Mission: Mission 28: Those who Remain
Location: Various Locations - USS Roanoke
Timeline: 1900Hrs - February 28th, 2391

Commander Torilla Yamaguchi was drenched in sweat as she found herself almost sprinting while she was moving on a treadmill. "One... two... three.. four.." Torilla panted.

She found that by going back to the gym, she had felt better then she had in months, asides from the near constant sex with her husband recently.

The door opened and in walked Zara as a smile graced Torilla's lips, she reached out and smacked the 'STOP' Button as she slowed then she hopped off of the treadmill.

She was wearing a pair of shorts and a tank top which honestly hid nothing on her body judging by the sly looks she was getting from the two marines and the starfleet officer present.

Torilla regarded Zara. "Lo Zara... fancy meeting you here?" she commented with a smile, someone not many had seen on her face recently.

Meanwhile Elizabeth Yamaguchi was nearby doing bench press with her husband serving as her spotter. "One more Beth... one more..."

Elizabeth grunted as she pushed the barbell up onto the rack, before the taller woman sat up. "That... was interesting..." she commented before noticing Zara. "Look... its the skipper."

"Yep.." Kameron commented. "You're still collecting tattoos.?"

"Err..." Zara stood there, sweat from her three laps around deck ten. "Yeah. I don't want any more tattoos, thank you."

Elizabeth smiled. "Don't worry about it... " she turned to Kameron. "You're turn."

Kameron replaced his wife as he added another ninety pounds of weight, she then got comfortable as he proceeded to bench off a set of six clearly used to this weight.

Meanwhile Torilla regarded Zara. "How was the run? Did Toshnarr serve as a speed bump like last time?" the taller woman tried not to laugh.

"Meh... Didn't get squashed this time. So not too bad," Zara answered

Torilla raised an eyebrow. "He's doing mass building and I personally think Beth needs a vacation..."

Elizabeth smiled at Zara. "I'm doing strength-toning and he's bulking up. But apparently Phoenix's school of hard-knocks rejected Rachael's application until she gets another twenty pounds of muscle."

Kameron gave his wife a look of pure malice. "At least I have my wings.... what do you have?"

"My medical practitioners license." Beth's grin only widened. "Mine trumps yours.."

Kameron glowered at his wife. "I hate you.."

Torilla sighed. "Guys..." she commented. "Please...?" she turned back to Zara. "You in here to crank some Iron?" she grinned. "This is one place that nobody ever lets go to the dogs... I wish I'd known about this place months earlier... Roanoke's Finest Iron."

"I don't really do weights much," Zara passed aside. "Don't take much for a lightweight like me to max out anyway. Track is my thing."

"Strength toning can always help you know." Torilla commented. "I like cranking iron.... it can be liberating.."

"Let's shower off and get something to eat, yes? Captain's Mess. Ice cream," Zara offered with a huge grin.

Elizabeth, Kameron and Torilla all smiled. "Sounds great." the younger couple responded at the same time. "I'd like to but... I'm on duty in an hour... and I hate being rushed with my meals... gives me indigestion."
Torilla explained. "I'll have to decline... this time.."

A half-hour later, Zara had walked them into her private dining room. Where, in their civilian clothes, they sat down at the table and were presented with menus from the kitchen staff.

"Anything you guys want. My treat," Zara offered as she looked at the desert listing.

Elizabeth smiled as she looked over the menu. "MMmm.... fish and chips, two pieces of haddock with a side of fries in gravy with extra mushy peas... " she smiled. "that... sounds heavenly.

Kameron could hear his stomach rumbling, clearly in agreement with his wife. "I'll have that too please."

"Three dark imports, and I'll have targ sirloin with potatoes," Zara ordered to the server, who promptly took the menus and walked off. "So how's life with you two?"

Kameron and Elizabeth shared a look, as married couples often did. "Well I for one have no complaints, other then not knowing where my sister is.." Elizabeth commented. "I'm worried." she added a moment later.

Kameron waited his turn patiently. "Mostly settling into married life.." he responded. "having a family that actually cares about my well being is... different, its something of a novelty." he admitted. "My father and I stopped talking because of what happened with my brother... dad blamed me for his death.."

"My mom and I don't always get along either," Zara admitted sadly. "I used to hate her for handing me off to my dad, and then having another family of her own.. Now it's just a work-in-progress relationship."

Elizabeth watched her husband as they chatted, while their drinks arrived. She plucked hers off of the table as she opened it, before drinking a small mouthful.

Kameron regarded Zara. "I doubt my father and I will ever be able to get along on any level whatsoever." he admitted. "All we ever do... is fight."

"That only continues when both parties keep it going," Zara pointed out from experience.

"Honestly... I'm sick of it... He's always harping on about how I'm responsible for my brothers death... it was an accident.." he sighed. "It was a paintball oversize."

"Eventually he'll figure out he loves you still and will apologize," Zara spoke with much hope. "My mom apologies many times for leaving me with my dad... We still fight on occasion, but nothing as nasty as it used to be."

"Well I have no faith in him..." Kameron shrugged. "In the end it doesn't matter.... I got lucky.." he explained. "I got a second chance and I got to undo some of my mistakes.."

Elizabeth had the good sense to blush at this point.

"Out of ruin you either smolder, or walk away and rebuild once the fires are out," Zara spoke with a huge grin. "And it seems you've done right with the ensign here."

Kameron turned his head as he regarded his wife with a soft smile and then he turned back to Zara. "I've got a lot of other things to do then fight pointless fights and add more issues to something that should not have existed in the first place." he responded. "I'm not even of his family anymore.... I did drop the name 'Solusar' and all the baggage that went with it... Torilla is much more accepting than Mom or Dad ever was.." he admitted.

Elizabeth sipped her drink. "Even with all the issues we've had on our own.."

"Yeah. Tell me about it.... " he sighed.

Elizabeth regarded her husband as she gently rubbed his shoulder with her left hand. "But you learned from your mistakes... as did I... granted some of mine were just spectacular..." as she sighed softly, Kameron meanwhile knew his wife was thinking of what she had done to Zara. "Beth... Some of your mistakes are worthy of song.. It however is a crying shame I can't get you to make Dad think he's a monkey."

Elizabeth opened her mouth to say something but she stopped at the last second. "Mmm... Now that appeals to me on a very primal level..." she regarded Zara. "Do you think I'll get cashiered out of Starfleet or sent to a black rock with no name?"

"The less I know, the better off," Zara laughed nervously. For the subject was still a bit touchy for her.

Elizabeth smiled, but it was a malicious and promised much misery. "It appeals to me... but we can plan our evil deed later.." she regarded her husband. "For now... Lets talk about something happier." she added.

"I think you need to apologise to your mom when she comes back," Zara suggested carefully. "If she goes to Furban and discovers you lied to her, she's not going to be all that happy."

Yamaguchi nodded her head. "Mom and I need to talk anyway." she responded. "We have a lot to talk about... and I have things I did which were wrong.... but I saved her life because of them."

Kameron regarded his wife. "Beth, Nobody is disputing that.... But considerable harm was done regardless... at least apologize to your mother, let her know that you at least understand what she's going through.. I'll be there for the conversation and I'll make sure things don't get ugly..."

"Let me know if you need backup, should Torilla not be reasonable," Zara volunteered with concern.

"Alright... I'll talk to her.... See how things go..." Yamaguchi responded quietly.

"Good," Zara sighed with a huge grin. The servers were arriving with their food. "Time to eat."

Kameron smiled. "Sounds great..." he responded as Elizabeth likewise smiled. "Mmmmm fish and chips.... nothing like it.."

"I prefer the beer," Zara smiled brightly as she drank from her stein.
