Issues, Concerns and How to Resolve Them

Posted on Mon Mar 9th, 2020 @ 4:50am by Lieutenant General Steven Johnson & Rear Admiral Heather Yamaguchi-Johnson & Grand Admiral April Yamaguchi

Mission: Mission 81: They Shall Have Wars and Pay for their resumption
Location: Admirals Office - Starbase 12
Timeline: 1000Hrs - April 9th, 2392

Fleet Admiral April Yamaguchi was sitting behind her desk, lost in her own thoughts as a gentle sigh softly escaped her lips. "I still don't believe it.." she muttered softly, the com system beeped at her as the voice of hr yeoman came over the com system. "Admiral Yamaguchi?"

"Yeah.. I'm still alive Toby." April responded. "What is it?" she inquired.

"Your ten o'clock appointment is here... Do you want me to send them in or wait another few minutes?" the younger female officer inquired of her.

April paused as she shook her head. "No.. Send them in... I'm fine."

"Alright." Lieutenant Toby Greenfield turned to a clearly concerned Rear Admiral Heather Yamaguchi-Johnson. "The Admiral will see you now."

Corps General Steven Johnson watched in silence as he watched the young woman before him as she tapped something on her display, the door behind her then opened with a soft hissing sound.

Yamaguchi-Johnson walked forward into her older sister's office. "April. Whats going on?" Her husband following her in silence.

April Yamaguchi remained seated behind her desk. "Dealing with Talon and.. well Talon." she responded. "Apparently we have a second Talon Yamaguchi from another reality who is now making this one her home. I just met her along with Torilla's twin just under an hour ago. I was... an experience for all invovled."

"How so?" Yamaguchi-Johnson sat down in one of the chairs before April's desk as her husband sat down beside her. "Well you might have read about a visit from an alternate reality by a group of troopers... four in all who as it turned out was a version of Torilla and three of her children named Ouros who is another version of our Elizabeth, Lasarra who is another version of Rachael except she's older then our version, no explanation given and Selendis who has no counterpart on our reality except she's several months younger then Gabe." she sighed softly.

"So.. This version of Torilla couldn't become pregnant with the child that would become her version of Gabe because the... facilities were already in use." Yamaguchi-Johnson responded, putting together the pieces for herself. "So.. what's this alternate Torilla like?"

"Well.. She's actually nicer then our Torilla which is saying a lot considering the hell she's been through... Jake in her reality was... Less then kind to her, he..." April stopped. "I still can't believe it. He was an abusive asshole."

"I can't do it either. picturing Jake as an abusive asshole... Gives me goosebumps too." Heather commented.

"I mean Jake is a guy I can admire but this is a little beyond me." Steven commented with a smile. "He makes a relationship look easy, even with a wife who's been through a lot of crap over the last year or so... Watching his youngest become his eldest, Torilla getting knifed and almost killed by Tom Lasky, getting treated like shit and being forced to do her CO's job as Zara Tane just wanted to spend all of her time getting obliterated with drugs and booze." Johnson explained, clearly he either remained in touch with Torilla and Jake or he watched them from afar.

"Yeah. Sounds like someone who hates life." Yamaguchi-Johnson agreed.

April smiled. "Well the alternate-Talon is living here... She's going to go by her new name.. Astrid." she explained. "She's presently listed as serving on the USS Hermes so if you guys wanna meet her, she's around in the fleet wearing the colors.. Also she's around on the starbase, probably meeting with Jake as we speak." April smiled. "I imagine it'll be as interesting for him as it was for me."

"Sounds like it." Yamaguchi-Johnson responded quietly. "I do want to meet my new sibling."

"As do I." Steven added a moment later. "We'll track them down after we finish here."

"Okay. Steven.. You'll be taking over as Commander of the Marine Forces assigned to the Klingon Front, probably based from any base from Starbase Two Thirty Four in the Triborder area to Starbase Nine Eighty One near Cestus for use as your command post, all marine forces in that area are yours... Its also comes with a promotion to Lieutenant General. Now normally I can't do this but General Jacquelyn Lawrence isn't available and normally she would be the one promoting you... But she asked me to handle it and I am." as she handed the new rank insignia to her younger sister.

Johnson gently plucked the old rank insignia off of his collar at that point before he gently handed them to April as he turned to face his wife. With a rather wide smile on her face, she gently pinned her husband's new rank insignia on his collar. "Congratulations... Lieutenant General Johnson." as his wife coiled her arms around him as she gave him a hug. "They look good on you."

"Thank you." Johnson responded. "I'll admit I wasn't chasing the rank... But since things are getting stupid, I'd best get to work..." he paused. "I'll start with a two week tour of all the marine units assigned to my new command and meet with my staff at the same time." he explained. "I want to be sure that everyone is getting what they need and if not then I will arrange to provide for them." he added while outlining his plans. "Where will you be Heather?"

April was the one who answered. "I want the Seventh to be visible, because I don't trust the Klingons to behave, if they start then I want the Seventh to be in a position to make sure they get the hint that we are not fucking around with them."

Heather smiled. "I'll be on my flagship. USS Yankee Clipper with the fleet, showing the flag." the shorter of the two females explained with a smile. "I have a feeling that this could get stupid so..." she turned to April. "I'm going to have to drop the kids off on the Starbase... They can't go with me as this I assume is a war patrol and they can't go with Steven either.." she let out a soft sigh. "Could I ask you and Jake to watch them... god knows two guys probably have far too many children to watch already." she explained.

April nodded. "I can put them up here on the starbase along with the several thousand other children from the fleet who are also staying behind." she explained. "Don't worry about them. They are in good hands... As long as I can spare them."

"We both appreciate this April." Yamaguchi-Johnson responded with a smile. "We'll make it up to you."

"Assuming the Klingons behave then thats fine, if not then they are the ones you both must seek restitution from." April paused. "Their civil war is looking like it'll be one of the bloodiest ever fought... I have a bad feeling that this one actually might bring down the Empire itself."

Yamaguchi-Johnson nodded her head. "I was expecting this. Just not quite this soon... Considering that the Klingon species makes up about five percent of the total numbers of the Empire, a major uprising or a major rebellion was inevitable." as Johnson gently took his wife's hand under the table, more or less to show her emotional support as this was not a subject she liked speaking about as the vast majority of studies said that the Federation would end up getting dragged into a major dispute inside the Empire, it always happened before and wo0uld happen again.

April nodded her head. "Yeah.." she said quietly. "Starfleet Intelligence says we could be looking at a complete collapse in as little as two years... I have been forced to split Beta Quadrants forces into three fronts. one to watch the Romulans fighting it out, the second to watch the Klingons as they right it out and the rest to handle whats being missed and ignored." April sighed softly before she continued. "The good news is that the Federation is ramping up its starship production and base production.. The last of the Regula Three class starbases is leaving service in two weeks time... Its along the Klingon front... Starbase Three Two Two. If the Klingons start shit with us.."

"It'll be there." Johnson spoke the first words out of his mouth in over ten minutes. "Alright. I'll visit that place first... When will the replacement base be on station?"

"Two days after the old base goes offline." April explained. "It can't be helped."

Johnson nodded his head. "Then... with your permission April.. I have best get going.. I have a lot of ground to cover and a lot of people to go see in a very short timeframe."

"You don't need my permission to do anything Steve." April responded. "I appreciate the respect however." she paused. "On your way then General... Be safe out there..."

Johnson nodded as he rose to his feet. "Heather. We need to drag the kids out of school for this..."

"Yeah.. They aren't going to like this."

"Nope but then why should they?" he inquired. "I wouldn't like it... Would you?"

"No. I don't." Yamaguchi-Johnson regarded her husband with a simple look. "April.. If you don't mind?"

"Yeah.. Go on, get out of here you two... Welcome to the shitshow."
April commented in a sardonic tone as she watched her sibling and her husband both rise to their feet and depart her office.
