Mission: Mission 65: And Death Rained Down
Location: Outskirts of the Krios System
Timeline: 1800Hrs - February 12th, 2392

It was eighteen hundred hours the bridge of the USS Nightstalker and Commander Luhanna Wintersnow was off watch, her new relationship with Lt Commander Jordal Hunt was proceeding quietly.

The two were sharing a meal in the messhall. "Ever think the Klingons will figure their crap out and smarten up?" Wintersnow inquired as she regarded him with an impish smile.

"Well that really depends on who you ask.. Makar would say yes but Duras would say no." the massive Trill male responded bluntly before he shrugged his shoulders while the com system beeped. "Captain to the bridge, we have a situation."

Wintersnow tapped her combadge. "I'm on my way." she regarded Jordal. "You'd best come too." as she gave him an zesty grin.

"Right behind you." he responded in a deadpan tone.

Wintersnow meanwhile was walking out the door as Hunt followed, the two went into the hallway moments later. "Stop staring at my ass." Wintersnow commented.

"Why?... Its sexy..." and with that he grasped her tail before he gently pulled on it twice.

Wintersnow chuckled softy. "You can't know what you seek from me." she decided to let him down gently.

"Why?." he inquired with amusement. "Maybe I have designs on you."

"Well lets just say its lewd. Too lewd for these halls." Wintersnow responded. "However... if you insist.. I will... show you later."

Hunt chuckled softly as the two of them entered the bridge. "Report?" Wintersnow proceeded to sit down in the command chair.

The Operations Officer who was a chief petty officer, turned his head. "Sir.. I'm reading several ships in a nearby system."

"We're still cloaked?." she inquired.

"Yessir." came the expected response.

"Mmm.. very well. Alter course and slow to warp six."

Wintersnow watched as the ships course changed before they entered the system in question minutes later. "Slow to impulse." she commented.

The starlines faded to stars as one of the planets in the system appeared on the screen. "Locate the ships in question."

"I already got them.. Located orbiting the ninth planet."

Wintersnow slowly smiled. "Move us into position slowly.." she commented. "Cut main power.. I don't want these guys to have any ideas whatsoever that we are present.."

The lights dimmed and darkness reigned as Luhanna smiled softly as she noticed the ships beginning to appear on the large viewscreen.
"Status?"

"I'm reading com traffic between the ships gathered..." came the unexpected response.

"Mmm.. really indeed?" she slowly smiled. "Move us in closer. Let's see if we can eavesdrop on this little meeting."

Jordal Hunt nodded his head as he checked the passive sensor array in the primary sensor housing, it was primed and ready before he turned. "We're ready to go over here."

"Excellent." Wintersnow responded evenly.

The conn officer added. "We're coming into position now... We must remain motionless."

"Very well, hold us here Ensign.." Wintersnow turned to Hunt. "Activate the sensor array Commander and lets see what the trap has snared."

The display lit up with five Klingons clustered around a table. Several of them wore military uniforms but two wore nondescript civilian clothing.

"I have sworn to you. I and my House stand ready to support your claim. But we must know the exact nature of your plans before we declare ourselves publicly." one of the more ornate looking officers assembled, exclaimed loudly.

The older looking civilian simply rolled his eyes "I do not want you to declare yourselves publicly. At the proper time, I will reveal everything. Until then, you will wait... patiently." there was something snide in his tone of voice.

"Wait?! There is no Chancellor.. The Empire is at its weakest now! The time to strike is now!" the Klingon mashed his fist into the table twice to underscore his point.

The civilian leader scoffed. "I will ascend and take my rightful place as leader of the Klingon people. It is my destiny. But it will happen in a fashion of my own choosing. You may follow me and share in the glory to come, or not. The choice is yours. But if you will follow, you will obey. " The civilian growled at the three military officers. "DECIDE!." he paused a moment. "If you fear the risks, I will waste no more words and count you amongst my enemies."

The General slowly and finally nods his head. "Good. Now leave. You may beam directly out of these chambers. I will contact each of you in the weeks to come."

As he said that the message cut out and the starfield returned to the viewscreen. "Captain. I'm detecting transport activity..." the Ops officer commented.

"The Klingon ships are getting underway.." Hunt reported in a calm tone. "We should leave at once skipper."

"Helm... take us out slowly then once the last of the Klingons have gotten underway. Take us to warp four point two and resume our patrol route."

Hunt and the bridge crew nodded as they went to work, a short time later the USS Nightstalker was clear before she, the last remaining ship in the system jumped away.
