Mission: Mission 42: A House Divided
Location: Various Locations - USS Courageous
Timeline: 0900Hrs - October 1st, 2391

Captain Torilla Yamaguchi was sitting in her ready room as she smiled down at Grey Wind. "You feeling okay?" she asked softly as she ran her fingers gently over his head. "You're safe here..."

The dog regarded her with his large brown eyes as he gently licked at her fingers. Torilla smiled. "You and your sister are still settling in... It'll be alright..." as she gently petted behind his ears.

Just then the com system beeped at her. "Morales to Yamaguchi, Sir you have an incoming Alpha Priority Communication from Starfleet."

"Ahh... I was wondering when this would come in..." she sighed. "Mommy's gotta go to work now sweetie."

The dog turned and went off back underneath the deck as Torilla tapped the display before her. "Authorization Yamaguchi 48 Alpha Epsilon." she composed herself as she paused. "Enable," she stated after taking a deep breath.

The smiling face of Admiral Gregory Turner appeared before her. "Catch you at a bad time Captain?" Turner inquired of her.

"No sir... What can I do for you?" Torilla asked quietly.

Turner regarded her with concerned eyes as Torilla hoped that her concern, trepidation and fear weren't shining through. "Well... I heard back from Starfleet JAG concerning your situation... and normally they would remove you and your entire senior staff from their posts but considering that Nechayev selected you all personally tells me that she was up to something... or maybe that she wanted a command that she could control because you were all indebted to her."

"I had that same thought sir." Yamaguchi admitted. "So I pack my bags then?"

"Oh Fuck no.... considering your service record and those of your senior staff... and the fact that you already have had the Captain's rank before it was taken from you after the incident on Starbase 400," Turner explained. "Commodore Bremer is being looked into because of that event, yourself and those others who were demoted because of his antics will be looked into because the statute of limitations has already expired." he sighed softly. "That bastard might get away with it but rest assured that he will be watched from this point going forward."

"I see." Yamaguchi responded evenly. "and my situation sir?"

"Your situation is unchanged. You're going to keep your command and your senior staff unchanged... Its unusual because of recent events... Nechayev has been arrested on various charges and her court marshal is pending... Which is something I can't really discuss.." he paused. "However, you've earned your ship Torilla... Nobody will be taking her from you. You have my word on that.."

"I understand sir... Thank you... So you have anything else for me?"

"No... You'll be proving whether or not the concept of a Cruiser-Carrier works. If it does then we'll build more ships like the Courageous.. But you won't have the strength or the combat capabilities of the new Andromeda class Galaxy variants... as the Courageous is simply too old to refit with all that new tech... they simply did the best they could with what we had to work with at the time." Turner explained. "At least its not like what happened to the Fe'garren... they're going to scrap her for parts and then melt the rest down... she's too old to refit properly."

"Thats a dammed shame sir... May I ask whats going to happen to Admiral Hunt and her crew?"

"Well... Talon protested the scrapping of her ship." as Turner tried not to laugh. "That woman has a hell of a mouth on her... I see why she and Admiral Hunt don't get along... but she's being assigned as Commander of the USS Fall of Berlin... she'll shake her down before taking command of a new battlegroup for a colony relief assignment."

I understand sir... I have two combat wings aboard with space for extras if needed." she responded. "My guys and I are ready for anything."

"Thats great to hear... Your still assigned to Commodore Zara Tane's Tactical Wing so you'll assist her with matters. You'll be supporting her as her second carrier..." he paused. "Any questions?"

"No sir." she paused. "I will ask one thing..."

"Whats that?" Turner inquired as he leaned forward, what followed was going to be good.

"Save me a seat at her court-martial." Yamaguchi smiled

"Consider it done... Thank you for your time Captain. I'll leave you to it." and with that, he smiled at her as her terminated the transmission.

Torilla rose to her feet as she let out a soft whistle. "Come guys. Lets go for a walk." and with that she went out the door, Grey Wind and Nymeria following her in silence.
