Ardent Prayer - Part One

Location: Various Locations - USS Roanoke
Timeline: 1000Hrs - November 22nd. 2391

Saki Yamaguchi eyed Zara Tane dubiously. "I wanna know who my biological father is... I know its not Dad... y'know?" the eight-year-old asked of Zara as she let out a dramatic sigh. "Nobody seems to want to help me with it...."

Zara smiled as she picked the girl up and sat in on the couch beside her. Then she passed a PADD over to Saki.

Saki accepted the PADD with her left hand. "Okay.." she paused. "So... What do you want me to do again?" the small child inquired.

"Take notes. Because the first thing you need to do is ask someone in the medical department that doesn't know you, for a birth certificate for some sport activity."

Saki began jotting down notes in silence. "Okay.... what else?"

"Then you look for your dad's name on it. Then you go to the computer and have them do a search," Zara explained hopefully. "That should tell you where he is. And once that happens, you can write to him about you."

"Okay." Saki responded.

"I never knew your dad but I think Phoenix or some of the other former 400 folk have," Zara explained to the kid.

Saki nodded, her next destination was clear. "Go see Phoenix. Kay." she responded. "Then sickbay..." as she jotted down notes.

"Yeah... But don't tell Phoenix why you're asking about him. Just find out who he is. Cause she's a smart cookie," Zara explained.

Saki eye'ed Zara curiously. "Oh, you want me to lie about it... okay." she knew full well that Phoenix and her mother would see clear through it. "Mmmm..." before she stopped herself. "Ooohh right... sickbay first then Phoenix." she exclaimed. "they'll see it." Saki babbled quickly.

"You may want to make sure Phoenix is in a great mood too, before you start asking questions," Zara suggested quietly.

"Okay." Saki responded, as she bobbed her head.

"You need help, let me know. OK?" Zara offered warmly. "I didn't get a great relationship with my dad. So I hope you get yours."

Saki smiled as she finished. "Kay.... so... did I miss anything?" she handed her PADD to Zara with her notes on it.
