Mission: Mission 98: Building Our New Home
Location: Tienn's Quarters - Starbase Vanguard (47)
Timeline: 1100Hrs - May 26th, 2393

Lt Colonel Tienn Nerra was asleep in her bed, she was out cold as Balin was seated at the kitchen table, several PADD's before him as he was busy learning how to count in his native tongue. Being raised among Klingons as a brood stud, he had never seen what the outside skies looked like despite the fact that his childhood was one of prosperity and leisure. He was however forced to impregnate as many females as possible, many of them were much larger and older than Balin himself was, this led to him becoming stupidly overprotective of Tienn once he settled in and he learned that his new guardian was with child. This was also an issue that had not gone away even after Balin had gotten to know his guardian's new spouse who was a Klingon.

The two had come to a measure of understanding, something that had reduced the stress on Tienn considerably, when she realized the two men in her life could co-exist, she realized that she was on the verge of a panic attack and had to force herself to breathe.

Tienn's choice to train Balin in the various martial arts that she knew had been a great help for her and for him, especially once she had given birth to her daughter, she was able to hit the gym hard and within a couple of months, she had burned off most of the baby fat she had gained while being pregnant with Edal.

"Its gonna be okay Balin. You don't need to protect me. I should be protecting you because you are part of my family now." Tienn had said. "You and your siblings. You are my children. I may not have given birth to you but you are mine, as close as I can get without being blood." Tienn had encouraged Balin ever since he and the other kits had come into her life over a year ago.

"I know mom but I can't easily break this habit." Balin had explained at the time.

Suddenly the door opened and in walked a large Klingon. Balin lifted his head as he growled softly before he sighed. "Wait... Who are you!" the Balian said in a tired tone from where he was seated at the kitchen table. PADD in his claws, suddenly the PADD shattered as Balin snarled loudly at him.

"I have a name." He sternly told the kit. "It is Commander K'taro, son of Grok. Remember it whelp."

The Caitian was unimpressed as he growled at the Klingon before he hissed loudly. The door to the bedroom opened and out came Tienn Nerra. "Whats going on....Oh." she sighed softly. "Balin, its only K'taro. My husband. Remember?" she knew what she was walking into, her son was having a PSTD episode as she moved in to comfort him and calm him down. "Shit.," Tienn said aloud.

Balin regarded the Klingon in silence as he noticed the four small kits peering at the two of them facing off against each other. "Balin?" she paused. "Who's that?" the largest of the four inquired.

"That's K'taro. Remember him?" Tienn inquired. "My spouse and your friend." Tienn Nerra blinked her tired eyes as she sighed softly. "His timing, however, does suck," she added in a moment of brevity.

K'taro smiled at Tienn before returning his attention to Balin. "Balin. Your name. Are you ashamed of it?" He asked Balin.

"Yes," Balin admitted. "Because of what I had to endure while growing up. I was used as a fuck toy, I didn't even see the skies until I was liberated and now I'm here with Tienn. She calls me her child but... There it is." he regarded the Klingon. "You were not of the ones who enslaved me," Balin added. "My name is Balin."

"No, I was not one of the ones who enslaved you," K'taro told Balin. "I was the First Officer of the ship that spearheaded your liberation."

Balin raised an eyebrow. "Why?" he inquired. "Why liberate people like me from people who looked like you?"

Tienn suppressed a yawn as she wanted to listen to this. "Mmm. Let me make some lunch. Since everyone is here and awake." she knew that she was taking a calculated risk moving away from Balin at this point.

"Because, little one, what those other Klingons did to you and your people was wrong. They lacked honor and that needed to be addressed." K'taro told her.

"What is... Honor?" one of the younger Caitans inquired.

While the chat was going on. Tienn was wearing only a flimsy nightdress with only a pair of shorts beneath it, as she made breakfast. "Come on out guys. Dig in," she commented.

The four small Caitian children moved towards the table, rather than charge at her. Balin had heard the word honor before but he wasn't sure of what it meant. "I have heard many uses for that term," he said quietly.

"Honor is a code of ethics to live by," K'taro told Balin. "There are also values one tries to be true to such as honesty, endurance, bravery, and justice."

The other children were gathered around the table as they began eating the food, all of their plates were full of food but that was because these guys had not known proper nutrition before meeting Tienn, or anyone else in the Federation, for that matter.

Balin regarded the Klingon before him. "Why are you here?" he inquired of K'taro.

K'taro looked at Tienn. "Have you told them?"

Tienn nodded. "I told them you were my husband and that I was the mother of your child." she paused. "They do remember you."

"Errr right. Yes.." Balin answered quietly as he let out a sigh. "I shouldn't be around you," he added to K'taro. "I...am sorry. It's not you. Its the other Klingons..." he rose to his feet rather suddenly, knockings the half dozens PADD's around, one of them landed on the floor.

K'taro bent over to help pick up the PaDDs. "You will get used to me." He told Balin.

Balin felt the large Klingon male touch him, but before anyone realized what had happened. Balin lashed out at K'taro before he retreated across the room, his fur was all puffed up as he began looking for an escape route. "I needtogetouttahere!"

Tienn came over, to calm her son. "Balin... It's okay. K'taro meant no harm to you." as she tried to place her hand on his arm, he turned as he looked downright terrified. "Balin. Look at me... Look at me. It's going to be alright son. Nobody is going to harm you." she tried to soothe him.

Balin looked left and then right as if seeking escape.

K'taro threw up his arms. "I could come back later." He told Tienn.

"No." Tienn responded. "That would only make this worse. Balin needs to face this... and he will." she turned back to Balin. "Balin. Breathe slowly... You're hyperventilating. You need to calm down."

Balin blinked as he forced himself to breathe. "I'm. I'm sorry," he stammered quietly as he waited for K'taro to attack him.

Tienn stood in his field of vision. "It's going to be okay... Right K'taro?" she turned back to Balin. "You're just having a panic attack. He meant you no harm."

"No, no harm was done, little one," K'taro told Balin.

Tienn gently brushed her hands through his fur in an effort to calm her son down. "It's okay Balin. You reacted to what you saw as a threat."

Balin breathed out and then slowly back in again as he fought to calm down, he did not move or say anything for the next few minutes as the other four kits all finished their food and more or less remained out of the way. One of them looked up at K'taro. "So you are mom's mate. She spoke of you." R'Tashar commented while the young female peered up at him.

"Your mother speaks well of you," K'taro told her. "I hope she spoke well of me."

"She does." the small Caitian responded. "I don't think mom's ever said a bad thing about you."

Balin was the one who answered. "No. Mom speaks well of only a few Klingons and you were one of those," he explained quietly. "I should get back to learning how to count."

"Indeed, you should." K'taro agreed. "Skills in mathematics will serve you well in the Federation."

Balin nodded, processing what was said and what had just happened before he sat down at the table and went back to work on learning how to count.

Tienn let out the breath she didn't realize that she was holding, it all came out in a soft whoosh. "Well, that was different. I'm sorry K'taro. I did not expect that to happen." she paused. "Come on over here, let me have a look at your face," she commented as the small slash wound was gently weeping blood.

"Don't worry about me." K'taro smiled at Tienn. "I'm a warrior. I'm used to bleeding."

"I know," Tienn answered. "But you shouldn't have to bleed when visiting your mate," she added with a smile. "Come on, in the bathroom." as she gave him a sultry grin.

"You fuss too much Tienn." He told her as he followed.

Tienn went into the bathroom as she regarded him. "I'm your mate. I'm entitled," she responded as she closed the door behind him. "Its good to see you again," she added as she opened her medkit and went to work, tending to his face. "Balin didn't get you too badly. Mostly just a scratch, not worth keeping a scar."

"He is a little one. It is nothing but a scratch. I doubt it will scar." He replied.

Tienn gently peeled off her nightdress. "Yes. Well. What can I say." as she was standing before him, wearing nothing whatsoever.

K'taro smiled at her. "Are your kits asleep?"

"No," Tienn answered. "But the walls are soundproofed. I thought ahead and asked Engineering for the work." the small Bajoran responded with a grin. "Hey, I want to be able to sing in the shower and not make others wail in pain."

K'Taro pressed Tienn to the wall and began ravishing her. "You look beautiful." He told her as he worked her body up and down.

Tienn's response was a soft moan as she began removing his clothing. A wide smile on her lips. "I've missed you. I want this to be memorable," she added with a wide grin on her lips, while she felt his lips on her skin.
