Mission: Mission 57: The Northern Lights
Location: Various Locations - USS Dreamcrusher
Timeline: 1000Hrs - January 13th - 2392

Commander Celeste Yamaguchi was seated behind her desk as she regarded the small hologram floating before her, it was of her soon to be infant son. "Okay..." she mused aloud as she pointed to it with a stylus the taller woman held in her right hand.

Celeste then sipped her glass of water as she frowned, which she seemed to do a lot most days now while she adjusted to serving as a baby carrier for a child she was confused about.

She noticed Brianna Hobbs entering sickbay. "Mornin' Brianna...Whats on your mind?" as Celeste sat back in her chair.

Brianna looked at Celeste. "You haven't been your self lately. Just wanted to see if your alright."

"I've just been concerned about this little guy.." she indicated the hologram floating above her desk. "That... is my unborn and now I know the gender." she paused. "He will also inherit his... donar's crest and looks..." Celeste explained flatly.

"But he isn't a clone is he?" Brianna asked. "And I assume he has a name?"

"No... He is not a clone.." Celeste raised an eyebrow as she regarded her girlfriend. "No... I've not yet come up with a name." she admitted.

"Okay, your son deserves a name." Brianna smiled. "You'll humanize him easier. Both of you deserve to forget what happened."

Yamaguchi indicated the chair for Brianna to sit down. "A name.." she paused before she let out a sigh. "I have no ideas of names.... to be honest.."

Brianna took a seat. "So your son's name hasn't crossed your mind yet?"

"No... I never thought about it... to be honest.." Yamaguchi responded quietly.

"Okay, do you have any ideas?" Brianna asked.

Yamaguchi paused. "There is my great uncle.. a man named Jackson." she paused. "He was killed in the Cardassian Boarder Wars defending a Civilian transport.." she explained softly. "We don't often honor our heroes.."

"Jackson sounds like a good name." Brianna replied. "Jackson Yamaguchi."

Celeste raised an eyebrow as she regarded the hologram. "Jackson." she then looked down towards her midsection where her unborn was sleeping inside of her. "A good name.." she paused. "So... what else are you here for?" Yamaguchi inquired. "Other then worrying about me."

"Just here on business. A few eyes to dot and tees to cross." Brianna told her.

Yamaguchi gently placed a hand over her abdomen. "Ahh.." she paused before she looked at Brianna. "I want to make sure there are no complications..."

Brianna nodded. "You come from a good stock of lineage. Jackson should grow up tall and strong."

"I hope so." Yamaguchi responded quietly. "I sometimes wonder.." she sighed.

"I don't, you and the baby will be fine." Brianna replied.

"I wish I had your strength.." Yamaguchi admitted. "At times I feel so..." she stopped. "weak?, helpless.."

"My strength?" Hobbs responded. "I get my motivation from you. Ever time I feel like I can't go on I find fortitude from your resolve."

Yamaguchi blinked as she regarded her girlfriend, as if she had grown two heads. "My resolve?.... I've been a spineless piece of flotsam since that event back in September." she admitted. "All I have left... is you... and my work.."

"You were psychologically injured." Brianna told her. "If you had broken bones it would be unrealistic for you to go back to work right away. You had your spirit broken and your healing from those invisible injuries."

Yamaguchi regarded her girlfriend as she frowned softly. "I sometimes wonder... He did what he did to me... to get to you."

"I'm not going to try and crawl into his convoluted mind." Brianna stated. "What he did he did and it was evil and without justification."

"I'm glad he's dead.." Yamaguchi said without emotion. What she said was in a dark flat tone of voice. "I hate him for what he did to me." she added a moment later.

"I'm glad he's dead too but this really isn't about him anymore." Bri looked down and smiled at Celeste's enlarged stomach. "Jackson is going to need all the love and support he can get."

"Its not Jackson's fault that I ended up like this." Yamaguchi responded. "I was willing to wait before having a child.." she let out a quiet sigh.

"Sometimes you can't put blessings on a timetable." Brianna told Celeste.

"I wanted to wait.." Yamaguchi responded. "Before having children.." she added quietly. "Now... I have no choice... I'm stuck having this baby now."

"Don't make Jackson sound like a burden." Brianna told her. "You want him to grow up strong and make his mother proud."

"I do." Yamaguchi admitted before she turned off the hologram before her before she looked down at her slowly expanding midsection. "I don't know anymore.."

Brianna was both concerned and uncertain. "Can you explain your feelings better?"

"I... I can't." Yamaguchi responded. "I have no idea what I want..." she added softly.

Brianna shook her head in agreement. "This must be very hard for you?"

Yamaguchi regarded Hobbs. A haunted look in her eyes. "The hardest battle I've ever faced..."

Brianna was unsure what to say. "You were a good mother to two Andorians."

"But they came to me as young children."

"And you did a stellar job." Brianna told her. "You weren't expecting to be a mother than either."

"No... But that was something I had prepared for... Andorian customs are rather... specific.." Yamaguchi responded evenly. "This time... It was forced on me.."

Brianna was silent for a moment to collect her thoughts. "While I'm not endorsing this idea you know you can always abort the child?" Brianna told Celeste.

"I know..." Yamaguchi responded. "I've thought about it now for many weeks... and yet... I can't blame the child for his doner being an asshole.."

"No, you can't and it is not in you to do so." Brianna told her. "You have a big heart and now you have the opportunity to share it."

Yamaguchi paused before she burst into tears at that point.

Brianna went besides her. "This is a hard road for you but I think you'll be better off."

Yamaguchi wiped her eyes as she regarded the other woman. "How so?"

"You'll have a son. He will be a reflection of you and your legacy." Brianna explained to Celeste in a soft voice.

"My son.... Will be better then the donar... One way... or another."

"Jackson will be a wonderful addition to our family." she told her.

"I hope so." Yamaguchi sounded unsure.

"I have no doubt." Brianna told Celeste. "Jackson's mother is too strong."

"Strength... " Yamaguchi responded as she exhaled and then inhaled. "After what that..... what he did to me." she finished. "I don't know.."

Brianna was getting frustrated but held back a sigh. She turned off the hologram of Jackson. "Enough of that. You need to either throw yourself into work or come with me down to the colony for some rest."

Yamaguchi regarded Hobbs before she set down her stylus. "After you then." as she rose to her feet. Her assistant Chief was coming around the corner. "Ahh Doctor. I'm glad I caught you before you fled the asylum." she seemed to be in good spirts. "The Colonel will be taking you off of my hands... excellent."

"Wait... you knew about this?"

"I know everything that happens under my roof... and I mean... everything." Stevenson responded bluntly. "and yes... you do need a vacation Celeste. You are way too addicted to work... so... consider yourself evicted and I will take over as the New Chief Medical Officer."

"This is mutiny.." Yamaguchi responded. "You can't do this to me!"

"Oh no?" Stevenson responded. "As acting Chief Medical Officer... Celeste... Shut up and get out. You can have your post back in two weeks... and before you protest, Yes.. Commander McKnight is in on this little affair."

Celeste looked at Brianna. "Did you know about this?"

"Um..." Brianna tried to avoid the question. "We are worried about you. Your not yourself."

Yamaguchi sighed softly. "Fine... You win mutineer." and with that she allowed Hobbs to walk her out the door and down the hall. "How long have they been planning this little drama?"

"Just this morning." Brianna admitted. "We are worried about you, Celeste."

Yamaguchi regarded the other woman as she let out a sigh. "So... what am I packing to go to the planet?"

"You packing nothing. We can get what need on the planet. Off to the transporters." Brianna told Celeste.

"Lovely.." Celeste responded. "So... a tropical resort or a polar paradise?"

"March to the transporter room Commander." Brianna ordered while pointing the direction.

Yamaguchi growled something under her breathe as she started marching down the hallway. Something about mutinies and marines and bullheaded women. Minutes later she reached her destination. "So.. where are we going?"

Brianna looked over at Celeste but said nothing. She looked at the tech running the transporter. "Energize us to the coordinates I gave you." The tech nodded and the two women were away.

As they materialized it was clear they were on a tropical island. Brianna immediately started to strip. "You're going to be hot in that uniform." She told Celeste.

Yamaguchi paused as she looked around. "Where are we?" she inquired as she regarded Hobbs with a glare. "Are we seriously... going to remain here... for two weeks?" the tall woman inquired.

"Two weeks? No, not that long but a few days yes." Brianna replied. "For now just enjoy yourself."

"Enjoy myself?" Yamaguchi responded. "How so.... We're stuck on a desert island... in the middle of nowhere... no supplies, no... nothing and how do I enjoy myself.?" she inquired as she regarded her girlfriend with a questioning look on her face.

Brianna, who was now completely nude, headed off to the beach. "You worry too much."

Yamaguchi sighed softly as she regarded Hobbs or rather her retreating figure before she let out a soft sigh before she looked up at the star this world orbited. It had an orangish hue rather then the golden yellow of Sol or the twins of Alpha Centauri.

Yamaguchi sent a glowering look towards the beach where Hobbs had disappeared off to. "I worry too much... because you don't worry at all.." as she tapped her combadge only to find that it had been deactivated.

Yamaguchi felt herself beginning to perspire as she sat down on a fallen log as she looked out over the beach. "This... is not what I wanted to do today.." she muttered to herself as she closed her eyes, as she attempted to meditate.

"Why aren't you out here?" Brianna yelled. "The water is lovely! Your missing everything!"

Yamaguchi opened one eye as she sighed. "I hate you." she growled as she rose to her feet before she began stripping off her clothing, she sighed as she looked around as if wanting to see if anyone else was around.

Yamaguchi paused as she couldn't see anyone, however that doesn't mean anything really so she finished stripping off her clothing, the cool breeze felt cold against her warm skin, causing her goosebumps.
