Posted on Wed Mar 18th, 2020 @ 3:19pm by Division Admiral Thomas Lasky & Post Captain Plataea "Phantom" Lasky & First Sergeant Grade Two Kelly "Rabbit" Shaddock

Mission: Mission 98: Building Our New Home
Location: Various Locations - Starbase Vanguard
Timeline: 1130Hrs - June 25th, 2393

Master Sergeant Kelly Shaddock who wore the callsign of 'Rabbit' was not in a good mood, she had lifted a PADD with the information she was seeking before she went to track down her quarry, her long legs ate the distance quickly as she marched across the station, walking a considerable distance before she reached her destination. She tapped the door chime and waited to be permitted entry.

Division Admiral Tom Lasky was seated in his office, going over the last of his paperwork for today, he wanted to spend some time with his children as he considered his good fortune in netting Plataea Lasky, Torilla's twin sibling who was actually Torilla Yamaguchi from another reality, except she was more restrained than the Torilla he knew, he had feelings for his best friends wife and while it was something he could never act on, he knew that Torilla knew about his feelings for him. Kurt, his eldest child was born from Torilla who couldn't carry the child to term so she had given the few dozen cells to her eldest child, Elizabeth who had carried the child to term in her mother's place.

Needless to say, that all of this had made his relations with the Yamaguchi's all quite complicated and everyone involved knew it too. Gabriel Yamaguchi had watched the situation brewing from a distance and while he had not gotten involved, the young man and Lasky did share a few words and this was after a situation had gone terrifyingly wrong while Lasky was dating Zara Tane. In which he had lost his self-control, first he had accused Elizabeth of assault without proof but then he had only let things escalate from there rather than exercise his rather considerable self-control.

Lasky had gotten into the counselor's face and by the time he had gotten to Torilla, he couldn't even think straight, so blinded was he by his own rage that he very nearly killed one of the women he loved. Lasky had bashed his elbow into her face before he grabbed her from behind. It had taken others who were more clear-headed to intervene and Torilla was also assaulted by Zara Tane at the same time with a knife.

It had taken Jake Yamaguchi, armed with a phaser, to break up what could have been a very ugly situation and the entire mess had destroyed over a half dozen relationships Lasky had built, it had taken him a long time to clean up the mess he had made, he still couldn't let go of his own self-disgust over what he had done. Nor his own self-hatred.

"Your doing it again." came a female voice from across his office, for seated on his sofa was his spouse. Captain Plataea Lasky as she regarded her husband with a gentle smile, she knew intimately well his demons and his battle for his own soul, she had resolved to help him win this battle at whatever the cost to her. "Tom, don't say that to yourself. You made a mistake. It does happen. But they forgave you."

"But. I can't forgive myself... I very nearly killed Torilla because I lose my self-control. Plataea." He responded in a quiet tone, laden with emotion as he shifted his attention from the PADD in front of him to his spouse, in reality, she had dropped by for lunch but she wished to hang out with him. "Torilla doesn't hold a grudge." Lasky regarded her.

"Does Jake?" Lasky regarded her.

"If he did, why would he have permitted you to serve in the same assignment as his spouse for so long.?" the female Lasky smiled as she knew her logic was impeccable. Lasky nodded. "You're right."

"I do my best, now you'd best hurry up and finish. The kids don't wait forever you know." Lasky regarded her husband with a warm smile. "Then when they go for their nap, I need help with these hormones, you know how it is.." she added, with a smile.

Lasky knew exactly how it was. "I know. I'm almost-" was as far as he got when the doorbell beeped at them both.

"Its open," Lasky called out, the door opened and in walked an Asian looking human female wearing starfighter command colors. "Admiral. I need to speak with you, it can't wait." as she produced her PADD and offered it to Lasky.

"Mmm. Okay, take a seat Master Sergeant and let me have a look at this," he answered while he took the PADD from her.
He began to read. "Rachael. I had a bad feeling your name would cross my desk again," he commented with a quiet sigh.

Plataea Lasky's interest was suddenly piqued when she felt the surge of emotion from her husband. "That reprimand was most certainly not filed by me." He commented "I do not know how that got there but I most certainly did not file that." he regarded the sergeant major who had an annoyed look on her face before it changed to one of confusion. "But, Admiral. It says you signed it."

Lasky raised an eyebrow. "The worst that happened between me and Rachael over the situation at Goranar was me yelling at her about it. I didn't file any reprimands about it." he narrowed his eyes as he called up the computer record of the reprimand in question. "Mmmm.." Lasky's frown only deepened. "Rachael was reprimanded by me for insubordination." as he shifted his attention back to the taller female. "This would have been thrown out as I was the one who screwed up and not her. I nearly got myself killed that day... I stuck in a commendation for bravery and I cited her for a medal. Not a reprimand."

"I will look into the matter myself." the female Lasky who was five months along suddenly stood up. "Then I'll ask Fleet Admiral Duval to remove it. I'm sure she won't mind terribly." as she gave her husband a grin.

"Thanks, Plataea. Also, find out who filed this using my name." Lasky requested. "I'll look after the kids while you're cleaning up after me and whoever did this." he sighed as both of their afternoons had been ruined.

"Willdo." and with that, she walked out the door without waiting to be dismissed.

"She just left." The Master Sergeant whispered.

"Yep. My spouse comes and goes as she pleases, I do not need to treat her like the average as she is most certainly not the average Starfleet officer." Lasky answered quietly. "as for Rachael. I recommended her for a commission, not a reprimand. I was denied but not told why... Now I know why." he then growled. "When I find out who shafted her... I'm gonna let Starfleet security handle this hot mess."

"Sounds good sir," Shaddock answered quietly. "When you find out, let me know please?"

"I'll do that Master Sergeant. Thanks for bringing this matter to me." Lasky answered. "Thanks for your time on the matter and for the chat."

The Asian-looking human female rose to her feet before she nodded, and departed in silence.
