I Hate Being Sick

Mission: Mission 20: Outbreak
Location: Various Locations - USS Roanoke
Timeline: 0800Hrs - December 27th, 2390

The last day had not been fun for Teval, though neither he nor Hakaya showed any sign of getting sick, since the plague has fallen on the ship. Fortunately, not too many of the deck crew had fallen sick, but many other sections where running at half or third strength, and sickbay was overloaded. It didn't help that everyone though he was going crazy when he occasionally said something out loud by accident when chatting with his AI. Then he heard his combadge beep.

"This is Tane... Find Torilla and run the ship. That's all," Tane spoke groggily and cut the line off.

Teval knew that Zara was on the bridge, so he figured Torilla might still be in her quarters. It was the only place he could think of right away. Outside her quarters, he hit the door chime.

Torilla groaned. "Uh..... Elizabeth, if that's you.... go away!, anyone else... come in.." she was wearing her uniform tank top and her uniform pants. "Teval... whats up?"

Teval could smell the sickness on her," Well, I'm here to check on you. Zara had just contacted me, and she feels like dogshit, and is wondering whee you where at, but seeing as you are clearly sick yourself, I guess its my turn then."

Torilla blinked. "Wait... why didn't she call me..." she paused. "where is my combadge?" she sighed before turning and suddenly making the mad dash into the bathroom so she could loose her breakfast.

"Oh fucking hell..." Torilla growled. "I'm going to kill my husband for this..." her voice came from the bathroom.

Teval poked his head in the bathroom, saying," Um, I guess you haven't gone to sickbay yet, because you know about the mess down there huh."

"Nope." Yamaguchi commented softly. "Why... whats going on?"

Teval commented softly," Yeah, we have an outbreak of something on the ship right now. I think its like close to two hundred people are sick right now, and cases just keep coming in. Your not the only one. And Tane's got it too, which is why I came here."

"An outbreak..." Yamaguchi's puking tapered off as she muttered something in a foreign language. "and here I was thinking it was just me being pregnant.." she looked at Teval. "How did we get an outbreak aboard... and I assume this isn't just a case of norwalk?"

Teval shook his head," No the medical staff isn't really sure what it is, it started hitting people yesterday morning, surprised you didn't know about it."

"Oh wait... I forgot... thats what that was about.." Torilla admitted. "I wasn't really paying attention to it at the time.." the taller woman sighed. "clearly I should have been."

Teval sighed," Yeah, that would have help. Anyway, since you feel like utter shit, I'll go ahead and relieve Zara instead."

Torilla nodded. "I'm Sorr-" was as far as she got before she suddenly collapsed.

Teval immediately wasted no time, moving next to Torilla, tapping his combadge," Medical emergency, transport Torilla Yamaguchi directly to sickbay."

"Aww crap... Sorry Commander. the transporter is down... the pattern buffer quite literally just fried but two minutes ago.... my guys and I are working on it..." he paused. "We're also sealed in here so the bug can't get to us... Sorry sir. your on your own."

Teval looked at the unconscious torilla, thinking, 'fuck, how am I going to do this, she is four times my size.'

Just then Kima piped up, "Hey, you could use self teleport to teleport her to sickbay."

Teval paused, saying, 'Oh, yeah, that shoul-' then the realization came to him, "Um, Kima, how do I self Teleport?."

Kima facepalmed, 'yeah right, you lost all those skills, Alright, put your hand on Torilla, picture yourself being in sickbay, I'll do the rest.'

Teval was unsure about this, but just did what Kima was told. In a few seconds, Teval felt an odd tingling sensation, and then a bright flash of light, he was in sickbay, though everything seemed looked upside down. He didn't have time to realize he was the one upside down, then he fell painfully on the floor, and Torilla then landed on top of him.

'You idiot,' Kima commented, as Teval yelped in pain.

Torilla was still out cold as Sokanon blinked her large eyes. "Commander... What was that?" the Caitian inquired

Teval, whom was almost completely covered by Torilla, commented in a muffled voice, "Get her,... off,... of, me.

Sokanon reached down and in a display of immense physical strength, she plucked Torilla Yamaguchi off of Teval who was lying prone as she placed the Exec on a bed. "Yep. She is infected... wow.. with one hell of a case of the heebee jeebies."

Teval, sat up, his back and head in pain, commenting, "Yeah its going to be a while before I attempt that again."

"Do what?" Sokanon commented as she gave Torilla the once over. "How did you appear in sickbay anyway?"

Teval stood up, hand to his head, "Long story, I'll explain later as you guys are busy." He then quickly walked out of sickbay heading to the bridge.

Sokanon nodded, before she turned back to Yamaguchi. "Stay with me Commander..." she commented. "I know you are in bad shape.." she commented.

Teval walked onto the bridge, to find that much of the bridge crew looked pretty ragged themselves, and Zara was hanging her head low in the captains chair.

"You got the bridge," Zara spoke immediately as she stood up and unsteadily walked back to her ready room.

Teval looked around the room, Lieutenant Nasao was at the tactical console, though looked very ragged, Lieutenant Mckinley, sitting at the engineering spot, also looked like crap, the helmsman looked drunk, and the rest of the bridge crew seemed to be no were to be found.

Teval sat down at one of the command chairs, then suddenly felt a massive wave of exhaustion set in. It was then that Kima added,' Oh, yeah, I kinda forgot to mention, self teleport is rather draining, even for high-level energy manipulators.'

Teval put his hand to his head, being sure to not accidentally reply out loud, 'Thanks for the warning.'

Kima replied sheepishly, 'well considering the situation, I didn't think it was an important detail.'
