Mission:
Mission 98: Building Our New Home
Location: Various Locations - Starbase Vanguard
Timeline: 1145Hrs - June 25th, 2393
The taller then average human-looking female moved down the hallway, she had an angry look in her eye and she was also pregnant to boot, this contributed to many people getting out of her way in a major hurry, the fact that she was a department head on the starbase was actually a nice bonus for as Plataea Lasky was concerned, the universe was not working as it should and she was not in a good mood over the subject that had come up with her husband a short time earlier.
Several minutes went by before the tall female reached her destination. Her aide nodded to her. "Your new paperwork is on your desk sir, I've held two calls for you."
"Thanks, John," Lasky answered quietly. "I have some research to do, keep holding my calls okay?" Lasky inquired of him she wanted and needed the second half of today off and so she had arranged the duty roster for her department to cover for things.
"Willdo sir." the young man knew his boss quite well, he could read her moods and he had been able to deal with her issues, unlike his predecessor who had reacted poorly when confronted with a heavily pregnant Halanan who was having a bad day, that's when Lasky had stuck in for reassignment for him citing workplace issues and not him being closed-minded. John Sanderson smiled as he tapped the display before him. He was an old hand at this sort of work and while he knew that sooner or later, he would get his assignment of Chief Petty Officer and he might consider moving on, this assignment really wasn't bad, just look after Captain Lasky and her issues, needs and wants.
Meanwhile, now safely ensconced inside her office, Lasky sat down in her chair which she had tailor-made to some rather specific requirements. It had to be comfortable and sit upright, rather than let her slouch, it also had to handle her pregnancies as the tall female wanted children and she was not prepared to wait for it. Lasky knew her husband well and she knew he wanted children also, so the two decided to get on with it and see what they welcomed. For now, the two were talking about having three or four but both of them were content to leave the final number alone for now as there was no need to go on about it.
Lasky tapped the display and began to go to work on the issue before her. A few minutes later she tapped her combadge. "Lasky to Sanderson, could you come in here a moment?"
"Right away ma'am." and with that, the tall human male came into her office. "Yes, ma'am?"
Lasky raised an eyebrow as she regarded him. "Take a seat John." he did as she asked as she knew he would remain motionless and standing and never move until she gave him leave to do otherwise. "Refresh my memory would you, what was your computer science skills?"
"I have an Alpha five level ma'am," Sanderson answered as he regarded her.
"I need a favor from you," Lasky answered quietly as she handed him a PADD. "Would you mind finding out who filed this reprimand on Rachael Yamaguchi-Cullen's service record, my husband's name is on it but he denies it. I was present for the events in question and I believe him, but... I have to know for sure before I go to Admiral Duval."
Sanderson regarded the older female before him while she explained. "I have the feeling that someone is illegally using my husband's clearance, I do NOT need this getting out into the public eye as it'll cause more issues then I know what to deal with." she paused. "If someone is using his clearance and codes illegally, then we should find out quickly." she paused. "Maybe I'm just being paranoid John..."
"No Captain," Sanderson answered with a nod of his head. "It's never wise to screw with a Division Admiral's clearance or his good name." Sanderson nodded his head. "I'll take care of this. He paused. "Can I go handle this from my own setup rather than do it here?. I have a computer workstation set up in my quarters that I.." he paused a moment. "sometimes use for hacking the system when I want information."
Lasky nodded as a rather malicious smile appeared on her face. "Go for it, please let me know what you find.." as she tapped her combadge. "Lasky to James Turner.?"
"Go ahead ma'am.?" came the instant response as Turner was the second of the three aides and yeoman who had been assigned to her. Lasky had taken great care to look after all three and make sure they knew she liked them and appreciated their efforts on her behalf. "John just went to the Medcenter, he ate something that didn't agree with him, Is there any chances you could come in early?"
His response made her smile. "I'm on my way skipper. I'll seeya in five. Turner out." and with that, the comline went silent as Lasky nodded to Sanderson, he picked up the PADD before he marched out the door, his body language indicated that he was on a mission and nothing short of success or death would see it completed. He departed in silence as Lasky went back to her paperwork but she was already beginning to draft her report on the events in question and the security leak, which she didn't even know existed. Lasky knew that Captain Hannah Mueller was going to be most displeased about this. Especially if Admiral Lasky's clearance had indeed been compromised.
