Mission: Mission 98: Building Our New Home
Location: Various Locations - Starbase Vanguard
Timeline: 1130Hrs - July 21st, 2393

Plataea Lasky was not in a happy mood, it showed on her face while the pregnant Halanan female moved down the hallway towards her destination, her sisters home, Torilla was her twin and the old tale that these two shared space in their mothers womb was an easy story to tell, they had been separated at birth and had only recently found each other again. It was better than the truth as Plataea reached her destination, she tapped on the door chime and waited for the response.

Torilla answered the door a moment later, she was wearing civilian clothing, a pair of jeans and a sweatshirt completed Torilla's look. "Plataea, you best come in." before she turned and retreated back into her home, two cats were sitting nearby, one of them regarded her with its large golden eyes before the massive cat blinked slowly. Plataea quickly recognized Jorge and Siaxx but the rest were either busy elsewhere or were asleep somewhere.

Plataea watched as Torilla sat down on the sofa as she indicated a chair across from her. "I have the feeling that is not a friendly visit."

"It's not." Plataea was visibly annoyed, it showed in her face as she sat down. "Would you mind explaining just what the fuck was said between you and Nebris.?"

"You need to be more specific," Torilla answered quickly. "Nebris does not talk to me much."

"Yes, Torilla. I know but you forget, biologically, he's my son, not yours." Plataea answered. "Jake is his father so I allowed you both to claim him as your child, same as my other children and they are doing well, Selendis especially so." she paused a moment. "Ouros is starting to work on her concerns and issues. But Nebris. What did you say to him?" she had a rather annoyed look in her eye.

"You'd not making any sense..." Torilla answered, she was confused and the look on her face said as much.

"Then allow me to jog your memory," Plataea responded in a low tone of voice. "If you will cast your recollection back to about the time you found out that Nebris had just gotten Tienn pregnant with their children," Plataea explained as she waited for an answer, she crossed her arms under her breasts as she did so, a sign that she was getting impatient.

"Oh," Torilla answered as she recalled the event in question. "It seems I am never to be free of that event. I never had a real issue with Nebris other than the fact that he confused the living crap out of me. I did not know what to expect, first, he becomes male and then he becomes a model citizen overnight. It confused me then, it confuses me now."

Plataea regarded Torilla in silence. "Yet you didn't pay attention to him when he needed you," she responded evenly. "He said he could handle it alone but Tienn has been utterly worthless and he is lost and confused trying to be something he is not."

"Plataea, I did watch and I had helped him on more than one occasion. I was concerned he had endured too much in a short space of time, too much to reasonably process and deal with and I was right. I also know that's not his fault." she explained. "He had to be reasonable in an unreasonable situation. But he ended up losing to the absurd." she sighed softly. "That also, was not his fault." she paused. "The effort he made through, was heartbreaking to watch..."

"But Nebris has begun his transition back to being female. Lasarra will rise again and I can only hope this does not get out of hand." Plataea answered.

"It will, Tienn will demand the kids back and she'll get them. Simply because Nebris is unfit to be a parent and Rachael is cleaning up her mess this time, last time it was Saki and before that, it was Elizabeth." Torilla paused. "I am going to ask my new Exec to deal with her sibling quietly. Before I make things official." she paused. "Rachael will not wish to hand the twins back over to what she sees as a loser so they will end up fighting it out in court."

"You won't need to. Tom is handling things. In his usual manner." Plataea suddenly grinned at her twin.

"That statement terrifies me and thrills you," Torilla answered. "I suspect Tom is about to do something highly stupid where Tienn is concerned," she added.

"Oh, I have my own ways of making my point." as Plataea shifted her position in the chair she was sitting in. "Ultimately. Tom will ask Alex to look after the squadron for today, he's going to go get some sleep so he can be awake in the middle of the night so he can go and deal with Tienn." she smiled darkly. "Either way, he will succeed, if he fails then I get to have my turn. She needs to wise up and stop screwing up."

"I agree, but don't start violating the law Plataea, it won't help either of you if you get caught doing something stupid," Torilla answered evenly.

"I have no intention of violating anyone or anything." Plataea then grinned. "All joking aside. I know Tom will have things well in hand," she added.

Torilla regarded her in silence. "You honestly think Tom Lasky is going to be civil?" she commented. "You forget that I know him far better than you do, and he has a rather unique relationship with two of my daughters. Rachael was his protégé. He was teaching her how to fly." Torilla sighed softly. "Then there is Elizabeth... Well, that one is complicated even by my standards."

"I know all about both women and their relationships with Tom, same with Saki," Plataea answered with a smile. "Personally, Elizabeth's relationship with Tom, I think its cute as you mention her name to him and he starts grinning like an idiot, one would almost think he was sleeping with her on the side but I know better." she suddenly sighed. "Maybe a relationship like that would help Ouros. I know she is positively neon green with envy where Elizabeth is concerned."

"I know. I'm worried about Ouros." Torilla answered. "But Nebris, first things first."

Plataea nodded. "He has two children who are about to end up in a major custody battle and he can't raise them so Tienn wins again."

"Except that Rachael is involved," Torilla answered. "That muddies the picture somewhat."

"They will rule against her, she has five children already," Plataea answered in a dismissive tone of voice.

"Perhaps." Torilla agreed. "But Rachael knows what she's doing when it comes to children," she added with a soft sigh.

"Hopefully Nebris can figure out what he or she wants. I know the Akurian medical technology will assist us here." Plataea answered with a sigh.

"Yeah," Torilla answered with a sigh. "Hopefully Nebris will find his way in time," she commented. "Besides, he has you, Jake, and the rest of our family," she commented. "That has to count for something."

"It does but Torilla. He needs all the help he can get and I am worried about him. I know our family dynamic is rather strange and you're shipping out soon with the Grey Wolf but would you keep a close eye on him over the next while.?" Plataea asked.

"I will, I'll ask our children to do the same." Torilla paused a moment before she smiled, while she felt the responses come back from her children who were present on the base.

"My telepathy was never as strong as yours," Plataea admitted with a sigh. "How are you feeling otherwise?"

"I'm feeling good. I want out of this gilded cage, y'know what I mean?" Torilla responded as the two settled in for a long conversation.
