The Cold Winds are Rising

Mission: Mission 43: Acts of Contrition
Location: Various Locations - USS Courageous
Timeline: 1100Hrs - October 2nd, 2391

At around eleven hundred hours, the doorbell beeped at Torilla Yamaguchi as the two dogs who dozed underneath her desk both woke up. "Come in?" Torilla called out.

The door opened and in walked Division Admiral Talon Hunt or rather Talon Yamaguchi as she was now known these days. "Torilla. Its... good to see you."

Captain Torilla Yamaguchi made a fist with her right hand as she pressed it against her left with was an upraised palm, it was meant to symbolism the unstoppable force meeting the immovable object. "Talon... Its good to see you sensai." Torilla paused a moment "I heard what happened. Jake told me." Torilla got up and came around the desk as Talon looked rather leery at the two sets of eyes peering at her from under the desk. "Are.. they safe?"

"Grey Wind and Nymeria are something I inherited as a consolation gift, from Sergeant Major Duval."

"I think he wants to bed you Torilla." Talon responded bluntly. "I might want him first."

"He is all yours... I prefer my husband mostly." Torilla responded. "Its... complicated." the larger woman explained. "Duval is all yours... But leave your kids with me... that way you can fuck him as often as you like in peace."

"Sounds good.. he's mine.." Talon responded. "I read about the last Peeves Incident. Rachael, Elizabeth and yourself all got laid due to the same causes in one go. Thats impressive. I wish I had been around for it."

Grey Wind came over to Talon, as he had caught her scent. He sniffed at her as Nymeria came over to join her brother. "They won't hurt you Talon... You're just new to them, is all."

"Ahh.." Talon responded as she sighed softly. Torilla engulfed the smaller woman in a hug. "It'll be okay..."

"Yeah.." Talon responded quietly. "I still can't believe it... Its not me... Its that he doesn't want anything to do with the kids.."

Torilla didn't need to be a telepath to know how deeply this was upsetting Talon, for to a Yamaguchi, a man who abandoned one's kids is not a man at all. "I think I got lucky with Jake.... I can only imagine what the rest of the family thinks of this... considering they are all on the starbase for a reunion... I assume?"

"No, he's not invited...I changed my name back to Yamaguchi, I did the same with the children." Talon sighed softly as her sister in law gently released her from her hug. "It's gonna be okay.." Torilla gently rubbed the other woman's shoulders. "Really. If he doesn't want anything to do with the kids then that's his loss... not yours..."

"Still... doesn't mean I need to like it."

"I never said that... but now you can go and find another man or... simply raise the kids as you see fit... Besides let the baby have his bottle as we both know he'll only scream all the louder for the trouble." Torilla had never liked Jerome Hunt and it was showing now.

"I thought we could make it work... even if we remained together for the kids."

"Yeah well.. At least it came apart now and not later... Besides.. the kids deserve better then a guy who's around only part of the time... we both knew he was never going to try... he never did try Talon... stop blaming yourself for what went wrong."

Talon frowned as she growled. "But it 'was' my fault Torilla.. I was-"

"Stop." Torilla almost demanded. "Blaming yourself.... for the misdeeds of others.... you weren't the one who started this shuttle wreak but you do have to finish dealing with it... and the longer that takes then the longer he wins... he considered you nothing more then a useless appendage, looking after what he considered to be 'your' kids... but rather then fight you on the matter, he simply cuts the lot of you loose... because he knows it'll turn the entire family against him... which it has already done..."

Talon raised an eyebrow. "How so?"

"Your brother is a walking ragecase when he gets angry. It thrills me to no end... since I get to... shall we say help him deal with it." Torilla then smiled. "Jake is not happy... I don't think anyone will be..."

"Well... I can't really say a lot." Talon admitted as she slid her slender form into a chair.

"Talon, you need time to relax, to remember, to reflect on whats happened, what you gained and lost... Come back in six months and we can discuss things then... In the meantime however... we're going for lunch.... to discuss training... I need a refresher and so do the other Yamaguchi's in the fleet..... since your here, we're going to make you moan and groan as we do evil things to you."

"Torilla... That just sounds wrong.." Talon responded.

"You... have a dirty mind." Torilla responded. "Come on guys." as the dogs followed the two women out the door and into the turbolift. "You're going for lunch... and as Captain of the good ship Courageous. It is decided, therefor it is done."

"Anyone ever tell you that you've let it go to your head?"

"Yes... My husband does all the time.." Torilla tapped the turbolift call button as she smiled, her dogs sat behind her as Talon regarded them. "They like you."

"Thats because I treat them well and I look after them, a cage is all they've ever known... I let them be themselves."

"I need to help their captor depart the mortal realm." Talon responded.

"Nah.. You can hang out with Noble Team... Besides.. It'll be fun."

"Noble team?" Talon inquired, she sounded unsure.

"Yeah. I have seven cats... two dogs and two kids... My house is full."

"Wow.. Thats impressive.." Talon responded. "With my three... it will be a very full house."

"Yep... you and your guys are welcome anytime... I hope they aren't alergic to cat fur... or to Emile... He tends to .... hate everyone."

"Is that good?" Talon inquired. "Or bad?"

"Bad... Emile apparently gets on with Saki and with Sarah.... Rachaels children... but nobody else."

"Mmm... wait didn't Rachael have one child?"

"She's going to fill out adoption paperwork for Sarah and Daniel Cullen, her fiancee's kids."

"Thats great... when is the big date?"

"No idea.. I assume Rachael is discussing it with her intended." Torilla answered. "I'm presently waiting for word from them... They might ask me to officiate. Which would be interesting.."

"Sounds like it... I hope I warrant an invitation.."

"If you're around at the time... I highly suspect that you will.." Torilla smiled.
