"You... You made it?" Yamaguchi responded quietly.
"Well actually. I've been here for quite some time... You were just too busy to notice me," Armstrong commented evenly as one of the nurses handed him a small infant all washed and wrapped up in a small blanket. It was their little girl as April was handed her new son, she gently accepted him from the second nurse. "Hey, guys... Welcome to the .. world of ... the living," she commented softly.
Armstrong smiled, these were not his flesh and blood but that was irrelevant, he wanted more children and now he had gotten his wish so he decided he would make the most of it.
"Alright... Let's get these guys moved into a recovery room." Ya'tek-Hor'en spoke as she gave the two a quick checkup. "Do you guys have names for them.?"
"We do.." Armstrong nodded. "Braden for the boy and Haiyan for the girl," he added
"Good names. I will get certificates sorted out for you both... and you four can spend some time together and you April... Get some sleep." Ya'tek-Hor'en smiled at the new mother before her.
April nodded, she was exhausted and it was showing too as the medics came in to move them.
