Mission: Mission 29: Songs Around the Campfire
Location: Planet Surface - Yeneer G1
Timeline: 0800Hrs - February 27th, 2391 - Time Dilation: 2 Years

Rachael Yamaguchi was tired but her infant was sick and she knew it. "Shit... Siaxx...what else you got?"

"Nothing.. I'm almost completely out of medicine.."

"Her fever is way too high... we need something to break it..." Rachael sighed. "Nothing is working... blasted replicator chooses now to go on the fritz."

Siaxx nodded as she had the side off of the replicator and she was trying to fix it. "I think its the power cell... Fortunately, we replicated one a month ago in case of something like this... but it'll take a few days to charge.."

"No.." Rachael's response was a soft whimper, she picked up her infant and went outside, trying to think of a way to cure her issues when she caught sight of a massive wolf like being who approached her.

"I wish you could help us big guy.." Rachael said aloud.

Greywolf, having understood a good deal of what she said, given how often Siaxx came to visit him over the past two years, simply nodded. He gently picked the toddler up and held her in his arms. Then felt for a temperature with her furry forehead.

He waved both Siaxx and Rachael to come with him, back to his pet and companion orobird, Halftalon. His walk these days were a bit on the heavy side, given his age, but he was happier than he had been in decades. To not be alone again was a welcome thing for him.

He motioned for the females to climb on his bird and held the sick babe up to Rachael once the women were securely on.

Rachael gently accepted the infant back from the massive being before her. "Where we off to?"

"Greywolf's home..." Siaxx answered. "Hang on."

The pace was enough to get to his place quickly, but not haphazardly. The trip was fairly lengthy as well, and had many hills to go up and down. Such terrain proved his age was well. His joints did not move as fast as they once did, and he grew a fair bit tired.

Once they reached his home, he tethered Halftalon and then offered to take the babe while the women dismounted. Then he handed the babe back to its mother before he showed them inside.

His massive hands pointed to a pallette for them for sit on as he began to mix herbs from the tiny jars along the far left wall of his cave.

Rachael followed in silence, she had heard Siaxx speak in such glowing terms of this massive being and now at long last Rachael was understanding why.

She was nervous as she followed Siaxx who seemed much more at ease as the Bolian grunted at question at Greywolf, Rachael caught the gist of it which meant. "What are you doing?"

Greywolf grunted out a reply that meant, "Making a powder to break her fever."

Siaxx nodded. "Ahh." she grunted back to him before she turned to Rachael and explained what was going on as the teen gently held her sick infant in her arms. "It'll be okay Saki... you'll see.... I hope.." she whispered.

Greywolf then pulled out a tough, massive nut from his food stores and cracked it open in a small cup. Mixed the power into it, and gave the coconut-like milk to Siaxx.

He grunted something that meant, "Sweet buffanut milk, to mask the taste of the power. Have her drink it slowly."

Siaxx nodded as she accepted the container while she thanked him, she went to Rachael as she gently helped Saki drink the liquid. "Slowly sweetie..." Siaxx commented softly.

"I shall get you some nuts to break, along with a pouch of powder," Greywolf suggested as he gave the two women space while he gathered the materials.

Siaxx bowed to him as she thanked him in Greywolf's language, or as close to it as she could get. "My friend and I thank you."

Rachael gently fed her infant with the milk, Saki for her part seemed to like it as the eighteen month old seemed to enjoy it.

"Her cub, she be fine in a few days," he grunted with assurance to her.

Siaxx smiled as she told Rachael what he had said before turning back to Greywolf. "Thank you Greywolf. You are a credit to your people... if and when we're rescued... I give you my word. I'll find them and take you home with us."

He groaned and growled something that translated as, "You have a mate, Little Bluemoon?"

Siaxx nodded. "I do... and I miss her," the small Bolian responded in the same language, meanwhile Rachael was busy feeding Saki who seemed to like the milk she was receiving.

"Mine died on this planet," Greywolf admitted in his tongue with his ear pulled back in sadness. "We came here trying to find a cure for our people... And we found one."

Siaxx gently pat the massive beings hand. "We'll bring it home to them as well... One way or another." she paused. "we just need to figure out how to refuel our birds... or wait for my ship to rescue us.."

"That is only if you can get communications going," Greywolf grunted at her.

"Our com system is fried but we might be able to build a new com system." Siaxx sighed softly.

"I could fix it, but your technology is not the same as mine," Greywolf offered casually.

"Its alright Greywolf." Siaxx responded in the same language.

"You should rest now. The young pup will be fussy until she is well. So you will want sleep," he suggested as he finished packaging the medicine.

Siaxx turned to Rachael as she passed along the information. "Do not worry.. you and Saki will be safe here.." she explained.

Rachael nodded as she handed her infant off to Siaxx who gently prepared the young child for a nap.

Rachael laid down next to a large stone slab as she closed her eyes, within moments she was asleep as Siaxx curled up next to Greywolf as the infant too was asleep.

This was not his pack, Grewolf knew. But he found himself oddly joyous with them around him.

Siaxx smiled as she regarded Greywolf. "Thanks for everything big man.." and with that she closed her eyes, within seconds, she was asleep.
