Mission: Mission 45: Dust and Echoes
Location: Various Locations - USS Roanoke
Timeline: 1000Hrs - October 10th, 2391

Keyan Fardreamer, also known as 'Camshaft' looked out over New Holland as the Starbase orbited the planet, he smiled as he took in the sights of the planet below which for him was something that he never got used to or ever took for granted. Suddenly his eyes caught sight of a plume of smoke as it moved ever so slowly across the planet surface.

He raised an eyebrow. "What the hell is that?" he inquired aloud.

"Just wanted ta talk," Phoenix spoke with her hands held up in surrender.

"Oh. Hey Phoenix.." he paused. "I was just admiring the view." he responded.

"My home looked very much like this," Phoenix pointed out with a small smile.

"Must be one heck of a Volcano to cause that.."

"Might be some inactive ones you can go see down there, if ya like," Phoenix offered. "I could go down with ya if ya like."

Camshaft regarded Phoenix. "I appreciate your offer Phoenix... but." he paused. "This is something I should do for myself... I think a career change would do me some good... considering I've seen more in the last year then I have in the previous five.."

"I don' blame ya," Phoenix spoke with sympathy. "I wanted ta quit after Operation Return - Brass indentured me to keep fightin' so I suppose in the long run, it's a good thing, else I'd not fly now. But even I know when some folks truly need ta move to a new path."

Camshaft nodded. "I was considering science when I was at the academy." he admitted quietly. "Besides.. I enjoyed flying."

"You can always fly a shuttle when you want to," Phoenix pointed out gently. "But if science is what ya want, ya got my support."

"Alright..." he paused. "I think it's time I found out what I enjoyed doing.." Camshaft sighed. "I'll have the letter for you tomorrow morning."

"Okay," Phoenix nodded. "If ya wanna fly in a fighter though, for just a jaunt, let me know an' I'll fly with ya."

"I appreciate that Phoenix," Camshaft responded. "It'll be different.." he paused a moment. "I think its time for me to settle down and look at my career long term." he turned his attention back to the large smoke plume on the planet below. "Thank you Phoenix... Its been a privilege flying with you."

"Now if you'll donate to the baby bank, I'll be happy," Phoenix spoke teasingly. "I am a monogamous lesbian, married to Siaxx now, you know."

"I will.... consider it." Camshaft responded slowly with a smile.

"Let me know when you do," Phoenix winked. "Not a lot of smart males on this ship worthy to share my eggs."

Camshaft raised an eyebrow. "Okay... I'll do that." he responded. "I'll let you know which ones.... to narrow down your search."

"Take care," Phoenix spoke and waved at him in parting.

"Thanks." before he turned and went his own way.
