Commander Plataea Unal nodded as she regarded her former first officer. "You did well Lieutenant, what happened wasn't your fault."

"I keep feeling that I could have done a better job. I should have seen it coming." Malcolm Rainer explained as he regarded her. "I.. Fuck ma'am, what did I miss?"

"Nothing Malcolm. You did everything right, we all did and we still got nailed. Life's tough like that at times. Don't beat yourself up about it. You and everyone else did a heck of a job, it's a shame it ended when it did.." Unal explained with a gentle smile.

"Yeah, Nightstalker was a good ship."

"With a good crew. She didn't let us down and we didn't let her down either. The Klingons had us all dead to rights." she shrugged. "We should be back on Roanoke shortly and we get our new assignments from there." as she glanced at the nearby wall chronometer. "Take it easy." and with that, she turned and made her way to the command center.

Unal knew fully well that she was a passenger on this ship as she walked onto the bridge.

Ryuukei was not in his usual chair. Instead, he was near the back of the command center, where his sister Arumi was brushing his back.

Unal came over. "Okay, well I talked to my crew. They are in good spirits and they want revenge for their losses." she inquired as she regarded Ryuukei. "I can't say I blame them for being angry about things."

Ryuukei didn't really know what to say on the matter, so he asked. "How many of your crew made it."

"Eighteen did. I lost four." Unal responded. "They were good people and I'll miss them. I already started writing the letters home to their families," she added. "How long before we arrive?"

Ryuukei looked at one of the displays. "We are here in the Gornar system now. we will be joining the fleet in a minute or two."

"Alright. Thank you again for saving my crew. I owe you one." Unal responded with a gentle smile as she gently ran her hand behind his left ear. "I'd best go round up my guys so we can head back to Roanoke upon arrival."

With that said and done, she turned and found her crew in the transporter room, even though this wasn't the usual style of the transporter that she and her guys were used to.

A few minutes later she and her personnel were aboard the USS Roanoke. "Alright. You guys head on down to sickbay. I'm sure someone at some point in time will want to brief you." before she turned and departed the transporter room. She made her way to her new destination and reached Teval's ready room several minutes later.

Upon entering, she regarded Teval. "Well, the assignment could have gone better but I'm back."

"What happened", Teval asked.

"We arrived on station to begin laying our mines when six birds of prey jumped us. We had no warning whatsoever before we went from ready to fleeing for our lives." Unal explained as she placed her tricorder on the desk before her. "What I was able to save from the Nightstalkers datacores. It's not much."

"So Nightstalker is lost then huh," Teval asked. He then looked to the side. "Oh well, it's just a ship, the important part is the crew. How are they."

"I saved eighteen, losing only four," Unal explained. "The crew are tired, shaken and angry. Some of them are relieved to be alright and others want revenge for their losses." Unal explained before she sighed softly. "They will need to be debriefed of course as to what happened."

Teval nodded, contemplating how exactly to Tell Plataea this next bit of news, so he started. "Plataea, something rather serious has happened to Lasarra."

Plataea regarded Teval before she sat down. She paused as she breathed in and then back out. "What happened?" she inquired in a gentle tone, even if it didn't prevent her momentary panic attack.

"Well, " Teval explained," Lasarra has been involved in a transporter accident. we still don't know how it happened but her and two others basically had their genders flipped."

Plataea regarded Teval in silence for a moment while the tall woman processed the news she had just been told. "Wait. Lasarra is male?" she inquired. "I would be very interested in learning how this happened and how this was done." she paused. "When you find out of course."

Teval nodded. "Yep Lasarra is male, and as I mentioned, this also happened to two others, which is why we are not using Roanoke's transporters at the moment."

Unal sighed softly. "I'd best go see the rest of my family while I work on my formal report for you." she regarded him. "What else has happened recently?"

"Nothing too terribly important," Teval replied, though we mostly seem to have control of the Goronar system now, Anyway, Torilla really wants to see you in regards to Lasarra, as there are some more details she can fill you in on, because trust me, this story gets even weirder, but she knows it better than I do."

"Alright. I'll do that. I need to go see my sibling anyway." Unal then smiled. "Before I go visit my daughter..err son." she sighed. "That will take some adjusting to." the tall female admitted.

"Well you don't have to adjust as much as Lasarra, Shorin or Ryuukei on this matter," Teval replied.

Unal blinked. "Shit. I didn't know Ryuukei had been affected by this little disaster." she paused. "He didn't come across as changed at all." she paused. "Anyway. I need to get going. Places to see and people to chat with and the like." and with that, the tall woman rose to her feet and departed without another word spoken.
