Two Glasses and a Kurokuri

Posted on Tue Mar 3rd, 2020 @ 1:57am by Commander John 'Nuke Em' Sheridan & Major Sir Bruce "Scorch" Fraser, 15th Baron Fraser of North Cape & Company Sergeant Major Jeffery "The Mountain" Duval

Mission: Mission 51: Warchild
Location: Various Locations - USS Roanoke
Timeline: 1200Hrs Local Time - November 22nd

Lieutenant John Sheridan went into the lounge, his uniform was torn and filthy but he didn't have the heart to change out of his destroyed uniform jacket, just behind him was Captain Bruce Fraser, more commonly known as 'Scorch'. Both men looked downright angry as they both sat down at the bar.

"Barkeep?"

Duval regarded the two angry men with a look. "Gentlemen. I assume its been a rough mission?"

"Chen's dead."

"McDougal's gone too."

Duval knew exactly who both men were talking about, both were students and protege's of the two before him. "I assume you want something to drink?"

"We do... yes... Got any Black Bush Irish Whiskey back there?"

"I do yes.... Let me go see what I have....." and with that Duval withdrew.

Sheridan sighed. "Fuck there are days..."

"Amen brother.." Scorch responded.

Both Aerin and Karryn walked into the green dragon, taking a seat at the bar not far from Sheridan and Scorch. Karryn asked Aerin. "So how crazy did it get there."

Aerin smoothed out his ruffled fur. "Crazy enough. I'm damn near out of energy. It got real bad once snipers started taking shots a the evacuating civilians. Spent most of my time keeping an energy shield up to protect them, I didn't get much time to do anything else. Though if you ask me, that mob armed themselves a little too quickly after that kid got stunned."

Sheridan turned his head as he regarded the Chief of Tactical. "You think errr.. that this was all deliberate.... That we were set up for failure?"

Scorch paused as he clearly he not thought about this where as Sheridan had. "Son of a bitch..." he said softly. "So... our people..."

"Died for nothing." Sheridan answered.

"Thats just not right." Scorch responded. "and.. yeah they did die for something.... they died for us."

Aerin looked over at Sheridan, That mod was armed a little too well, and things escalated a little to quickly for that to be a random event. If i had to guess, I say that governor didn't want to play by the federations rules anymore, so he deliberately riled up the planet. Once more while I was there, I noticed propaganda posters, ones that claimed the federation was a dictatorship just like the dominion."

Scorch paused in silence as he fumed.

Sheridan raised an eyebrow. "Yes, that all makes sense." he commented. "I never saw the posters however."

Scorch raised an eyebrow "So... someone set us up for failure..."

Sheridan nodded. "Yep."

Aerin shrugged. "Thats what it seems like. Now whom is being set up I have no idea, but I know Seykai is looking into the matter, so we will find out soon enough."

Duval returned with two bottles. "Gentlemen." he addressed the small gathering. "I have a Forty eight and a sixty one... both of them are relatively decent years.."

Sheridan nodded. "They'll be fine, thanks Sergeant Major." he responded. "Pour yourself one too.."

Duval poured the various glasses as he slid them to the two men before him. "What can I get for you two?" he inquired of the two Kurokuri.

Karryn was quick on her decision," Vanilla milkshake."

Aerin was a little slower but soon asked for the same.

Duval nodded. "Done." and with that he turned and went into the kitchen to place the order.

Sheridan drained his glass. "Mmm...." before he poured himself another glass. "Well guys.." he paused as he regarded the glass in his hands. "Lets ask god to look after our friends.... may they rest in peace.."

Scorch nodded as he raised his glass. "In the memory of our friends..."

"Amen.."
