Mission: Mission 57: The Northern Lights
Location: Various Locations - USS Roanoke
Timeline: 1900Hrs - January 24th, 2392

Warrant Officer Rachael Yamaguchi was seated at the table with Saki and Sarah, Daniel was in his little chair at the end of the table next to Rachael. Ennis was working late as he often did. "Now I asked the fifth person to join us... hopefully shell get here soon."

Saki regarded her mother in silence as Rachael looked at Saki. "Saki. You know I can hear you thinking... right?"

"Yes mom."

"I'm finished with my schooling.. So I have more time for you guys now" Rachael explained as the door opened and in walked Commodore Zara Tane.

"Zara!" Saki Yelled at the top of her lungs.

Rachael rose to her feet. "Stay here you two... I'll go fetch her." as Rachael went over to Zara. "We must talk... Do you want to come over and share a meal with us... Saki misses you."

Much guilt was in her eyes as she looked upon Saki. "...It's up to you."

"I have a few things I want to say to you... Saki has her own take.. Sarah and Daniel are here too... Have you met either of them?" Rachael inquired.

"Sarah sometimes comes with Saki, when she wants to help me in my engineering lab," Zara answered as she followed Rachel inside.

Rachael went back to her table as she indicated a chair for Zara to sit down at. Saki regarded Zara with a smile. "Alright.. you guys decided what you wanted to order yet?"

Saki paused. "I was thinking of the cheeseburger.. " she admitted. "With an oreo milkshake."

"That can be arranged... I didn't think you liked Oreo cookies."

"Dad introduced me to them a few weeks ago... Said I needed something other then rabbit food." Saki explained.

Rachael shook her head. "I should have guessed..." as Daniel indicated what he wanted. "Okay sweetie." Rachael smiled. "So.. Zara... What are you going to have?" before Saki handed Zara a menu. Rachael turned to Sarah. "What'll ya have sweetie?"

"Oreo milkshake for me," Zara spoke awkwardly. She did not feel right around these people after what happened.

Rachael flagged down a waiter so she could place everyone's orders. The man thanked her before he went to place their order with the kitchen. "Okay.. Zara.." Rachael regarded the older woman. "I am not against you spending time with Saki..." she paused as Saki protested. Rachael raised her hand. "However.. your actions have at times been a great mystery to me. So... you will be supervised when you spend time with her or my other children." Rachael explained.

"If Saki still wants my friendship, then I will accept your rules." Zara could not look upon Saki for obvious reasons, but her acceptance was heartfelt.

Saki was silent as Rachael nodded once. "Considering Saki ... speaks to me on the matter at length." as she regarded her biological child. "She has been most insistent on the matter." as Rachael regarded Saki. "I think you need to be enrolled into some organized sports young lady. I'm also going to ask Ennis to teach you and me how to surf.."

Saki smiled. "Really... I've been wondering how it works.."

"Oh it's very similar to skateboarding," Sarah explained. "You wanna center yourself on the board and turn against the wave to ride inside of it."

Saki blinked her eyes once as Rachael inquired. "What about balance?"

"That comes with experience," Sarah answered. "You start with shallow waves. Some people like being on the tail of the board. Others a little further up. But being direct middle gives you little control of the fin."

Rachael nodded. "Okay." she responded. "Zara.?" she inquired a moment later.

"I snowboard and run, when I'm not tinkering." Zara was unsure why Rachael wanted to get to know her, but she answered all the same.

"I'm going to ask... that you teach Saki both when she wants to run..." Rachael explained. "Teach her how to snowboard.. I'm sure Saki will appreciate that."

"I can do that," Zara agreed with an awkward head bob.

Saki smiled. "Yay!" she responded as Rachael held her silence. "Zara... Let me explain my position a little more clearly... I don't have issues with you spending time with Saki here on the ship or in the battlegroup.. its when you are planetside I worry... Considering." she paused. "Anyway. Lets eat.."
