Mission: Mission 79: Sound Trumpets! Let Our bloody Colors Wave
Location: Planet Surface - Goranar
Timeline: 0600Hrs - April 17th, 2392

Lt Commander Vrenn Chan let out a soft sigh as he felt the intense heat of Goranar wash over him and for a moment he could appreciate the extreme heat. He closed his eyes and took a second moment to enjoy it before he turned and he went back into the large audience chamber where he was meeting with several Gorn, many of whom were new to their positions. "Alright... Where were we??"

"We were discussing how much the Federation was going to pay for our assistance in this war." one of the three Gorn responded. This was the one who Chan felt he would face the biggest opposition from.

"Again, you have your facts confused. Allow me to once more straighten them out for you. We are not paying for anything." Vrenn responded in a rather blunt tone of voice. "I was sent here to sort out the issues regarding the Gorn chain of command and how it pertains to interacting with the Federation and our allies. Not in material payments to anyone..."

The second Gorn rasped softly in amusement but otherwise said nothing while the third settled back to listen in amusement if the look on his face meant anything. "Thunderfall. You are wasting your time with this line of talk." General Trogar Axehead addressed his compatriot.

"You wish our assistance!." Grogan Thunderfall rasped at Vrenn. "Then you will pay us for it!" The being was a politician and was used to getting his way. He also found Lt Commander Vrenn Chan to be a stubborn Starfleet officer, but he assumed that was simply because the man was a Klingon, rather than his Starfleet background.

"You wish to sell your troops for money... Have you no shame?" The Klingon wearing a Starfleet uniform sighed. He said his comments in a derisive tone of voice. "Your troops are not mercenaries and neither is mine," Chan added in a derisive tone of voice that indicated the Gorn in question had neither his respect, not his time. "Can we move on now... I am not going to budge from this position, it would be unwise for you to anger me."

The second Gorn snorted in amusement. "I think... We are not here to barter for services like we are in a bazaar." General Arrowsling commented in a gentle tone of voice. "We are here to sort out the terms of alliance with the Federation. Lest I remind you that time is precious." the second most massive Gorn behind Axehead who was close to eight foot in height and had the size to match it.

"I care not if you think your time is being wasted," Axehead growled. "I need to ensure-" he started but was quickly cut off. "I do not care," Chan responded. "I was sent here with a very specific mandate by Fleet Admiral April Yamaguchi herself...There simply was nobody else available.. as most of our other diplomats are busy elsewhere and I was sent to deal with you."

"You dare insult me!" the massive Gorn roared at Chan.

Chan simply looked unimpressed. "How about you save your rage for the Klingons out there, not the Klingon in here.." the Klingon wearing a Starfleet uniform simply stood up. "Now... If we can't come to terms then we will simply proceed like this... We will assist you simply because your original government requested our assistance, we will liberate your systems that require it, spending blood and treasure to do it... When we are finished, we can either discuss our terms for an alliance then or not at all.. Since you are not willing to discuss it now." Chan snapped off his points in blunt form, one at a time.

General Arrowsling rumbled. "I think... We have much to discuss further."

Axehead turned. "You would listen to this pompous fool further?"

"I would actually." responded the third Gorn in the room, as he moved ever so gently, leaning forward. "Thunderfall, you are an ignorant fool as you care only about your own position and not for those of others... I will hear no more from you."

Chan sensed the political landscape before he was shifting, he smiled. "Very well... My terms are as such. Your forces will communicate with mine and we work together to drive out our common foe. Any issues between us will be ignored for now until we have such time as we can discuss them and sort them out... Any fighting between us only weakens us before our enemy... and Klag and his troops will settle for nothing less than victory... My proposal is that we unite under a single banner... and work together to prevent this from happening."

Axehead nodded. "I agree."

Thunderfall sighed. "I ... disagree.. I will not bow to you."

General Arrowsling sighed. "We are not asking you to bow... We are asking you to stand in defense of your homeland with our new allies who are clearly willing to spend their blood to help us... I also agree.." he turned to Thunderfall. "You are outvoted and... The motion passes... We are allied to the Federation for this battle... Afterward however.. Will be another story." he paused. "If. We can secure peace."

Chan nodded. "Agreed. If we are to secure a permanent peace... We will work together for it."

"Agreed." came the response from Thunderfall.
