Location: Yamaguchi Quarters - USS Spirit of Winter

Lieutenant Ajal was mystified by the request by two of her Engineers to put up a Christmas tree in Engineering, she was told that it would improve morale so she approved it, her staff was mostly human so she simply shrugged. "So long as it doesn't make a mess. Its approved."

The two engineers went to work and before long there were six people working on the tree. Ajal raised an eyebrow as she dismissed the issue from her concerns as she turned away from it.

She made her way over to the island as she tapped the display, everything was status quo and the boredom was showing on her face.

"Sir... You okay?"

Ajal turned her head to regard the person who had spoken to her. "I am fine Ensign." she responded with a soft tone. "Are you looking for work..?"

"No.. I was just passing by... Thanks for letting us has the Christmas tree.."

"You are welcome." Ajal responded. "I confess... I do not understand this Terran Holiday."

"Its... complicated sir." the Ensign responded with a smile. "It has something to do with gift giving and receiving." he explained to the woman who was much taller then he himself was. "

Ajal listened to his explanation, getting more and more mystified as the conversation went on, before she gently placed a hand on his shoulder to silence him. "Okay.. I'll look it up." she admitted. "It sounds.... interesting."

"Giving the newbies a hard time skipper?" Chief Petty Officer Eric Davis approached

"Its more appropriate to say they are giving me a hard time Chief." Ajal responded. "Ensign Roberts was regaling me about the Terran holiday called... Christmas."

"Oh... He was eh?" Davis responded. "Its fifteen hundred sir... You calling it a day?"

"Yes." Ajal responded with a smile. "I must meet Autumn for baseball practice."

"Swinging a bat and hitting things is guaranteed to clean up stress." Davis responded with a smile. "Off with you then sir. go... have fun. I got this."

Ajal smiled as she went over to one of the unused stations, she quickly called up the timeclock before she punched herself out. "Davis... you know what to do." as she gave him a look before the six foot tall Klingon woman departed engineering.

She went down the hallway towards her destination, the new quarters that she shared with Autumn, the two had only moved in just recently and they were still dealing with space issues and the like. Ajal was often home before Autumn herself was.

Ajal walked into their quarters and once again, she was the first one home. "No Autumn... not a surprise." Ajal muttered aloud as she went into the master bedroom, before she began stripping out of her clothing, down to her skin as she left out a soft sigh before she went into the master bathroom which was attached to the bedroom.

She turned on the water and stepped into the shower, allowing a soft contented sigh to escape her lips as the water washed over her dusky skin.

Five minutes or so later, Autumn Yamaguchi returned home, she could hear the shower running as a smile graced her lips, she followed Ajal into the bathroom as she stripped off her clothing, she opened the door to find Ajal leaning against the back wall, enjoying the hot water. "Ahh... Autumn, I was just.... thinking of you." Ajal smiled.

"Got room for one more?" Autumn inquired, a grin on her face.

"Mmm.... please do." Ajal gently took her hands in her own before she drew the smaller human woman to her before she closed the shower door.

Thirty minutes later, the two were lying on the bed, all dried off as Ajal regarded the smaller human. "Tell me about Christmas."

"Oh thats a long winded and complicated story... Its also changed a lot over the last several hundred years... Why?"

"The engineering crew were talking about it and they got permission from me to put up a tree in Main Engineering."

Autumn was astonished. "Really... I didn't think you'd do it.."

"Why not?" the large Klingon woman inquired. "Just because I am not human does not mean I can't appreciate their holidays... Besides.. isn't that the purpose of Starfleet, to seek out and to explore?"

Autumn blinked her eyes. "Thats.... one way of exploration.." she said for lack of anything better to say.

"But you agree right?" Ajal inquired as she peered at the smaller woman next to her.

"I do." Autumn admitted.

"Besides, exploration comes in many forms, I am not here just to teach others about the Klingons, I am here to learn about other cultures... If this means that I learn about... interesting holidays then so be it..." the larger woman shrugged. "So.... do you feel like hitting something?"

"You want to swing a baseball bat?" Autumn inquired.

"I do... I've been anticipating it all day.."

"Alright... Then lets go." as the two women of very different sizes got off the bed and began to don clothing, moments later they were out the door, heading to their destination.
