Location: Various Locations - USS Dreamcrusher

Commander Tom Lasky regarded Commander Celeste Yamaguchi. "I'm here to visit one of your patients."

"Who?" Celeste smiled as she regarded her visitor.

"Commander Benice."

"Ahh she's in room four and she's cranky."

"Lovely." Lasky responded. "Thank you." and with that he turned and went over to the room, before he knocked on the door.

"I told you I wanted to be left alone!" came the highly irate tone of Gyce.

Lasky raised an eyebrow. "I will leave you alone but.... I just want a few minutes of your time... then I will depart." he responded.

"What is it then?" Gyce had frustration in her voice. Mostly from walking clumsily back and forth the far wall of her room. She wanted to master herself.

Lasky opened the door as he entered. "Benice..." he commented softly. "Have a seat." he paused.

"All right..." Gyce looked at him skeptically as she wiped the seat of her arm with a towel before she reached for her walker and dragged herself painfully back to her bed.

"You know eventually I'm going to get offered my own command.... I want you as my Exec." he paused. "You are capable, you've shown your skills time and again, you can work with people and you have a soft and nurturing side to you.." Lasky explained to her. "I think you are capable of so much more... but in case Starfleet security decides to shaft you on your career. Command is a good backup... but you won't need to run the away teams... We have people to handle that.."

"I plan to run away teams again," Gyce spoke with determination.

"I'd prefer that you did not." Lasky responded. "But thats me!"

"I guess... Starfleet Medical could use this injury to eject me though," Gyce spoke realistically.

"Which is why a backup will help." Lasky responded. "Command would be a good fit for you."

Gyce adjusted the terrycloth belt around her waist before she sighed in resignation. "You're right... It would be. Not like anyone takes my arrest warrant requests seriously as it is."

"Well... as my Exec, they would.." Lasky responded. "Depends on the ship I'm offered of course." he rumbled. "I assume you will maintain your SCIS credentials?"

"Commander Avok believes it makes sense to have a trained agent here. So yes, I don't see him revoking my badge," Gyce answered, thought she did not like thinking about the other possibility - not using her leg properly ever again.

Lasky regarded her. "Fair enough... so you will need to work with my Chief of Security instead of doing his or her job for her."

"Of course," Gyce agreed. "I would not want to do someone else's job for them."

"But habits die hard." Lasky responded. "You will always think like a security officer, even if I tell you not to so.... I'm not going to waste my breathe or your time on the matter." he deadpanned. "Just consider it... Is all I'm asking."

"I shall Sir," Gyce promised.

"Alright... Then I will get out of here and leave you.... to it." Lasky responded. "Do you have any questions before I leave?" he inquired of her.

"I don't... and I thank you for considering me," Gyce pointed wholeheartedly.

"Your welcome." and with that Lasky took his leave.
