A Yamaguchi Twist

Mission: Mission 15: Old Ghosts
Location: Various Locations - USS Roanoke
Timeline: 1800Hrs, December 9th, 2390

Commander Torilla Yamaguchi was wearing civilian clothing as she was busy preparing a lasagna, with meat and extra cheese, she knew that April wouldn't care but Rachael was the one who was actually making dinner.

The door panel beeped as Torilla turned her head. "Its Open!"

The door opened and in walked Fleet Admiral April Yamaguchi wearing civilian clothing, it was rumored that when April had the chance, she changed out of her uniform even on duty, she apparently hated the damned thing but as one would say, that was just a rumor but at times, April did seem to encourage the rumor.

Torilla gently gave her elder sibling a big hug. "Ahh April, welcome."

"Hey Torilla... Hows the little ones doing?"

"Last time I checked.. they were doing well, the Doctor on this ship is nicknamed The Blue Tyrant because she's evil when crossed."

"Yes.. I've heard that about Doctor Dvald." April said with a smile. "What are we having, that smells fucking wonderful.."

"Today.. its lasagna," Torilla commented with a smile. "Rachael made it.."

The two women were interrupted by a loud meow from a small cat who rubbed up against Torilla's legs, the taller woman reached down and plucked the small cat from there he was walking up against her, she gently cuddled the cat against her as April smiled. "How long you had this little guy?"

"Pufftail and his mother were rescues from the flying scrapheaps that made the second wing on this rickety barge." Torilla explained. "Rachael and her guys saved quite the list.... Six cat, seven birds, about twenty rats, a dog, a fox, a raccoon, almost a hundred Cardassian Voles and several dozen hornets nests, including one monster nest with over fifteen thousand hornets.... oh yes, it was fun dealing with that,"

Just then the doors to Rachael's bedroom opened as the teenager emerged, the larger of the two cats in her arms, the teen cheered instantly at the sight of her aunt. "Oh hey Aunt April, hows life?"

"I'm bored out of my mind with this meaningless assignment, all I do is haul my ass back and forth between various starbase's, my kids miss you guys." April responded. "Hows life with you?"

"Its... complicated.." Rachael responded softly as she gently placed the cat in her arms on the deck as April gently slid her arms around the teen's shoulders. "Its okay sweetie..." she commented with a smile as she gently gave the teen a hug.

Torilla gently shooed the cats out of the kitchen as she gave her sister and daughter a moment alone as she checked the lasagna, she smiled as she pulled on a pair of oven mitts then she proceeded to put out the large platter, which she then set on the stove-top, then she turned off the oven.

She turned back to find that April was smiling. "It'll be okay sweetie. we'll be there as best we can."

Rachael nodded as she turned and went into the nearby bathroom, April came over to Torilla's side. "She's pregnant...?"

"Oh yes... Siaxx wouldn't screw with me like that..." Torilla explained. "It was her first sexual encounter.... she had been planning it for months, so its not like she had rushed into it, if she had, her father and I would both have been very angry with her... Gabriel and Savannah knows but Elizabeth doesn't... I've not talked to her about it yet." Torilla explained.

April nodded. "Fair enough..." she responded. "is she considering an abortion.?"

"April." Torilla commented softly. "Rachael isn't going to do that, she's said she wants to raise the child as her own, Jake and I will support her as best we can... but she has to want it for herself, not just go through the motions but she has to want it.... you know what its like to raise children you don't want.. and weren't ready for..."

"Paige and Kris... Yes I do know how it feels..." April commented. "If she wants my perspective... I'll help in any way I can... after all that's what family does for family... I've never turned my back on a fellow Yamaguchi and I'll not be doing it now..." she paused. "I'm Sorry Torilla.

"Fair enough..." Torilla responded. "Good..." Torilla smiled. "Rachael, dinner's ready.. come get some!"

The door opened to the bathroom and Rachael emerged, looking much calmer then she had been a few minutes earlier, Torilla knew her daughter had been weeping and needed a minute or so to calm down, she didn't mind because she knew that Rachael was going through a lot at the present time and it wasn't going to get any better over the next while, at least until the baby was born.

Torilla smiled as she lifted a ladle as she plucked a plate as she spooned a large portion for herself which she then set aside, then she portioned off a section for April and a third for Rachael.

She handed the plates out before the three women went over to the table, they all sat down before they started to eat in silence until Torilla broke the silence. "April... I need your help."

April raised an eyebrow. "You very seldom ask for anything... what do you need?"

Torilla smiled as she began to lay out her issues and concerns. "Starfleet is screwing with us... the Roanoke needs some serious repairs and we're not getting the yard time or the parts we need or even the technicians we need to fix our problems, we've got a computer core error that's getting worse and we've got a lot of other problems that's dragging this ship down... I need you to route me several hundred Engineers, a month of dock time and whatever spare parts I need... which will probably be a lot.."

April paused. "Your ship has a bad reputation among the fleet..."

"I know... Captain Tane and I are going to work on it... but she has a decent senior staff now.. but I need your help to get me the ship that Tane and I both need to sort this reputation out."

"Alright... sounds repetitively straight forward.."

Torilla however wasn't finished yet. "I mean April.. honestly... my CO's CO is fucking me in the ass and Its getting painful to deal with... I have no lube and no medication."

Rachael's jaw dropped open as her eyes opened wide. "Mom... thats just nasty."

April smiled. "Okay... Okay... Consider it done... now it'll have to be after your next mission...since this is last minute... but I can get you what you need..."

"April... you're the best.." Torilla grinned at the eldest remaining Yamaguchi before turning the attention back to their various meals in peace and quiet.
