Your Time is Short

Mission: Mission 89: An Irresistible Force

Timeline: July 3rd 2392

Kasana noticed Rachael Yamaguchi walking into the Noble's hospital, looking much more stiff than normal.

Rachael Yamaguchi winced as she slowly walked into the hospital. "Hey, Kasana. I hate to be a pain but. I think something is off." she paused. "I think my implants are failing but that's just my opinion."

The small foxlike Kurokuri grabbed her medical scanner and checked over Rachael. After about a minute she confirmed," Yeah, you do have failing implants. My guess is, at this rate, your body will only continue to function for about a month, and that's it. I don't think we can wait any longer now, we have to do the mind transfer procedure."

Rachael raised an eyebrow. "Now.?" she inquired. "I still have work to do with the rest of my people. I need to appoint a successor among them to carry on where I left off.," she added.

Kasana looked at her notes, then explained, "Well, fortunately, we caught a few lucky breaks. We found a subspace sinkhole with a very large star system inside it, and one where time flows at a vastly slower pace, just on the other side of the Taurus Reach, which means we won't have to make one. So if we can synthesize an omega particle, then the trap will be ready. I can also rig your body so that it can be remotely controlled as well."

Yamaguchi looked down at the smaller being. "Remote control my old body.." she paused. "That's almost ghoulish." she paused as a rather evil smile crossed her lips. "Oh the pranks I can pull on others.." she paused. "When are we doing this?"

"Well I need to talk to my brother so we can schedule the procedure," Kasana explained, "but if there are doctors available for this procedure, We should be able to get it done in the next few hours."

"Sounds good. Shall I go with you to see him?" Yamaguchi inquired.

"You can if you want," Kasana explained, "I have word on a few other events I need to tell you about anyway."

Yamaguchi cheered instantly. "Let's go see your brother and you can share your details. I can share my company since I am more or less beside myself."

Kasana nodded then led the way to Anzans office. While they walked she explained. "Alright, well first thing is first, we are getting additional help. The USS Voyagers Holographic Doctor, I think he has named himself Joe or something like that, He has agreed to have himself transferred into an android brain, and this will allow us to study the mobile holographic emitter and potentially replicate it."

"So that issue finally got sorted out," Yamaguchi answered. "Well thanks to Androids having sentient status in the Federation, any question of his legal issues is about to go byebye." she added. "Personally I think the Federation needs an enema but that's me." the tall female smiled down at the smaller one before her.

"He was ruled as a sentient being by the Federation supreme court over a decade ago," Kasana replied, "That's why we needed his permission before we could get the mobile emitter."

"Yeah. More legal B.S. which honestly never really ended with the Federation." Yamaguchi answered. "Isn't the Doctor here presently?" she added.

"Yeah, he has been here about a month now," Kasana answered, she then moved on to the next order of business," Anyway, our scout force has given us promising feedback on the Dyson sphere, so the noble is going to be moving out to put the containment field in place around the star, and make the surface full habitable again."

"Excellent," Yamaguchi responded. "That's fantastic news." she smiled down at the smaller being, while she walked beside Kasana. "Any ideas when Noble departs on this assignment?"

"In three days," Kasana explained, "But the Noble will still have easy access to this planet because our ground teleporter gate network will be connected to the Dyson sphere in a few days."

"Nice." Yamaguchi answered. "I wish I could go. I wanna see this place for myself."

"You should be in your new body by then," Kasana mentioned.

"Oh, very nice!" Rachael responded. "It'll be nice to know I can go on missions like this again." she smiled.

The pair then arrived at Anzan's office with Kasana stating," Anzan, where are you."

Anzan's voice came out of the back room," I'm back here, tending to the cats."

Kasana walked into the back room and sure enough, Anzan was paying attention to a mother cat and her kittens.

Yamaguchi followed. "Aww," she commented as she noted the mother cat with her litter of kittens. "How are they doing Anzan?" Yamaguchi inquired. "Are they able to have a visitor?" she added.

Anzan picked up one of the kittens, whom was three months old. "Well they are almost ready to go out to new homes, so yes, visitors are fine."

"Nice." Yamaguchi came over, stiffly and slowly. The Borg queen let out a soft sigh. "No, it's best if I do not pet them as I do not wish to frighten them," she explained. "We came on another matter." as she looked to Kasana to explain.

Kasana then mentioned to her brother. "Yes we need to do the mind transfer procedure on Rachael here right away. Her body is decaying so we don't have a lot of time left."

Anzan set the kitten down and went to his desk. "Alright, I'll set up the appointment."

Yamaguchi gently ran her fingertip between the mother cats ears. "Hello beautiful," she said gently. "I hope whoever you live with, appreciate you," she said gently.

Kasana looked at Rachael. "Yeah, she is Anzan's and is very well taken care of. Anyway if you want I can help you pick out a new body."

Yamaguchi smiled. "Sounds good to me. I welcome your input on the matter since you know the system far better than I do. Shall we?"

Kasana went to the computer and pulled up images of various body types. "Well, fortunately, we do have human like bodies in stock on this ship, For the most part, they are pretty generic in appearance, however, they can be customized in appearance to suit whatever you want. Or if you simply want the body to look like your original human one, we can do that fairly quickly."

Yamaguchi grinned. "Outstanding," she answered. "Let's see what you have."

Kasana showed Rachael the computer screen which had a wide range of body selections. She then added," Keep in mind, this is just the initial body we will give you, there is nothing stopping you from acquiring multiple bodies. Once your mind is in the android brain, it is relatively easy to swap it form one body to the next. Or controlling other bodies remotely for that matter."

Yamaguchi chuckled softly. "Aww, imagine the pranks I could pull with this." she paused. "I can switch bodies within a couple of hours with none the wiser. This is great." then she cackled like someone who had gone mad.

Kasana didn't pay much attention to the implications of the comment while Anzan spoke up," Alright, your appointment is in three hours."

"Three hours." Yamaguchi answered. "I will be on time, thank you." she added a moment later.
