Lieutenant Elizabeth Yamaguchi was tired, she was always tired and she woke up tired and went home tired. It didn't matter what she tried as a yawn escaped her lips. "Dammit. I hate this." the young woman growled as she went over to the desk she had been assigned for her paperwork. Elizabeth gently slid her form into the chair before she turned to face the desk. She then blinked her eyes, trying to focus as she yawned a second time. "Fuck I need a vacation. Hell. I'll settle for a stay-cation. So long as I get some sleep." the tired massive female growled softly.

Elizabeth noticed that she had mail, she narrowed her eyes before she went back to her paperwork, rather than open the message now as she began typing out her assignment request, for more medical supplies as she had been helping out Commander Celeste Yamaguchi-Hobbs with her paperwork so the heavily pregnant female could focus on her work which she saw as helping those who needed her.

Elizabeth sighed softly as she sipped her drink, she blinked her eyes open as the door opened and in walked Commander Celeste Yamaguchi-Hobbs, she preferred to be referred to as 'Doctor Hobbs' while on duty so she wouldn't be addressed as Doctor Yamaguchi, it cut down with people confusing her for Elizabeth Yamaguchi. Sometimes having two people working together with the same last name sucked or so Elizabeth thought to herself while a smile appeared on her face.

Moments later, another Doctor poked their head into the office. "Hey, Elizabeth. It's shift change."

"What... Oh." Yamaguchi paused. "Right. Sorry I got distracted."

Lieutenant Hae Min-Lee chuckled softly. "Go on Elizabeth. I'll handle your paperwork from here. Consider your issues handled." as she extended her hand for the PADD that Elizabeth held in her own hand. The massive woman handed it over in silence before she rose to her feet. "Right, well then. I'm off home.." and with that, she said her goodbyes and went out the door.

Elizabeth moved down the hallway, she was tired as she felt her exhaustion creeping up on her like a thick fog. "Mmm. Sleep will be a good thing for me," she commented softly to herself.

Reaching her destination a few minutes later. Yamaguchi went into her quarters to find Kameron sitting on the sofa, a PADD in his hand as he looked angrier than Elizabeth could ever recall ever seeing him. He looked well and truly enraged with anger, sadness, and grief. "Oh.. Hey Elizabeth," he growled softly, as he addressed his wife, he couldn't help it as he fought in vain to control his emotions.

Elizabeth could instantly tell that something was very wrong with this picture. "Kam, what's going on?" she inquired, as she could feel the fury he was keeping under very tight lock and key.

"You've not seen the casualty report?... Have you?" Kameron Yamaguchi regarded his wife, a very soft tone in his voice. "You should see this. For yourself." as he handed her the PADD. "Mom's name is on it."

"What?" Elizabeth blinked, surprise written in her voice.

"Yeah," Kameron whispered in response. "I still can't believe it."

Elizabeth accepted the PADD, gently turning it as if it were made of glass and could crumble at any second. Sure enough it had Torilla Yamaguchi's name listed as killed in action. Elizabeth couldn't believe it as the PADD slid from her suddenly nerveless fingers as the tall woman stared out into empty space as if trying to make sense of what she had just seen and had just been told. Her mind reeled as her right leg suddenly lashed out at the PADD that had seemed to offend her.

The corner of the PADD connected with her foot mid-swing, the blow sent the PADD hurtling across her quarters like a guided missile, it smashed into the far wall with such force that it disintegrated, suddenly she found she could feel the anger, the rage and the grief from her two siblings as they were likewise informed of their mothers passing.

Elizabeth's eyes opened wide as she felt the full force of the emotions racing through her mind, as well as those of her siblings as she burst into tears. "Dammit!." she screamed as Kameron came over to her.

Kameron gently enfolded his arms around his wife's torso, he had been expecting her to come apart at the seams when she was told the news. "Come on Beth... come on over here."

"I can't believe it!" Elizabeth protested as she felt her husband support her as the two went into the bedroom, he gently sat her down on the bed before he sat down next to her, he then gently slid his arms around her as he gently held her in his arms while she cried and sobbed.

Kameron felt numb more than anything else as he closed his eyes. The woman who had taken him in when he was having the big conflict with his own family. Torilla Yamaguchi had been the one person in his entire life who's faith in Kameron and the man he was, had never once wavered. Even Elizabeth had questioned him when their relationship had fallen apart the first time while the two of them were at the academy together, but she had her reasons at the time.

Elizabeth had no idea of how to process any of the news that her mother was never coming home as Kameron gently slipped off her uniform jacket as he gently held her in his arms, the two sitting silently amid her cries for her mother, now fallen in battle.
