Nightmare or Prophecy - Part Six

Mission: Mission 100: I'm Going to Ruin Somebody's Day
Location: Lost in the Mists of Space and Time
Timeline: January 29th, 2423 - Actual Date: 0915Hrs - July 12th, 2393

Lt Commander Elizabeth Yamaguchi-Solusar was seated in the lounge of the USS Gaarni as she was considering what she wished to order, she turned her head as she spotted Robert in the small gathering as she smiled. Her son had become a man she could be proud of but she knew she would have a nightmare of a time fitting back into his life again. The medical checks in sickbay had been educational and detailed but she knew why they had to be done.

Robert ordered the food for the two of them before he came back to the table a few moments later. "So... Anyone special in your life?" Elizabeth asked.

"No. I never really figured I'd settle down, not yet anyway." Robert responded. "All my relationships were short and tended to end badly. I was focused on my own mission, retracting the steps of the Unto the Breach and finding what happened to you." Robert explained.

Elizabeth had no idea of what to say to express herself to her son so she gently rubbed his mind instead before she steeled herself for what was to come. "So what happened after I was lost." as she quickly steeled her heart for the bad news to come."

Robert looked down at the pizza. "Dad blamed himself for what happened, he took his own life about a week after you were lost. I was taken in by Rachael Yamaguchi-Cullen. I came to call her mom but she made sure I never forgot who you or dad really was."

Elizabeth smiled sadly, she knew that she had a lot to deal with when she got home. "Kam was a good man, he deserved better then what he got."

"What happened to my lost sibling mom.?" Robert asked of her.

"I miscarried," Elizabeth answered quietly. "It was random really. My body didn't like something on the developing infant so it terminated the pregnancy without notice or warning." she paused. "the pain of it was something that I'll never forget. I blamed myself and I didn't listen to Kam. When I should have done." she paused. "We went from an easy relationship to one where we fought all the time, and then I walked out on him with demanding a field assignment, a month later I end up here and you're waking me up now," she explained. "I find myself face to face with my son, who's older then I am... and the last time I laid eyes on you was when you were maybe a year or so old."

"Mom, err that is Rachael, showed me memories and vids of you, she said you were the single most courageous person she'd ever known," Robert commented.

"Rachael.." Elizabeth paused. "What happened to her?" she paused, she did really want to know.

"The stresses of raising eight children became too much for her to handle while wearing the uniform so she got out, she's presently living on Utgarde Four with the rest of her family, many never joined Starfleet. Ennis settled down into private practice and Chen settled down to enjoy the quiet life of fishing that he had always wanted but could never have. Siaxx named her daughter for you."

Elizabeth paused, she had no idea that any of this had happened. "I'm sorry Robert."

Robert regarded her in silence. "Let me share a little something with you." and with that, he gently placed his hand over her face, his thumb crossed her nose as his hand covered her right eye, the base of his hand touched her mouth, Robert closed his eyes as he shared his life story with her.

Elizabeth's eyes opened wide as she felt his memories, they were a riot, a flood and she felt at risk from being washed away. "Rob.." she whimpered ever so softly.

Robert finished his download into his mothers mind, as she mentally took a few moments to process what he had shared with her, the loss of her and his father, going to live with and being raised by Rachael along with her other children, the challenges he had faced, the good things he had and the bad things too.

Robert regarded her as she gently ran her fingers through her hair. Before she gently reached for her son with her hand, she gently touched his face with her hand when suddenly, he seemed to fall apart as he crumbled into dust, everything around her seemed to fade as she found herself in a medical facility's food cafeteria. Elizabeth's eyes opened wide as she gasped. "Rob!" she screamed loudly.

Yamaguchi-Solusar glanced around. "Where are you...." as a sense of foreboding suddenly seized her. "Computer.?"

"Online." came the female response Yamaguchi-Solusar had come to know and hate at times. "What's the date today?" she asked with a sense of foreboding.

"The date is Stardate Seven Oh Five Two Six point Nine." came the expected answer.

Yamaguchi-Solusar felt overwhelmed with the memories that she had received from her son which she still remembered, only now he was gone as was his entire reality, she had never left the lunch room she had been taking a break in all along. "Rob... No.." she whimpered softly as she looked down, only to find the small bulge at her abdomen, which meant she was still pregnant. "Maybe there is still time to change fate," she whispered before she could no longer deny her emotions as she broke down weeping for her lost child, whose life would now lever come to pass.
