Ensign Elizabeth Yamaguchi was sitting on a bench on the Starbase Promenade, there was still a significant amount of snow on the deck and everywhere else. 1st Lieutenant Kameron Solusar was sitting beside her. "You always did enjoy the snow..."

"That's because I was born on a ship... I seldom ever see it.... but you're from a tropical world."

"Vega." Kameron reminded her. "Its a wee bit too cold for me." he smiled. "Sorry Beth.." he smiled at his girlfriend in a disarming way.

"Well.. the virus did create a winter snow-scape... The Admiral decided to speak to the guys who manage the promenade and here we are.." Elizabeth responded with a soft chuckle.

"Isn't the Admiral related to you?"

"She's my aunt on my fathers side... but I refer to her as the Admiral... keeps the impression of favoritism down... Helps people keep things in perspective."

Kameron smiled. "Fair enough..." he turned as he regarded the Polynesian Chapel nearby. "You ever thought about it?" as clearly he was considering it.

Elizabeth raised an eyebrow. "I have..." she looked at him coyly. "And I know you have..." as a smile crossed her face before she tapped her combadge. "Yamaguchi to Tane... Sir. I hate to bother you... but could you and Commander Saint come back to the Starbase Promenade. The Polynesian Chapel... Kameron and I will explain when you get here." Elizabeth's smile widened as she explained.

"Uh... Sure," Zara answered uneasily. "Be there in fifteen."

Kameron waited as he regarded her with a soft smile. "You okay with this?" he clearly was concerned about it.

"We have waited long enough... it was my mistake breaking up with you the first time... that's what lead me to-"

"What happened was not your fault Beth..." Kameron interrupted her. "You are way too hard on yourself... You always were. I made mistakes too.." Kameron responded as he gently took her hand in his. "Lets see if those two will help us... the way we helped them."

Tane was still dealing with Jacen's insistence on not annulling the marriage. But she met Jacen at the airlock and tried hard not to think about their stupid one-nighter.

"I'm not tattooing anything else for you," Zara told Jacen. Her shoulder still hurt. Well... more like the muscles. But just the same, it was a lot of work to move her arm.

"Fair enough, though if you don't mind my saying...you wear it well." he replied with a slight smile that held none of his snarkiness or assholishness. It was actually rather kind and a little sweet his expression towards her. But not overly so.

"Thanks." Zara blushed and replied, "You look very tiki yourself." Then she walked further into the area so Kam and Elizabeth could see them.

Kameron and Elizabeth both stood up as they watched Zara and Jacen approached. "Captain... Commander... would you two mind witnessing our wedding?" she inquired.

Kameron nodded. "No joke.."

"Why aren't your folks here for it?" Zara asked dubiously.

"Because the Yamaguchi's tend to be everywhere... It was something we had to discuss and deal with on our own... for us... had mom or Aunt April or Dad been involved, they would have insisted on a big, dramatic wedding." the taller woman explained.

Kam added. "The Yamaguchi's are also a very large family... We wanted our wedding to be for us and about us... not our families... besides... we can have a reception where everyone is invited."

"I have no problems with it then, so long as you tell your folks," Zara agreed.

Elizabeth regarded Zara. "Oh they already know Zara... Dad knows I'm getting married and I told him why he and mom were not invited... after I explained myself... and promising them that we-" she indicated herself and Kameron as she spoke. "-would hold a reception, they seemed to be alright with the idea... if they were disappointed with our choice."

Kameron regarded his wife-to-be. "They'll be alright... even if it takes awhile... its not like we're leaving the ship or leaving Starfleet though."
he commented.

Elizabeth nodded. "True... so Mom will have plenty of time to explain why she's disappointed." she paused. "I expect nothing less than a full hour on the subject..." it was clear that she was not joking on the matter.

"Its better then what my father-" there was something in the term 'father' that he hated but Elizabeth looked at her boyfriend with her dark brown eyes. "Will your family think less of you about this?"

"My family... I have no family.." Kameron responded quietly.

"You fine being the second witness to their marriage, Jacen?" Zara asked her mate.

"I don't mind...not like I can get in any deeper trouble with the Yamaguchi's," Jacen said with a slight chuckle, catching the venom that seemed to seep from Kam as Elizabeth said father.

"Besides it can be nice to have some familiar faces about."

Kameron nodded his head. "Indeed." he answered "Shall we?" he gently held out his hand to Elizabeth, who took it as he gently hauled her to her feet. "Lets do this.."

"All righty then," Zara nodded and took Jacen's hand as they walked together.

Elizabeth smiled as she regarded her husband to be. "Lets go." and with that the four of them walked into the small Polynesian chapel. A large man stood before them wearing standard nondescript clothing. "Greetings gentle-beings...." he looked at Zara and Jacen. "Are you two here to separate?"

Elizabeth smiled. "No... they are here to witness our wedding." she indicated the man next to her.

"Ah... then as I am free for the next hour... I will attend to your wedding myself... I assume something small with a large reception later?"

"Yes." Kam responded with a smile. "We wanted something quiet and small... for ourselves.. the reception is for everyone else."

"As long as you're aware that your folks aren't going to be happy with this, I'll do it." Zara rubbed her arm as she thought on it hard.

"Mom has little to be happy about these days... and my getting married will only be a minor distraction... Mom and Dad both know about it... Kam did the old fashioned thing in that he asked Dad's blessing before he proposed to me."

"Old Fashioned stuff is really nice on occasion," Zara agreed with a bright smile.

Kam and Elizabeth shared a look as the priest smiled. "Are you guys prepared?" he inquired. "Very well... I will make this simple and brief."

Zara stood behind the pair with Jacen, observing the whole ordeal.

Kameron and Elizabeth both turned to face each other as Kam went first with his vows. "I Kameron Solusar, take you, Elizabeth Yamaguchi to be my wife, I promise to be faithful to you, in good times and bad, in sickness and health, to love you and to honor you all the days of my life." he finished.

Elizabeth couldn't think of anything decent so she repeated his lines back to him, except with her own twist. "I, Elizabeth Yamaguchi, take you Kameron Solusar to be my husband, I promise to be faithful to you,
in good times and bad, in sickness and health, to love you and to honor you all the days of my life."

"Rings are optional... you don't need to have them now..." the priest explained. "and by the power vested in me... I now pronounce you husband and wife..." he added. "you may now kiss your bride." he said to Kam.

Kam gently slid his arms around Elizabeth's torso as his lips met hers as Elizabeth gently held her new husband close to her.

Zara clapped with a huge grin to the union.

The Priest smiled. "I'll go and see the judge... get you a marriage license sorted out."

"Well done guys," Zara smiled brightly.

Elizabeth turned as she gave Zara a hug. "Thanks for being here for this Zara..."

"You're welcome." Zara continued to smile.

Kam came over as he gently gave Zara a hug. "Thanks so much for this skipper..."

Elizabeth smiled. "Now we can plan our reception.... after Phoenix's babies are born... then we REALLY got something to celebrate.."

"I wouldn't say that in front of your mother," Zara warned carefully. "But yes, I agree."

Elizabeth paused. "Oh..." she realized her error. "right...right.." she sighed. "Yeah. Good thing mom didn't hear that.."

"You two should go have fun then," Zara prodded with an easy laugh.

"Siaxx is keeping everyone away except herself and the various medical staff, from Phoenix."

"And what's your take on that, objectively?" Zara asked the intern. "Overprotective of her betrothed? Or do you think it's the right call?"

"I would call it overprotective but only to a degree." Elizabeth answered. "Phoenix is somewhat fragile at the present time."

"I have yet to see her, so I don't know." Zara actually sounded sad at that as she sighed. "She doesn't like me, and I figure, to appease Furban, it best I not intrude on her privacy at the moment."

Elizabeth nodded. "Fair enough..." she paused. "I appreciate your consideration on the matter..."

"You two go have fun," Zara smiled. "Have babies later."

Beth smiled. "I might end up having babies of my own soon..." she slowly smiled. "But I'm going to wait until after the rest of my family's insanity settles first.."

"Probably a good thing," Zara agreed. "I'll let you two find a nice hotel to bed in, then."

Kameron smiled. "Again... thanks for being here Captain."

"It means a lot to us.." Elizabeth added.

"Anytime," Zara waved off and dragged Jacen with her back toward the ship.

Elizabeth smiled as she felt Kam gently take her hand in his as they went off to see the judge.
