Mission: Mission 41: The Changing of the Guard
Location: Various Locations - Starbase 12
Timeline: 0930Hrs - 12th August, 2391

April Yamaguchi walked down the hallway as her mind considered what was said at the meeting between herself, Jake and Nechayev. She was not expecting Nechayev to simply come clean as she did regarding Torilla Yamaguchi but then she knew the Courageous was being deployed on a classified mission to the Cardassian Boarder area, what she didn't know was that Torilla would be commanding her.

"She has Zara Tane." April thought aloud. "Question becomes.... where?" she asked herself as she rounded the corner, before coming to a stop at a set of doors, she tapped the release button before she entered the quarters she considered home.

"Franklin?" April called.

Franklin poked his head around the corner. "Hey.. whats up with you?"

"Nechayev has Zara Tane... I have no proof.. but I know she's got her."

Franklin regarded his wife. "You're concerned about it." he paused. "Come on in here."

April went into the kitchen as Franklin was making deserts as April raised an eyebrow. "Spoiling the kids again?"

"Sure.. why not?"

April sighed softly. "Your chocolate sponge cake is always good." as she smiled up at him. "The last time you made sponge cake, the night ended well for the both of us.."

"Yes... you were quite the athlete..." Franklin chuckled softly.

"Well... I was in the mood.. and so were you." April grinned. "So... what'cha making?"

"Sponge cake and a few other things.." Franklin responded. "The kids will be happy and hopefully Raymond will more chances to bond with his new siblings."

"He didn't get a lot of sleep last night... I'm worried about him." April admitted.

"I know.. He misses his dad." Franklin sighed softly. "Quick-Shot deserved better.."

"Yes, he did." April answered. "He was a good man.."

"A good man who finally sorted out his life only to die quick at the hands of an errant missile which found his ship."

"Yeah.." she paused. "Nechayev blames Zara Tane for that fiasco and she's got her... she didn't come clean to Jake about it but... He is fucking... Pissed." April explained. "I've never seen Jake so angry.."

Franklin nodded as he thought about his brother in law. "Considering Torilla has up and vanished." as he gently gave his wife a gentle hug. "I know how you get when you're angry.." he added softly, while he gave her a gentle smile.

"Nechayev gave Torilla the Courageous and she's on a mission for Nechayev, she's been ordered to go dark so nobody can talk to her."

"Lovely... I bet that's made Jake happy."

"No. it made him angrier." April sighed wistfully. "Jake doesn't like people screwing with his family... and neither do I.." as she regarded her husband. "Would you mind talking to a couple of your buddies... see if they can quietly get Torilla's orders rescinded."

"Consider the matter handled, wife of mine," Armstrong answered. "It'll take a while but consider the matter addressed."

"Just like that?" April inquired in amusement.

"Just like that. yes." Franklin regarded his wife in quiet amusement. "Its best I don't tell you... that way if things go bad, you can't say names.."

"I hate it when you play hard to get.."

"That's because we both know you're not subtle... and your not shy either... and this requires more subtlety then either you or Jake have... so leave it to me... Besides. I look forward to bedding you m'lady."

April raised an eyebrow. "I look forward to the bedding, my liege-lord."
