Appointment with Eternity

Posted on Mon Mar 2nd, 2020 @ 5:34pm by Admiral Jake Yamaguchi & Fleet Captain Torilla Yamaguchi & Zuko Omakan

Mission: Mission 42: A House Divided
Location: Various Locations - USS Roanoke
Timeline: 1430Hrs - September 29th, 2391

Rear Admiral Jake Yamaguchi regarded Commodore Zara Tane with an almost amused expression on his face. "So... Zara.... Your battlegroup makeup has changed a little... Because of the issues with the Roanoke... and the reassignment of the Fairchild and the Alexander the Great, I have seen fit to assign a second Heavy Carrier to your command... her skipper should be arriving soon.."

Just then, as if timed to perfection, the doorbell went off. "That should be her now."

"OK..." Zara spoke as she looked skeptically over to Jake.

The door opened and in walked Captain Torilla Yamaguchi. "Captain Torilla Yamaguchi... reporting for work...." she deliberately left out the sir. "Sir..." she added a moment later. "Did I forget the sir? I hate it when that happens."

Zara just gave a wry grin. It was good to see her friend again.

"I was delayed..." Torilla responded. "Bitchayev grabbed me at three o'clock in the morning... and gave me the Courageous and then she sent me out on a classified assignment for her, two weeks later that got rescinded and I got retasked for another assignment, ferry some supplies to Cantrel Five..."

"You've been busy," Zara noted sympathetically.

Torilla sighed softly as she decided to take a seat. "Yes... Various people wanted my body and my ship.." she gave her husband a look. "Seriously...Why are so many Admirals little more then dirty and perverted old men.?"

Jake simply smiled at the statement. "Sorry... I tend to prefer the company of one woman these days.." he responded. "My fellow Admirals need to get out more often."

Torilla regarded Zara. "Yes... well... you are not rid of me just yet."

Jake went over to the replicator as he ordered several drinks, he brought them back to the two women. "Where's Zuko?"

Zuko meanwhile was sitting on the command center of the Akurian Battlecruiser Ryazar's shield, along with Teval, Hakaya, Weyai and Arumi.

Arumi asked the two of them, "so how are your ships coming along."

"Dreamcrusher is still well within its Refit, it will be a month before she is ready," Zuko replied.

Teval sighed, "And Roanoke is still waiting for her new fighter pod, its still a week out before it arrives."

Torilla shifted her position in her chair ever so slightly. "So... whats our goal this time?" she inquired.

Tane made sure the channel was open to all parties before she continued her briefing.

"Ambassador Blon will be coming to brief us on our next mission. Apparently we're needed on a semi-diplomatic mission," Zara told Torilla. "All I know is that we could be walking into hostile territory."

"Well... we shall see..." Torilla responded. "As far as I know I'm simply following you into battle... like I was before.."

"I made it clear to the ambassador while I was on shore leave, that we were a emergency response task group. Strictly for colony aid," Zara told the group. "But I don't know if it's better to pick a mission up from political buffoons, or power-hungry fleet brass. Either way, this mission has a diplomatic override, giving us the express lane on all materials and personnel in the fleet to bring the task group to operational status ASAP."

Yamaguchi raised an eyebrow as she shared a look with the Admiral before she turned back to Tane. "Okay... so I should behave then.." she responded. "Mmm... top priority on everything. Who do I see for my supply needs?"

"Me. I tell my mom. She bitches to HQ. They fill her order to make the Federation Council happy," Zara said with a semi-amused grin. "About the only time I've found her useful, without overstepping bounds. But I suspect she wanted Roanoke on this detail to spend time with me."

Tane did not sound to thrilled by that aspect. "Also, she will be bringing my half-brother with her. Dithen Blon is a junior cadet in the Starfleet Academy Preparatory track. So I will give him permission to tour the ship as part of a scholastic career study, but only while supervised. He fancies engineering and flight, so don't let that teenager near vital controls."

Zuko finally made his way into the office, not at all surprised by Torilla's presence along with Weyai and Teval. "I didn't know you had a little brother," Teval commented to Zara.

"No one really asks me about my family," Zara replied very simply.

Torilla raised an eyebrow. "Okay....This will be interesting.." she mused aloud before she handed Zara a PADD. "My request for supplies." she explained.

"I'll send it to Mom," Zara assured. "Anything else on the agenda I should know about? Stupid officers needing chaptering?. Crazies needing Section Eight."

Torilla paused. "Nobody on my crew is pissing me off." she responded quietly. "However because of the thing with Nechayev, I am uncertain as to whether or not I am keeping my command, I've not heard anything on the subject."

Just then the com system beeped. "Duval to Yamaguchi. Oh Torilla... I have a couple of gifts for you. You'll love em.... I promise."

Torilla raised an eyebrow. "Don't tease me Sergeant Major. I am in public and my husband is with me."

A sigh could be heard. "Torilla, you seriously need to get thy mind out of the gutter... bring him too... he'll love this."

"Oh?" Torilla inquired as she regarded Zara, as if seeking information on the subject.

"I promise." Duval added.

"I see..." Yamaguchi responded. "So... Zara, anything else?"

"Not that I can think of," Zara shrugged. "You guys can go if you want."

Torilla rose to her feet. "Alright... I will keep you informed as to how Courageous performs.. apparently I'm testing a new concept in the Fleet.... that of the so called Cruiser Carrier.... I don't think it'll work but hey... we;'ll find out." and with that she turned and departed.

Jake remained a moment. "That... went differently then I was expecting."
