Mission: Mission 19: Taking out the Garbage
Location: Various Locations - USS Roanoke
Timeline: 1900Hrs - December 24th, 2390

Siaxx poked her head under the bed. "Shonax... meow?" she inquired. "Where are ya kitty?" she sighed softly, wondering if he had gotten out. "Shonax?.. din dins..."

"He's gonna think you're his mate if you keep that up," Phoenix laughed while she played with Dora in the floor with a plushy, blue squeaky toy.

Siaxx looked at Jill, uncertain and unsure. "I can't find Shonax... I've not seen him since this morning.." she admitted.

"Knowin' him, he's probably gone ta hunt a vole or two," Phoenix suggested gently. "He'll be fine. That beasty can find any rodent easily."

Siaxx paused. "I hope he's okay..." she commented.

"Ya worry too much," Phoenix brushed aside as she tossed the toy a short distance, and watched Dora saunter over to the toy and lay down again. This time, to shake and squeak the toy vigorously.

Siaxx looked at Phoenix and then across to Dora. "She loves hanging around you."

"I'm her mom," Phoenix spoke with much joy, and yet she frowned when she thought of Aryssa. The kid still hated her for the revelation she was given.

"I wish I knew where Shonax was... its not like him to just up and disappear.." the small Bolian commented quietly as she watched Dora. "Does your mom know about her?" she indicated the German Shepard who seemed content to chew on her toy.

"She does," Phoenix smiled brightly. "Told her yesterday on tha holo. But I didn' have long ta talk to her. She passed me over ta Aryssa, who wanted ta yell at me for thirty minutes."

"That brat needs to learn how to shut the fuck up." Siaxx commented bluntly as she regarded Dora who looked like she was having a great old time.

"Siaxx...." Phoenix sighed, then pretended to steal Dora's toy, which reinforced the puppy's need to shake the plushy vigorously as if to kill it.

"Imagine for a moment, that you're mom told ya that you're dad aint your dad," Phoenix asked with much frustration to her own situation. "Everythin' you grew up ta think 'bout him is suddenly not true. How do ya cope with 'at?"

Siaxx paused. "You make a fair point..." she sighed softly.

"Thin' is Dear," Phoenix sighed as she laid on the floor beside of Dora. She decided the toy was good and dead, and began rolling in Phoenix's short hair. "...I feared bein' a mother. Still do. An' I coulda taken her as my daughter after tha war, but I didn' cause Mom didn' wanna push the issue on me. An' I also think lettin' her have Aryssa, let her feel like a mom again."

"So... Ary-whatever-her-name-is is going to continue punishing you for your choices..."

"Aryssa's a right ta," Phoenix admitted gloomily while she began to rub on Dora's belly. "She's been lied ta. Has no one ta trust now."

"No... that doesn't make it right..." Siaxx responded.

"We used ta be good friends," Phoenix spoke mournfully while she rolled to her stomach so that she could rough house with Dora some. "Why'd Mom have ta tell 'er so soon? What could she of expected from it?"

"Who knows..." Siaxx commented. "Why don't you ask her about it?"

"It's way too late ta call her," Phoenix protested. "With her dialysis an' chemo, she's still not gettin' better. An' she's also gettin' more tired."

"So.. you'll never get an answer." Siaxx commented. "Lovely.." the Bolian sighed softly.

"I just wish I knew how ta fix this shit hole I'm in with Aryssa," Phoenix sighed while she absentmindedly petted Dora's ears.

"Don't worry about it too much.." Siaxx commented. "You just need to decide to start..."

"I fucked her up," Phoenix finally admitted with tears staining her face when she sat up. "All she knows is lies now... An' I was tha one that did it ta her."

"Did you?" Siaxx inquired. "How about starting with Yeager.. the rat basterd that did the deed and impregnated you. Your mother never forced the issue and she allowed the situation to fester.... she chose to do nothing..... this is not all your fault."

"It's my fault tha cell was caught," Phoenix cried hard in that moment. In hysterics. "Mom's dyin' cause I led the Feds to her."

Siaxx gently gathered the human woman in her arms. "The Federation was scared out of their minds... it was a dark time when they turned on their own.." she commented. "they have since learned nothing." she pointedly commented. "You had good reasons for doing what you did..."

"The four buildings we blew up, on my info, got over thirty Fed civilians killed." Phoenix shook her head in shame, "All fer takin' out high-profile Spoonheads."

"Jill." Siaxx commented as she noticed Dora's distress as the dog whimpered ever so softly.

"You had good reasons for killing Cardassian scum.... they are not a part of the Federation and considering their crimes, they won't get in either..."

"You're tha only bright spot in my life right now," Phoenix spoke shakily while she started to pet Dora once more.

Siaxx smiled softly at Jill before she gave her a gentle kiss on the lips. "I will always be here and I won't leave you." she responded. "I love you."

"Could you love Aryssa?" Phoenix asked once her voice was under her control again.

Siaxx regarded Jill. "In time... after she and I got to know each other."
