Giving Birth: Suite Autumn

Mission: Mission 94: Shattered Shields and Crack'd Swords
Location: Various Locations - USS Dreamcrusher
Timeline: 0900Hrs - 8th July 2392

Command Master Chief Petty Officer Maiev Shadowsong sighed softly as she slowly made her way into sickbay. "Hey.." she greeted the nurse stationed at the desk. "Good Morning Master Chief... How are you feeling?"

"I feel like I've been ran over..." Shadowsong sighed softly. "I'm also here for my appointment.." she added with a gentle smile.

"Yep. I have you listed for this morning." the young shen responded, a wide smile on her face. "and how is the little one doing?"

"As far as I can tell.. He's ready to come out.." Shadowsong commented. "I've been having these weird back pains... Whats odd is that they come and they go.." she frowned. "I don't get it.."

The nurse paused before she lifted her tricorder. "Do you mind if I take a few scans of you... I might be getting paranoid but... I just wanna be sure that all is well.."

"Sure." Shadowsong responded lightly. "If you could find out what's causing it... that would be great." the older human female responded, a sigh coming out as the Andorian gave her a scan. "Well Master Chief. you are having your baby.."

"What?" Shadowsong paused as she looked suprised. "But.. But I;m ready."

The Shen tapped her combadge. "Front office to Doctor Yamaguchi...?"

"Go ahead Sheena?" came the response from Celeste Yamaguchi, who as luck would have it was also pregnant from the same incident that had left Shadowsong pregnant, the pineapple incident.

The door opened nearby and a heavy pregnant human female came out, she wore her uniform well and in addition to this, she also wore a rather large smile. "Hey Master Chief.. I guess its time hmm?" she inquired.

"I guess.." Shadowsong paused, raw fear in her eyes. "What do I do now.?"

"Thanks Sheena. I'll handle things from here." Yamaguchi gently came over as she gently took the other womans hand in her own. "Its going to be alright... Just breathe and we'll get you get through this." as she grinned at the other woman. "Come on with me... and I'll get you ready to bring your son into the world."

Shadowsong nodded as she began walking beside the other woman who was also in the same boat that she herself was. "Hows your little one doing?"

"He's doing okay. Even if his mother is having problems." Yamaguchi responded with a smile. "Hey. Admitting my issues have been helpful to me.. Besides my wife has been a great help to me too." she smiled. "Married life has been wonderfull but.. Thats also just me."

Shadowsong nodded her head, clearly understanding the conversation but her luck with men was terrible and relationships with her tended to never really last long, the two went into the nearby birthing room, Dreamcrusher's sickbay had six of these rooms and they were seeing a fair amount of use considering life does happen.

Three nurses came in to assist Celeste help Shadowsong prepare for the impending birth of her child. "Is there anyone you want me to call?"

Shadowsong shook her head. "No... I have no family close by and I'm not dating anyone." the older woman explained as she sat back and relaxed, she then began to focus on her breathing.

A nurse was standing off to the left of her as Shadowsong focused on her breathing while tuning everything out, she breathed in and then pushed the air back out as she felt a wave of pain crash over her much akin to a wave crashing onto a beach.

Over the next hour or so Shadowsong ended up becoming fully dilated. Celeste smiled as she pointed this out and she told Shadowsong to begin pushing. "Alright hon. you are fully dilated.." Yamaguchi paused a moment. "Whenever you are ready... go for it."

Shadowsong gently began to push. She sighed softly as she was now numb and raw from being in so much pain for so long. The pregnant female resumed her focused breathing as she continued pushing.

Soon however all of her troubles would come to an end as the nurse smiled. "I can see the crown."

Shadowsong gathered all of her energy remaining as she pushed her son out of her body. The infant felt cold suddenly as he began wailing loudly as the nurse severed the umbilical cord liking mother to child. "Your child is now a separate being." she explained before she began cleaning the child with a cloth, before wrapping the small infant up in a thermal blanket to keep him warm before the nurse handed him to his mother. "He's beautiful."

Shadowsong gently receved her child. She looked down at him. Her child as Celeste smiled. "Do you have a name for him?"

"Lawrence..." Shadowsong responded softly.

"Alright... your son now has a birth certificate. Lawrence Shadowsong." Celeste smiled warmly at the other woman. "You did great sweetie." as she gently brushed the hair out of Shadowsong's eyes. "We'll get you out of here and let you get some sleep. After we clean you up."

Shadowsong smiled. "That sounds great."
