Making Hakaya Feel Better

Mission: Mission 36: The Crusade Against the Infidels
Location: Various Locations - USS Roanoke
Timeline: 1400Hrs - July 8th, 2391

Takov looked at Speed Demon, one of Silversnows kittens, and speed demon stared back. Takov, with little warning, then made his move, attempting to pounce on speed demon, but the 6 month old kitten, lived up to his name and like lightning, ran out of reach, then stopping some 10 feet away from Takov. Takov gave a little growl, and attempted again, only for speed demon to once again, move out of reach. He didn't get a third try before Teval scooped Takov up, walked over to Hakaya and set the surprised young Kurokuri in Hakaya's lap. Nuyari meanwhile, picked up speed demon and sat down next to Hakaya, whom cuddeold with Takov.

Looking up at Teval, Hakaya commented," You know, our species really does make very cute kids."

Teval shrugged, From a humans perspective all of us Kurokuri are adorable. Hakaya looked over at the cat bed, where silversnow and three of her kittens, Frost thorn, fox paws and fuzz ball where curled up sleeping. Firehawk sat on the table while Comet and Avalanche where below it. Hakaya commented," It is awful crowded in this room, didn't you say Elizabeth Yamaguchi was going to pick up some of these guys."

Teval nodded, "Yeah that and Karryn and Aerin offered to have a couple of them move in when they are ready.

Kiyuo walked in and picked up Firehawk off the table, saying "I like him the best."

Hakaya reached over, pulled Kiyuo closer, and wrapping her tail around Kiyuo, she gave her a nuzzle," Yes we know."

Kiyuo gently put one arm around Hakaya's tail. "Mom, your tail is so cuddly." Hakaya just gave off a small purr.

Just then the door beeped at the people gathered within, outside the door stood Flight Officer Kameron Yamaguchi and his wife, Elizabeth Yamaguchi. "You think these guys are gonna go for this?"

"I hope so... They already said yeah."

Teval went and opened the door, saying "Hi guy's I guess your here to pick up the cats."

Elizabeth nodded. "We are... which ones are you guys..." she paused as she regarded Hakaya and the pile of cats. "Oh... wow.." she paused. "Now that... makes my trip is worth while."

Kameron smiled in amusement. "Hey Teval.."

Teval looked over his shoulder at his sibling and three of the kids, saying. "Oh, yeah, my sister is a cuddle bunny."

He then looked at Elizabeth saying, "Well Firehawk, Fox paws and Fuzz Ball are too young, and speed Demon is Takov's favorite, I don't think he would want to part with that one."

Elizabeth raised an eyebrow. "I don't want to deprive these guys of their preferred cats..."

Teval went and picked up Comet and Avalanche, saying, "Well, They said that they will be willing to part with these two and Frosthorn, on the condition that they get a very very good home."

Elizabeth smiled. "That is a given." she responded with a smile as she gently received Avalanche, the fem ale cat regarded Elizabeth as she mewled at her.

Elizabeth gently petted the kitty in her arms, before she received Comet while Kameron gently received Froststorm. "We will give them a good home.... you may be assured of that." Kameron responded with a smile as the cat in his arms proceeded to urinate on his jacket. "Wait... she peed on me..." he sounded surprised.

Teval smiled, saying, "Don't worry Kameron, she is just saying that she loves you."

Kameron raised an eyebrow. "Well I never liked this jacket anyway... You feel like keeping it kitty?"

Froststorm meowed at him. "Alright... when we get home... this will become part of your bed..." before he gently kissed the kitty's nose.

Elizabeth gently cooed at her two cats. "Lets get these two home... and she loves you." as she handed the second cat in her arms off to Kameron as she braced on her cane. "You guys want a moment to say goodbye before we go?"

Nuyari and Takov both walked ovr and gently petted the cats, and said their goodbyes, while Teval mentioned, "Its O.K. you can see them at any time, Elizabeth's quarters aren't far away."

Elziabeth and Kameron nodded as they took their leave, cats in hand.

Teval simply walked over to Hakaya and sat down, while silversnow got up and moved into the other room. Teval wrapped one arm around Hakaya and pulled her closer, while she just purred in repose. The two just sat in silence while Nuyari, Takov and Kiyuo played with the kittens.

A minute later Teval noticed Silversnow coming back into the room with a fuzzy round object in her mouth. Leaving his sibling on the couch Teval went over to investigate. Nuyari, Takov and Kiyuo noticed, and Nuyari asked as silversnow dropped the object," Whats that."

Teval gently prodded it, and it moved and made an odd cooing sound. He picked it up, saying," I believe this is a tribble, how did it get in here."

The tribble just made another cooing sound at him, while Nuyari and Takov came closer to investigate. Teval looked down at Silversnow saying," Where did you get this." Silversnow just meowed at him.

Meanwhile Rykar was busy sorting out supplies with several other operations personell, when she came across a box with what looked like breathing holes in it. Picking it up she noticed that something had chewed through the side. And aside what looked like some animal droppings and grass of some type, the box was empty. Rykar rolled her eyes and shouted, "GRRREEEEEEKKKK, GET IN HERE NOW."

Grek came running into the storage room, saying, "yes commander, what is it."

Rykar turned around slowly holding the box, and Grek tried to explain,
"Ah that, dont worry they're harmless, I Promise."

Rykar turned the box around showing the chewed out corner," Alright, out with it, what was in here."

Grek shrugged and came over, wanting to take the box," Um well, nothing harmful i assure you."

Rykar gave him the death glare, "What was in here."

Grek shrugged nervously, "Um, just,... Uh,... just a few tribbles, nothing harmful."

Rykar sighed, "Just a few tribbles, huh, and who where these for."

Grek tried to explain, "um, well one of the parents wanted me to get a pet for their kids birthday, Well I figured they would be easy to take care of and kids would love them so,.. yeah."

Rykar rolled her eyes," And it didn't occur to you to use a better box did it, you know, just what might happen if they got loose right."

Grek shrugged," Well they couldn't have gotten out of the room, could they."

Rykar pointed to a ventilation shaft that was missing its cover, and Grek simply let out," Oh Shit."
