Mission:
Mission 79: Sound Trumpets! Let Our bloody Colors Wave
Location: Planet Surface - Killrog
Timeline: 0900Hrs - April 17th, 2392
Commander Bardan Jusik of the Starfleet Diplomatic Corps sighed softly as he turned back from admiring the view. "Gentlemen. We need to sort out who, what, where and when." the older human commented evenly.
"Why not the why part?" inquired one of the two Gorn males present, one of them was the General who had commanded the base during the major assault by the Klingons and later the Federation when they liberated the planet and the base before linking up with the Gorn, then together the two had crushed the remaining Klingon forces down to nothing, rather then surrender the Klingons fought to the last man and the Gorn simply obliged them.
General Throk Grosh'thar, regarded Jusik with an air of interest and amusement. "Because the why is obvious... I mean it is to me anyway." before the massive Gorn smiled. "I mean... Why else would we be here talking about this...?" he indicated Jusik with a wave of his truly massive paw. "Fine. I'll explain since you were obviously dropped on your head a few too many times as a hatchling."
Bardan Jusik smiled before he chuckled in amusement, he had already decided that Grosh'thar would be the far more dangerous opponent in the room, the second guy was simply a lackey and didn't have any serious power, his boss was new to the job he was in and as such, the Gorn in question simply had idea of what he was doing, he settled in to wait for the massive Gorn to explain his point of view.
General Throk Grosh'thar paused. "Do I have your attention?" he inquired in a rather derisive tone of voice.
The first Gorn growled ever so softly. "Spit it out already. I grow old."
Grosh'thar rumbled with amusement. "The why... It's simply because the Federation is willing to spend blood and treasure to assist us when they honestly had little cause to do so... This is not their war. They do 'not'-" he paused to insert virtual quotation marks in that last word before he proceeded with what he was saying. "-need to be here." he rumbled.
"So... Why are they here..?" the first Gorn inquired.
"Oh, you cannot be this dense." Grosh'thar sighed. "Commander Jusik...Did I pronounce that right?" he inquired. "Why are you here?"
Jusik regarded the two Gorn. "I am here... Because I was ordered to hammer out problems in the command and control chain... The Federation is here simply because the Klingons have enslaved Federation citizens and been holding them as slaves. We are also here because our aid was requested by the Gorn government before Goranar was invaded." he explained bluntly.
Grosh'thar turned. "You think they wish to conquer us?"
Jusik spoke up. "Why would I wish to conquer you?." the human inquired. "My assistance was requested... That means that someone in your government hoped we would make a worthy ally... Or that we were just to be used and then discarded like yesterday's lunch." Jusik then shrugged. "To me, it's all academic anyway... "
"You do not like diplomats much... Do you?. Small one?"
"They have their uses," Jusik responded bluntly as he looked up at the tall Gorn who was trying to stare him down. "You don't seem to like me... or the Federation very much."
"No." the first Gorn responded.
"Hmm. That's a shame. Considering I'm told I make a hell of a hell of a Mai Tai... So... What can I say?" Jusik shrugged his shoulders evenly. "Hey. Hey!" Jusik suddenly snapped at the first Gorn in a rather angry and strident tone. "They don't concern me... Its concerns you so stop acting like a fucking meathead and knock it off with the attitude. We have work to do and I have no time to waste on your prattling." Jusik yelled at the first Gorn. "He has stuff he'd rather be doing but he's here babysitting you because you're being a fucking asshole.!"
Grosh'thar rumbled in amusement before he started laughing. "Y'know. I like this little one." he indicated Jusik with his massive set of claws. "He has no fear at all." he nodded. "So.. Commander Jusik. What are your terms?"
"Terms?" Jusik responded, somewhat taken aback as he was surprised that the two were still here, considering his outburst was his temper and self-control melting down because he simply had enough of the prattling and time-wasting of the first Gorn who's name he had forgotten.
"Yes... The Federation lost people liberating my base... They saved my life and those of my troops who survived." Grosh'thar explained. "I will fight alongside you. I suspect many of my troops will do likewise."
"Right. Err.. Yes." Jusik responded quietly. "Okay. We will work together on issues like communications, supplies and medical issues," Jusik explained. "In response, the Federation will assist you in liberating your territory... I don't know if the Federation will go for a full-scale invasion of the Klingon Empire. But I keep hearing that they might." Jusik explained.
"That would be a sight to see.." Grosh'thar commented. "Very well. It's decided then, we shall fight together against the Klingon invaders. Until that issue has been resolved, everything else will be dealt with as time permits."
"My thoughts exactly," Jusik responded with a smile.
