Mission: Mission 54: Where Snow Meets Sky
Location: Various Locations - USS Argonne
Timeline: 0900 Hrs - December 24, 2391

Daisy went to sickbay before Orthos and Edward. She had been quarantined until Dr. Anjou could examine her. As Orthos entered sickbay he was greeted by Anjou.

"Hello Master Chief, your wife is in quarantine. If you don't mind, I would like to examine Edward myself instead of a nurse." He told the veteran NCO.

McKnight regarded Anjou. "Quarantine?" Orthos inquired. "Details please Doctor?" before he handed the small infant over. "No.. I don't mind at all... but whats going on with my wife?"

Anjou put his hands up. "Just a precaution. I'm not familiar with xeno viruses and I don't want to take any chances." He looked at the infant Edward, "May I?"

Edward regarded Anjou in silence as his father handed him over. "I see." he responded flatly. "Where is she?"

"She is in the next room." Anjou told Orthos. Anjou then scanned Edward. "I see..." He said to himself. After a moment of looking over the data he collected her turned to Orthos. "Master Edward is one of the healthiest people on this vessel."

Orthos gently took back his son. "Thank you." he responded as he regarded Anjou. "I'm going to visit my wife.."

"I'm going to run some tests on your wife now." Anjou told Orthos. "Your welcome to come and observe."

"Yes." Orthos responded. "I will be there for this... I think she would benefit from having her husband and child as company." before he followed Anjou to where Daisy was waiting.

"Hello Major." Anjou greeted her and Daisy nodded back. 'I'm going to run a few scans of your body and examine what the computer finds, alright?"

Daisy just nodded, a little apprehensive. "Good." Anjou stated and ran his fingers over a nearby console. A wide beam of bluish light bathed Daisy for a moment.

"Hmm, well it appears there are no toxins or viruses in your body." Anjou told her. "Computer: Major Rohr is no longer under quarantine."

Daisy looked a little relaxed but something was bothering her. "Thank you Dr. Anjou but... I still feel ill."

"Alright, I'll look closer at you scan." Anjou replied. "Can you tell me how you feel?"

"I just feel fatigued and nauseous all the time." Daisy replied.

Anjou kept looking over the display. "Oh, well that's because your pregnant."

Daisy's mouth hit the floor. "That can't be right. Are you sure?"

"Major, any medtech could tell you that with a tricorder. I'm the best doctor on this ship and I just ran a complete test on you. Your pregnant."

Orthos raised an eyebrow. "Daisy... Congratulations." he regarded her with a smile as he recovered quickly from his shock.

"Yes, congratulations Major and Master Chief." Anjou smiled. "I need you to make a follow up appointment for your child. In the meantime your free to go."

"Um, thanks." Daisy replied to Anjou. Daisy looked at Orthos but said nothing, not able to make eye contact.

Orthos regarded his wife in silence before he turned to Anjou. "Thank you Doctor." as he turned back to Daisy. "Shall we go?". He inquired. "Edward has missed you."

Daisy just nodded as she got up and followed Orthos out into the corridor. As they walked back to quarters Daisy finally said something. "i don't understand, I took precautions."

"I know. I was there most of the times when you took those precautions." Orthos gently put their son to bed before he turned to his wife. "Tell me something... wife of mine. What is bothering you." as he smiled warmly at her. "Do you think this will be a burden to me..... or to you?" he inquired of her. "Well... don't... We will manage this little plot twist in the drama of our lives the same as we have everything else... like that incident with Olga Vaal. That incident with the transporter tech who was hitting on you and the other incidents of drama we've both faced..."

Daisy nodded in agreement. "I know I should be happy. It's just that I wasn't expecting it. I feel guilty that I might not be spending enough time with Edward. Now I have another child to think about."

"You worry too much." Orthos responded with a smile. "Edward spends time with the both of us and he talks to you often on subspace." he added. "We will be fine.. with two children or three or six or ten." he said simply.

"Ten children?" Daisy blinked then returned to the problem at hand. "If I'm going to have this child I'm going to the reserves until our children are older."

Orthos regarded his wife. "But that'll scuttle your career.." he responded quietly. "You worked so hard for what you have.."

"I'm already ahead of were I need to be." Daisy told him. "Besides, our children come first."

Orthos regarded her as he pulled her onto his knee. "Why not transfer out of the Marines.. and into the navy... I know a few people looking for people for their commands.. Besides.. there are a few changes happening around the battlegroup, people coming and going... that sort of thing.... What are your skills.... what can do you do?" he inquired of her. "Daisy, you are more then you let on... I've seen it... Mom saw it too.. So did my other children.."

Daisy sighed and stared at the floor. "Maybe I want to be a full time mother?"

Orthos regarded his wife. "Fair enough..." he responded quietly. "What will you do?"

"I'm thinking I will live in your quarters." daisy suggested, not sure if Orthos would agree. "It would just be until the youngest started kindergarten. Then I would return to the fleet."

"I'm okay with that." Orthos responded. "So... Would you do anything other then stay home and look after the kids?" he paused. "I can talk to the Commander of the Marines on Watchman, get you assigned there in their HQ unit... If... you want."

"That sounds like it might be a good idea." Daisy agreed. "I will think about that. I'm not sure what I want to do yet?"

"Alright... Then I will leave it with you. Let me know what you want to do... when you decide okay?" Orthos responded. "I'll talk to a few people when you decide and help get things into gear."

Daisy just nodded her head. "Thanks. I guess since I'm going to home a lot more now I should learn to cook."

Orthos regarded her, a quiet smile on his face. "Well that depends... Do you want to learn because you are home or do you want to learn for yourself?" he inquired. "most get their ingredients from the replicator. However there are some I know who don't.." he paused. "At the end of the day.... is it for you... or for them?"

Daisy thought for a moment. "Maybe a little of both. I know food tastes better when cooked whole and I want whats best for our children." Daisy told him. "I'm also feel so helpless watching you turn supplies into a meal."

Orthos smiled. "Then I will teach you the basics for now.." he responded. "The key to success is consistency. Also the other key is not worrying about things... either the souffle will rise... or it won't. Nothing you can do... Sometimes you will create bad dishes that look awful but will taste great." he smiled. "You remember that blue colored chocolate sponge cake with too much orange flavoring in it?"

"How could I forget?" Daisy answered. "I'm not one to experiment with something I'm going to digest. I like to follow recipes."

"I added too much coloring and flavoring. Edward liked it though." Orthos responded. "So I'll dig out my old recipe books and see what I have for you. Anywhere you want to start?"

Daisy thought for a moment. "Dinner maybe?"

"Alright." Orthos responded. "Then.. I will teach you what you need to know k?"

Daisy nodded her head. "Thank you."
