Mission: Mission 86: A Hero Falls
Location: Various Locations - Battlecruiser Ryazar's Shield
Timeline: May 17th 2392

The Akurian Battlecruiser Ryazar's Shield and two destroyers dropped out of FTL near where the stricken Galaxy Class starship Courageous was located.

Ryuukei sitting on his usual command chair, his tail wrapped around himself, raised the Courageous, "Courageous this is Ryazar's Shield, we are here to assist you."

Commander Javier Morales had reassembled most of his command crew on the Courageous's old battle bridge which was left in place as ripping it out would have cost far too much time and work.

Jiao Anderson sighed as she tapped the display. "We're being hailed. It's the Ryazar's Shield saying they are here to help."

"Put them through," Morales commented. "Ryazar's Shield. It's good to hear from you," he commented. "We could use a tow to Goranar orbit more than anything else. We're getting set to abandon ship over here." Morales sighed softly. "My engineers are telling me that the Courageous is a lost cause."

Ryuukei nodded. "Well, we can take all your wounded and your dead, see if we can revive any of them."

Morales nodded. "That sounds good Captain. I will have my medical guys send them across to you," he commented

Jiao tapped her display a few times. "Medical has been alerted."

"In the meantime, however. Do you have space for a few hundred personnel?" Morales asked of Ryuukei.

"More than enough room," Ryuukei answered.

"Excellent," Morales responded. "I'm going to start sending my crew over to you, just in case we start coming apart at the seams."

Ryuukei looked at the Scans of the Courageous then mentioned," Yeah, you might as well evacuate everyone, your ship is extremely banged up, plus its defenseless of the Klingons come back, as we can't tow it to a safer space without the risk of breaking the ship in two."

Morales nodded. "Yeah. But I'm not leaving my people behind, even the dead ones," he responded quietly. "I owe it to them to bring them home to their families," he added. "Bridge to Falannar?"

"Yes skipper?" came the response.

"Start evacuating this ship, we take everything of value, leave nothing behind, bring everything."

"We're on it skipper. Falannar out." before the comline died. "Ryazar's Shield. We'll start beaming to you and using our support craft to move gear and personnel over to you as well."

Ryuukei nodded, "Alright my medical teams will be standing by."

Morales smiled as he nodded. "Garry. Head on down to sickbay and give them a hand," he commented

"Yessir. I'm on my way." Smithson departed what was left of the command center as Morales sighed softly before he went to work.

An hour or so later, most of the crew had been moved across to the Akurian battlecruiser. "Are the charges placed?"

Lieutenant Garry Smithson handed him a PADD. "Ready to go on your command, the first Klingons who try to board us will also be the last," he explained with a smile. "The explosive yield has been jacked up as high as I can make it. Once I set off the charge. It'll activate as soon as Klingon beams aboard." he paused. "Somewhere around two gigatonnes and once armed, I can't shut it off."

"So.. The last one out, gets the lights hmmm?" Morales inquired.

"Yes, Skipper. Other than that, the evacuation is almost complete." Smithson explained. "I got myself, a dozen others and you. We're all that remains."

"Alright. Then let's depart." Morales responded before moving to the turbolift, leaving the command center for the last time and making his way to the shuttle located inside the main hanger. "Alright, give me that PADD."

Smithson and the other dozen or so enlisted people boarded the two shuttles remaining, one of them took off quickly as Morales activated the system. Moments later the shuttle departed the Courageous for the last time.

Once the Ryazar Shield retrieved the last shuttle, Ryuukei turned to his helmsman. "Alright take us out of here."

Only seconds before the battlecruiser entered FTL several Klingon destroyers and frigates showed up, however before they could even fire on the Akurian vessel, the ship went into FTL, disappearing from the Klingon scopes.

The Klingon ships meanwhile went to secure the Courageous, the commanding officer of the small force proceeded to launch several hundred assault troops onto the badly damaged Federation ship but the intruder system detected the Klingons biosignatures and activated the warhead, the explosion demolished everything within two kilometers, destroying several Klingon assault shuttles and one small Klingon warship which had gotten too close to the damaged Federation ship.

All of the Klingon's deployed died instantly as did several dozen more on the two small ships that had gotten close, one of them exploded and one was crippled and had to be abandoned minutes later.

The Klingon commander snarled something oevr the com system about being denied his honor.
