Commander Celeste Yamaguchi was at home as she smiled at the glass of juice placed next to her on her right, she took a hold of the glass before lifted it to her lips, she swallowed a mouthful before placing the glass back on the table.
The Andorian Shen who sat opposite her regarded her next move most carefully as she looked at the mess the chessboard had become. Red and Black pieces everywhere.
Pava was red and she was losing, Celeste had several more pieces on the board then she did and she had also lost her queen early on thanks to a rather risky move to checkmate Celeste's king which didn't work.
Celeste closed her eyes as she took a moment to enjoy the peace and quiet. "You okay Mom?"
"Yes.. I'm alright." Celeste smiled a moment later before opening her eyes, the twins asked her that question on average of ten times a day.
Pasha meanwhile was in the main living area, he was busy doing pushups while he waited for his sibling to finish losing so he could play Chess against the woman who had taken him and his twin in when they had no clan of their own.
Suddenly the main door opened and in came Brianna Hobbs. Pasha noticed as he effortlessly stood up with the grace that would have made a dancer blush. "Mom. Brianna's home!" he called out as he regarded the disheveled Marine. "You okay Bri?" he inquired.
""I've been better Pasha." Hobbs replied.
Pasha smiled. "Well... Its good to see you." he responded cheerfully. "The ladies are over there.."
"I will make you cringe." came Pava's voice. "I can still win."
"Sure... I tell ya what... Loser buys dinner." Celeste's response.
"I will put you over my knee."
"Wow... such talk and against your mother no less.... " one could tell that Celeste was deeply amused however.
"I'm glad things haven't changed." Hobbs said out loud.
Celeste turned her head. "Bri." as she stood up and came over to her. "What the hell happened?" she inquired. "and why do you look like someone rammed their fist into you repeatedly.... Does someone need to face my wrath?"
Pava came over, she gently took Hobbs's hand. "Why don't you come sit down over here Brianna." the Andorian led her to the sofa before going to get drinks for everyone as Pasha tossed Celeste her medkit. "Mom, catch."
Celeste turned as she snatched the medkit out of the air. "Thanks. Now.... let me poke you and prod you.." Celeste then grinned at Brianna.
"That ass munch Devon stomped my face into the ground before he arrested me." Brianna told Celeste. "He is under arrest now and sitting in the brig along with Nye and Snee."
Celeste did a quick check as she nodded. "Yeah... and you never got treated... did you?" she inquired as she gave her a physical. "Yeah, you're missing a tooth and have some inflammation of the gums.." she picked up a PADD. "Want me to book you in to get that looked at?" she inquired. "With a new tooth?"
"Between the slaughter on the planet and the mutiny I never really got a chance to get myself checked over." Hobbs told her. "Besides, we were swimming in casualties. My wounds are superficial."
"I never got the chance to read the report... I will do when I go on duty." Celeste responded. "I'll get you booked in if you desire."
"I'm surprised Nye's mutiny isn't all over Star Fleet." Bri replied. "But yes, I would like it looked at."
"Thats because news of it hasn't broken out yet.." Pava responded with a smile. "When it does... I bet it'll be epic."
"You are correct Pava." Hobbs agreed with the Andorian. "Mutinies don't happen that often and on top of it all the raid was a debacle. I'll be surprised if there isn't a tribunal or Federation Senate committee."
Celeste smiled. "That bad hmm?" as the com system beeped at them. "Dvald to Yamaguchi... Celeste... I need to see you when you get ten minutes to yourself... I'll be on the Tranquility.."
Celeste tapped her combadge. "I'm on my way..." she turned to Hobbs. "You gonna be alright here?"
The two Andorian's regarded Hobbs. "I think Brianna will be fine..." Pasha responded.
"Have fun at work." Brianna told Celeste. "i'm in good hands."
Celeste sighed softly. "I hate paperwork... I'm going to go and see what the little Bolian wants now." and with that Celeste went out the door after picking up her jacket and boots.
Pasha and Pava both regarded the human. "So... you hungry?" Pava inquired.
Brianna thought for a second, "Yes, actually I am hungry."
The two Andorians regarded her, in that moment they looked exactly alike. "So... come on over here. Are you craving anything in particular?" Pava asked.
Pasha raised an eyebrow. "How come your limping?" he inquired. "Let me treat that for you... you are my first real patient... ever." he smiled as Pava sighed. "Oh Bollocks."
"I'm very hungry, I'm not sure what I want." Bri told the twins. She politely ignored Pasha's question.
Pava raised an eyebrow as she turned to Pasha. "Let mom do that. you assist her with it."
Pasha sighed but said nothing as Pava regarded Hobbs. "Do you want some ribs? or some pizza?" she inquired. "We've been snaking on ribs all night.. its why this place stinks of it." she smiled. "Nothing like smoked ribs to make one's night complete."
"Ribs sound good just add some cornbread. Maybe with some apple cobbler for desert?" Bri responded.
Pava went about seeing to Hobb's dinner order as she replicated a plate of ribs with a side of cornbread and a bowl of apple cobbler. "Here you go." and she brought them to the table.
Pasha sat down at the table. "So... Pava... chess?"
"You are eager...but no. I want to finish kicking mom's ass.."
"She's actually hammering you into the deck plating Pava.." Pasha commented. "She'll have you mated in three moves.."
Pava stuck her tongue out at him in response.
"Thank you for the food." Bri responded. "I would play chess with you Pasha but I'm a little burnt out right now."
Pava smiled. "Well we are here... if you need us..."
Pasha indicated the bedroom. "If you wanted to crash, we can look after things for you..."
"Really?" Brianna asked, a little amused. "What things need to be looked after?"
Pava shared a look with her twin. "You look like you've been... in hell." Pava stated as Pasha replicated himself a glass of water. "You thirsty?"
Brianna laughed at Pava's remark. "Hell would be a good way to describe it. And yes, I could use some more water."
Pasha replicated a second glass of water, before he brought it to her. "I wonder why mom was called like that.." the way he phrased it indicated he was curious and not asking Brianna.
"Could be just about anything." Brianna replied. "Even on quiet days department heads have unexpected work. Right now the Task Force has more than its share of wounded."
"Well... We are at Starbase Twelve and Uzaveh only knows why our people are getting called... aren't they all on leave?" Pava inquired
"Yes,, they are."
Bri looked at the twins carefully. "Are you implying you two know something?"
"Other then all medical personnel have been recalled." Pasha said. "The recall went out this morning... Mom isn't too happy about it."
"We do have a lot of wounded." Brianna replied.
"Mom said as much... I went with her." Pasha responded. "I've been interested in medicine since mom adopted me." he added by way of explanation. "I got to help..."
Pava knew her sibling and it had been a big moment for him.
"Oh, I think you would make a wonderful doctor Pasha." Brianna told him. "Is there any specialty you would be interested in?"
Pasha warmed up instantly. "I'm not sure honestly... for now I think I'm going to stick with being a generalist.. same as mom with a side in pediatrics... maybe go into obstetrics.." he explained.
"Do you like working with children?" Bri asked.
Pasha nodded. "They like me because I can calm them, they find me weird and different." he explained. "Besides.. I was there this afternoon... one woman was having a bad day with two upset infants... Mom was trying to calm her when this woman who.... she must have been hysterical shoved one of them into my arms... so I gently held one of them and he calmed almost instantly... so mom handed me the other and asked me to sit with them.."
Pava smiled, it was not often she got to see this side of her twin as he explained. "the woman... i never found out who she was took awhile to calm down... turns out her husband was being an ass to her... Its seldom I see mom get angry but... Jeezz.." he winced as he tried not to laugh. "Mom was Pissed.."
Pava smiled "So... thats why she spent two hours working in the forge banging on metal."
"Thats why... I was with her... she did manage to finish those ..... presents for you Bri." Pasha explained. "She swore me to silence but I suspect she'll tell you her side of this story later."
"You wouldn't work well as an intelligence officer, Pasha." Brianna smiled. "I'm glad to see you have a calling."
"Thats not whats pissing me off Bri..." he paused. "May we share something personal with you?" he clearly was intimidated by Brianna.
Pava knew what was coming. "I'll give you a moment alone." before she withdrew.
Pasha indicated his twin. "She knows what I'm about to tell you.." he paused. "The Andorian government want us back... to fill spots in two seperate bondgroups... while its nice that our issues have been cured.. they still need all andorians of breeding age.."
Brianna sighed. "You mother mentioned that. I know she is trying to keep you two from going. To be honest, you shouldn't be forced into this."
Pasha nodded his head. "I know... but the Andorian government made their position very clear... even through the cure is improving things for us and our numbers are starting to increase... They need every last Andorian to come home... those of reproductive age.. They are busy playing a numbers game and we're still losing." he indicated the closed door where his twin had disappeared behind moments earlier.
"I'm sure there is something in Federation about free will and being forced into something against your will." Brianna stated.
"There is..." Pasha responded. "But its simple genetics.."
Pava came out a moment later. "Our species just came through a genetic bottleneck.. they need us..."
"This is the Federation, forced copulating is against your basic rights as a sentient creature." Bri told them. "If you want to go, then it is your choice. You have no obligation under Federation law."
The two Andorians regarded each other in silence before they both turned to Bri. "Pasha wants to go." Pava explained. "I'm still undecided."
Pasha regarded his twin. "Because you don't know these people."
"Because I feel I'm being forced into something I'm not ready for."
Pasha nodded. "We're not even sixteen Earth years old yet... and yet the bondgroup system is broken... I have my own issues with this even though I will go through with it.... discharging my species obligations does not mean however... that I like it.."
"Remember..." Brianna addressed Pasha as well as Pava. "You are still citizens of the Federation. You have basic rights which are supreme over Andorian laws. The Andorians agreed to those terms when they joined the Federation."
Pasha regarded Hobbs in silence as Pava responded. "They did yes." the Shen replied as she sipped her drink. "Its not like they can exile us... But I suspect they would make mom pay for our choice.." Pava shrugged.
"And your mom understands if she does pay, as do I." Brianna told the twins. "We would rather have the two of us suffer than to see you two do something against your will."
Pasha smiled. "We appreciate you're support Bri." he paused. "In the end however, I should go... Learn more about my homeworld and my culture at the same time... I've not been back to Andoria since the last of my clan died.... at last I can see to it my clan and kin endure.. through me."
Pava paused. "I don't have to like it and I don't.."
"We can file our grievances with the right people at the time... If the government doesn't like the fact that they unset our lives with this... then I will quite happily cram my foot up someone's posterior." Pasha responded. "and I will take great pleasure in enjoying it too..."
"Yes.." Pava responded as she regarded her sibling before turning to Brianna. "You see the insanity I must live with?" she indicated her twin who laughed maniacally.
Pasha stopped suddenly, it was like someone had yanked the table cloth out from under him. "We are being asked to home home Pava, to do our duty as Andorian's to help propagate our species.." he explained in a rather wooden tone, almost as if he was reading from a script.
Pava nodded. "I dunno these poeple... I don't hop into bed with people I don't know.."
"I know.." Pasha responded. "I'm in the same boat you know.."
"It will be your choice." Brianna told them. "The two of you are not personally responsible for the future of your race. Remember that."
Pasha nodded. "We know..." he responded quietly. "We weren't expecting them to call us and ask us to get involved..." he paused. "We don't know anyone from either bondgroup."
Pava regarded Brianna. "They came out with it from out of the ice fields and we;'re still processing it...and its a rush.." the term 'the ice fields' was roughly similar to the human term 'out of left field.' as the Andorian girl sighed. "I wanted to join the Marines.... but now that got put off... for a couple of years while I sit on Andoria and have babies..."
"Speak for yourself Pava." Pasha responded. "My studies just got put on hold... permanently too."
"You don't have to go." Hobbs told the girl softly. "Even though they are your species, they are alien to you. Doesn't sound like they are very friendly either."
Pava nodded. "We should consider it most carefully before we dismiss it." she paused. "I don't want to deal with other people's ignorance but I won't turn my back on my people either."
"Are they you're people?" Brianna asked. "I'm not saying they aren't but think about the connection you do and do not have with them. You as much told me they are strangers."
Both Pava and Pasha shared a look in silence. "Yes.. But we're still Andorian's with all the good... and the bad that entails." Pasha explained.
"Yes you have the DNA of Andorians but do you share their culture?" Brianna asked. "Except for the bondgroups you do belong to any of their other groups. Your foreigners on Andoria."
Pasha's response was simple. "Unfortunately... yes... Mom did her best to raise us properly.." he regarded the human woman before him. "The Andorian government held her to rather... specific demands.."
Pava growled softly as she muttered something foreign. Pasha merely smiled.
"Besides using you two as brood mares, what other reason does the Andorian government want you back?" Brianna asked.
"No other reason really." Pasha responded. "The good thing about making babies is that neither I or Pava carry the baby or have anything to do with raising it... they just want our genetic material."
Pava nodded. "and rather specific body parts."
Pasha lifted his drink to his lips and took a sip as Pava said her piece. "You see our issue?"
"Yes I do." Brianna replied.
"To go back to Andor and help two seperate bond groups have children or no.." Pava responded. "Its sounds so easy on the face of it.... but it isn't so simple.."
"No." Pasha responded before he breathed out and then back in. "I will go and do my thing... but I don't owe our people... anything.."
Pava regarded her twin in silence, it was clear this statement was something of a surprise before she nodded in silence.
"You already told me you would be giving up quiet a bit." Brianna told them. "Do you know how long you will be gone?"
"No.... But it will be months... at least." Pasha said quietly. "It won;t be the same... not having mom around.." he indicated the door. "She keeps home cold just for us, she also has trained herself to think and act like an Andorian... for us..."
Brianna always thought Celeste kept her quarters extra cool because of her sexual activities. Cooling the quarters off for the Andorians made more sense.
"And the government wants both of you right away?" Brianna asked.
"More or less. yes." Pasha responded.
"Whatever your decision, I'm sure your mother will support you, as will I." Brianna told them.
Pasha smiled. "That means a lot to us Bri.."
Pava smiled. "When we come back... I want to enlist..." she admitted. "As a combat Engineer..."
Brianna beamed at Pava. "I don't know how you mother would feel about you digging up land mines or blowing down doors. I think you would make a good marine though."
Celeste's voice came from the front door. "I would support you if thats what you wanted to do..." as she slipped off her boots.
"I umm.." Pava stopped.
"The choice is yours and yours alone Pava... not mine... but know that I will always support you... you two are not my blood but you are my children.."
Brianna smiled at Celeste. "So, I take it Pava has never told you her plans?"
"No." Celeste responded. "But then... I wanted to let these two make their own plans.."
Brianna nodded. "Knowing what I do about you Celeste I wouldn't have figured it any other way. I'm just surprised Pava never talked about her plans to you. Pasha certainly did."
"Pasha did yes." Celeste responded. "He's been asking me for classes in sickbay which doesn't bother me in the least." Celeste came over. "Siaxx wanted to have her way with me... you know how that hot little Bolian is."
Both Andorians smiled as Pava chuckled softly. "Well I thought you had a bad opinion of marines mom."
"I do... I make exceptions for a few." Celeste explained.
"Okay, I'll drop your personal problems with marines for now." Brianna stated. "I'm more curious about Siaxx. Isn't she married to our little resident terrorist?" She asked Celeste.
Celeste blinked as she frowned. "Terrorist?" the taller human woman was confused. "Oh you mean the Fleet CAG. No... she's not a terroist.. she's just pissed with the Federation... and she has good cause too.." she regarded Brianna Hobbs. "Phoenix is little better then an indentured servant... Jake showed me the paperwork she was forced to sign to get out of the brig." she paused. "says she can't resign or retire unless she dies.."
"Colonel Sullivan belonged to an organization that killed Star Fleet personnel." Brianna answered back. "All Maquis should have went to the gallows. As far as I am concerned she got off easy."
"How did she get off easy?" Celeste inquired as she regarded Hobbs. The two Andorians backing away to give them space. "Millions of these people were shafted by the Federation when they said the treaty was a bad idea... then they got shafted again... then they got exterminated. millions dead, entire planets glassed by the Dominion and the Cardassians..." Celeste slowly blinked her eyes. "Put yourself in her shoes... would you do anything different... would I?" Celeste shrugged her shoulders.
"I would have done worse actually. Had I suffered her losses... most of my family slain... the women abused and then murdered... No... I would have done far worse.."
Brianna gave Celeste a stern look. "My home planet descended into chaos. Both my parents were killed. The Federation did nothing to help. I ended up whoring myself out to survive before I enlisted. I didn't join a terrorist group or start killing innocent people. Sullivan did."
Celeste sighed softly. "The Federation tends to ignore its own... while they like to climb in bed with their enemies.."
"True." Brianna replied. "But back to the original question, what did Siaxx want with you?"
"Siaxx wanted to go over the wounded with me... She's going to using Dreamcrusher's medical recovery ward for some of her wounded." Celeste responded. "Also... Siaxx was threatened by Nye.."
Brianna smiled. "I did better than her, I was arrested by Nye and his toadies beat me."
Celeste nodded. "Nye..." she hissed the name. "I want a seat at his court marshal and I want to laugh at him as they sentence him..."
"That trial will be a spectacle." Hobbs stated. "I wonder how many of his boot lickers will turn on him for a reduced sentence?"
Pava chuckled. "Oh ... probably all of them before JAG pins him over a table and taking turns fucking him."
Celeste turned her head to regard the Andorian Shen. "Now Pava... I had no idea you liked it abusive like that."
"Yes well... my last boyfriend was a little abusive.." she paused. "Ummm... ahh shit."
Celeste smiled in amusement but said only. "Well... what can I say."
Pasha responded. "Nothing... there is nothing to say on the subject.." as he regarded his twin. "So... who was your victim?"
"Steven McNair. He tried it once... I broke him for his trouble..."
Celeste sighed softly. "Guys.." she responded. "So long as he doesn't come bleeding from his pecker to sickbay.. Then I don't need to know."
Pasha smiled. "Good." she responded. "Like I said... he only tried it once."
Pasha sighed softly. "Yeah they call me the ragecase." he indicated his twin. "According to our teachers... She's the cupcake... and I'm the ragecase."
"I'm glad you dealt with your abusive partner." Brianna told Pava. "Your mother would have done much, much worse to the dumb ass."
Celeste slowly smiled. "Oh you have no idea.." as she gently brushed her lips past Hobbs's ear. "I'd have castrated him.... with a spoon."
Pasha smiled. "Heh.."
Pava chuckled softly, her demure chortling was instantly drowned out by the booming peels of Pasha's laughter.
"Please don't laugh that way when you become a doctor and work in sickbay. Some one will think you're a new Doctor Frankenstein." Brianna advised.
Celeste smiled. "I think thats his plan..." she responded. "Anyway,... come on you guys... lets finish our game... Pasha... I know you are eager to try your hand at spanking me."
Pasha raised an eyebrow. "At chess..."
