Mission: Mission 27: Into the Jungle
Location: Various Locations - Yeneer G8
Timeline: 1200Hrs - February 20th, 2391 - Time Dilation: Planet Day 5

"Hopefully this ammunition will work better," Aerin commented as he replicated some hollow-point ammunition for Teval and Hakaya's gauss rifles. Teval took the ammunition, saying," Yeah the regular rounds didn't do a damn thing. He looked over at Hakaya, whom was sleeping in the corner, with his three kittens curled up around her. The runabout door opened and Rachael and Siaxx walked in.

"Well.. collecting firewood won't be too hard... but we have a few smaller types of predators, some small birdlike creatures." Rachael explained. "The best part about them is that they can shoot at us from about ten feet out.." as she held up one of the conical stingers. "these things... I fished this out of a tree."

"Yeah... to add to it... they may or may not be poisoned." Siaxx explained. "the birdies in question are about three feet tall, about Velociraptor sized." the small Bolian commented.

Teval looked at his rifle, then said," We will need to come up with an alternative weapon for my rifle and the phasers, in case they should break down irreparably, I am replicating enough ammunition to last a while, about 5,000 rounds, but should the replicator break, there won't be anyway to replenish them."

Rachael nodded her head. "I'll start making some bows and arrows.."
she sighed softly.

Siaxx regarded her younger friend. "I will assist.... and we can make spears and spear-throwers."

Aerin picked up Teval's focus blade and stuck it in front of Teval, saying, "You and your sister need to start learning your energy manipulator powers."

Teval took hold of the Weapon, saying, " I guess you will be the one to teach us, huh."

Aerin nodded," Both me and Karryn know a fair bit. but you two, quite frankly, you suck at it, and we are going to be down here a while, might as well use the time."

Teval looked at Aerin apprehensively but didn't say anything.

"Making spears should not be hard.." Rachael explained. "We'll need a good supply of them.."

Teval absentmindedly pulled the nearly meter long blade from its sheathe, saying," yeah, sure, go ahead, I don't think I'll need them though."

"No... but I will." Rachael responded evenly. "We are going to be here for a very long time and... I like being prepared." the teen explained. "Also we need to expand our home lodgings... as we can't all live in here."

Teval set the weapon down, saying," Well, it would probably be best if we can find a decent cave of some kind, we are in a pretty mountainous area, so they should be around."

Siaxx nodded. "We'll start looking.... can the Runabout be used for low level flight?"

Rachael simply shrugged her shoulders. "If so. then she ain't going far..."

Teval nodded, then walked over at Hakaya, whom was still recovering from her injuries. " How are you holding up."

Hakaya gently stroked Teval's tail, " I could be better." With little warning, Hakaya pulled Teval to her, and wrapped her arms around him saying, " Well, I could use a good cuddle though."

Teval purred as Hakaya rubbed his ears.

Siaxx paused. "What about a cave complex nearby.... considering the terrain, I'm sure there are caves we can re-purpose for our uses."

Aerin added in," Well, we are at the base of a mountain range, and there are a few rivers flowing out of it, so there should be plenty of caves in it."

"Alright." Siaxx responded. "How far away is it... hopefully not too far" she commented.

"Not far," Aerin answered," Though we still need to actually look for the caves, since I haven't found any yet, but I haven't been looking for them either."

"Okay." Siaxx responded as Rachael raised an eyebrow. "Well we know the local wildlife will contest any move we make.."

Aerin shrugged, "well, its not like we can stay in here for however many years it takes for rescue, especially when the children start getting older, its going to get crowded quick, and we need a spot more secure than a tent."

Rachael nodded. "Alright... lets start looking for a set of caves then... see if we can find anything useful for our needs."

Teval was in the middle of being squeezed by his sibling, and he realized he was going nowhere for a bit. Aerin looked over at the purring Hakaya, then he asked Siaxx," So how much have her injuries healed up."

"They are coming along quite nicely." Siaxx answered. "If she were human, she'd already be dead." the small Bolian then shrugged.

Karryn, whom just walked up, commented lightly," yep, despite our cuteness we are tougher than we look."

"Yes, I assume that's something native to your species..?" Siaxx inquired.

Hakaya had finally released Teval, while Aerin commented, "Well, then it will be me and Karryn to start the search, we're both seasoned energy manipulators, and we can deal with whats around here."

Rachael nodded. "Alright." the pregnant teen responded.
