Mission: Mission 98: Building Our New Home
Location: Hospital Complex - Starbase Vanguard
Timeline: 0900Hrs - July 18th, 2393

The main doors opened and in walked a rather large, striking female with a grin on her lips, she wore the uniform with a skirt and calf-high black boots. What was more was that Brigadier General Tyrael Fordring knew that she made the uniform look sexy on her as she went over to the desk. "Hello." she almost purred as she regarded the young man behind the desk.

"Morning General. What can we do for you?" the young human male responded with a gentle smile, clearly enjoying the attention of the female before him.

"I'd like a quick checkup. My troops and I have been in the field for quite a while and I'm just making myself known to your medical staff. I'd also like to talk to Lt Commander Gailaan Fordring. Its been too long since I've seen my mother." Fordring responded with her smile losing none of its potency.

The nurse nodded his head. "Of course General. I'll have Doctor Fordring come to collect you, as soon as she is free to do so," he commented with a nod.

"Of course, I'll have a seat in the waiting area." Fordring smiled before she turned and moved away, as she did, she ever so slightly began to swing her hips from side to side ever so slightly while the massive female moved into the waiting area. Fordring then sat down in a chair that she was sure could hold her impressive weight, she hated sitting in flimsy chairs which made her feel unsafe, Fordring glanced around when she suddenly noticed that all of the chairs present were extremely sturdy as a gentle smile graced her lips. She momentarily thought of her husband, Vice Admiral Sam Antilles and their children who presently lived with their father while he was on assignment. She hated being parted from him and she didn't care who knew it.

Meanwhile, back at the desk, the nurse tapped the display as she sent the notice off to the medical staff, seated in her office was Galiaan Fordring. A smile graced her lips as she got the notice that her eldest daughter was in the hospital and wished to see her. "Doesn't Tyrael know better?" she mused aloud. "Seriously, that woman has no respect..."

The nurse she was meeting with smiled. "Wait. Who's Tyrael?" she inquired.

Fordring regarded the nurse before her. "Well. That would be General Fordring to you, she's my daughter to me," Fordring answered, in a rather light tone of voice.

"Oh. Nice... Wait, hang on. Your daughter is a General?" The nurse seemed confused. "Of what service?" she sounded even more confused as she considered it.

Fordring could understand the younger woman's confusion as she was not as young as she looked. "The Starfleet Marines, she decided to walk a different path to me," Fordring answered. "I am in my seventies sweetie, as you reckon time," Fordring added. "My species ages slower, my children all serve in Starfleet and two of my granddaughters serve too," she added, by way of explanation. "Her children are quite young, however. Tyrael's children I mean"

The nurse looked confused. "Wow. I mean. Ummm... wow, you look good for your age." the nurse decided to stop as to her ears, the compliment sounded dull and hollow, even to her ears.

"So I have been told, often," Fordring answered, a merry twinkle in her eyes. "Is there anything else we should discuss?" she inquired formally.

"No. I think I got everything I needed." the nurse answered as she rose to her feet, expecting to be dismissed any second.

"Alright, you'd best go prepare for your examination then and I'll go see what ails the General," Fordring commented evenly as she rose to her feet, she lifted her medkit which she slung over her left shoulder before she departed her office, she went over to the front desk before the massive woman nodded to the nurse at the counter. "Hey, Fred. Is the General about?"

"Yeah, she's right over there." Fred indicated the larger than average female who looked like she was meditating. Fordring smiled to herself. "I'll take her now," she commented. "So you won't need to deal with her hormones. Its a weakness of the good General." The elder Fordring explained.

"Alright. Thank you, Doctor." and with that Fordring went over to the other woman. "General?" she raised an eyebrow as she was so used to seeing her daughter as a Colonel and not as a General, this was a new development. "Congratulations are in order, I assume?."

"Hello, Mother." The younger Fordring answered the older woman's statement. "It was a rather recent development. The Marine command in this area is worried about issues along the border so they wanted me to finish building up my unit and have them be combat ready soonest." the larger female answered with a smile. "The downside is that I'm living apart from Sam."

"Alright, fair enough," Fordring answered her daughter's statement with her own. "I am able to see you now, please follow me." Fordring addressed her daughter who got up and followed in silence. The two women walked into an empty examination room. "So. How've you been Tyrael?. Its been a while since we last chatted." Fordring smiled at her eldest. "You made Division General."

"Yeah, well I know the Marine presence in this region has been expanding and I was selected to command the 53rd Brigade, based on the USS Lancaster."

"The Lancaster?" the elder Fordring looked aghast at the idea. "That ship was a flying circus, as bad as the Roanoke was, if not worse," she commented. "You got screwed, girl!. I can only imagine how Sam thought of all this when you told him?"

"I heard, but that was before Melana Karunda was reassigned and command cleaned out the Starfleet crew with something akin to a firehose, half the crew got turfed out of the service altogether while the rest were all set to a hundred other assignments. No mom, trust me when I say that this is a whole new crew. Commander Rorik Falcon is her skipper these days." she paused., "Sam was not amused but he understood why the kids were upset and angry too."

"Rorik. Its been a very long time since I saw or heard from her." The elder Fordring sighed softly.

"Wait. You know her?" The younger Fordring inquired, she sounded surprised.

"I knew her, but that was a very long time ago." The elder Fordring explained in a soft tone of voice. "I thought she'd end up on a Starbase somewhere or out of the fleet entirely. I didn't think she'd want to head back into the fleet." Galiaan added in a quiet, reflective tone of voice. "Not after what happened..." she added quietly.

"Why?. What happened, mother?" Tyrael inquired, a curious look on her face as she regarded her mother.

"She was one of the cases who was too far gone when she got to me. I tried to help but... She was not having it." Galiaan explained with a soft huff. "No matter what I tried, I think therapy was forced on her and she wasn't ready." the elder female then shrugged. "Of course, I was still teaching at the academy then and she had been sent back for command school training but I knew that something had gone wrong on her assignment," Galiaan explained. "It took me a little digging at the time to find out exactly what it was since Rorik had turned into something of a statue on me."

Tyrael raised an eyebrow, clearly curious. "Go on?"

"Something had gone wrong between her and her boyfriend at the time, she had become pregnant and their relationship fell apart." Galiaan sighed softly. "She delivered twins and then she left, didn't even look back or even say goodbye. She was back in the regular fleet two days later and that was really the end of the matter. I contacted the counselor and chief medical officer of the assignment she was on, to inform them of events and that was the last I heard of her, until now." Galiaan explained as she placed her medkit onto the bed next to where Tyrael was sitting.

Tyrael regarded her mother with a contemplative smile. "Maybe she'll be happy to see you."

"No, she won't be," Fordring shook her head before she opened her tricorder and went to work. "Let's see." she paused as she regarded her daughter. "You are malnourished, you are ten pounds underweight so an extra portion of food per meal will soon cure that." the elder Fordring explained.

"Oh, I thought I was overweight." the younger female responded. "So... will I live?"

Galiaan smiled as she regarded her daughter, who clearly had her sense of humor. "Oh probably," she commented.

"Well. that's good to know," Tyrael answered as she regarded her mother.

"Other than the usual issues of someone who has too much mass in this gravity. No. I can't think of a thing." Galiaan answered evenly. "I'll update your records as needed," Galiaan added with a nod. "Your dad misses you, why don't you come over for dinner tonight?"

"Sure mom, spending time with you and dad, is always worth celebrating," Tyrael answered. "Will you have issues with the twins?"

"No more than usual," Galiaan answered with a smile. "I assume you and Sam are having issues between you?"

"Sam is assigned to command the Fifty-Sixth fleet these days, he's flagging on the USS Spirit of Luna," Tyrael answered with a smile. "The kids are staying with him. He does not mind and I can get work done."

"Nice, so he'll have been promoted to Vice Admiral then, How are the kids doing?." Galiaan answered with a gentle smile.

The younger Fordring smiled. "They are demanding me their father and of me, when I'm home to see them, that is... Starfleet seems to have a perverse delight in keeping us apart," she added. "I miss bedding my husband..." Tyrael added a moment later.

"You make it sound like such a chore," Tyrael answered with a slight smile before the let out a soft giggle.

"Only because you are such a horndog Tyrael," Galiaan answered with a smile. "Anyway, other then the obvious, you are in excellent health. Dinner is at eighteen hundred and I know your father will be overjoyed to see you."

"Well considering what was said the last time we saw each other. I would hardly be expecting him to be happy."

"That's because you were unsure of what you wanted and he has not realized that you would figure things out in time," Galiaan answered. "Don't worry, he's still your dad and he has always been proud of you," she reassured her daughter that all would be well, what had been said was almost a quarter of a century earlier and that was when father and daughter had been two completely different people. A lot had happened to both since then.

"Alright, I'll be there," Tyrael answered with a smile before she gave her mother a hug, then she took her leave. Galiaan picked up a PADD before she began updating her daughter's medical records.
