Mission:
Mission 98: Building Our New Home
Location: Officers Lounge - Starbase Vanguard
Timeline: 1200Hrs - June 19th, 2393
Captain Siaxx Dvald-Vaxx smiled as she entered the lounge, she was wearing a one-piece dark green bodysuit that looked a lot like a bathing suit with sleeves and a rather deep cut down the front, a pair of a pair of waist-high shorts completed her style of dress, a pair of healhugger socks and a pair of runners completed the picture of a Bolian female who was out to be seen. Siaxx's usual attire was almost the opposite of what she was presently wearing as she would normally prefer jeans and sweatshirts.
Chen Vaxx was seated at the table he always prefered in the lounge, something towards the edges of the room, somewhere where he could keep an eye on things in the lounge and somewhere where he could relax. He was wearing his normal duty uniform. Chen nodded as he regarded his sibling who he had managed to convince to join him for lunch, despite the fact that she and his wife did not get along. Sildra was wearing the skirted version of the uniform with a pair of boots to complete the picture.
Dvald-Vaxx knew her kids were in school and she wanted lunch with her husband who was presently working with the science guys with their various assignments, he was helping Commander Fardreamer to keep the department working and people in line but the third person was not someone that Siaxx wanted to deal with as she noticed Sildra Vaxx-Warfield sitting at the table next to her brother, Siaxx could only feel a surge of hatred for the other woman but then considering their track record, one could expect only bad things to happen.
Sildra sighed as she laid eyes on Siaxx as the smaller female approached, she knew what was coming. "Siaxx.." she let out a sigh.
"What do you want Sildra?" Dvald-Vaxx's tone was cold. "Out with it.." the small female demanded a moment later.
Chen sighed, this was off to a fine start. "Ladies, please. Let's try to co-exist." Vaxx sighed as he tried to settle his wife down and keep his younger sister calm.
"Yeah." Vaxx-Warfield sighed. "When hell freeze over, right Siaxx?" as she suddenly grinned at the smaller Bolian female.
"You got it Sildra. Why are you sitting here?" Dvald-Vaxx glared at the other woman, as she crossed her arms under her breasts.
"Siaxx, you are never going to let this go. Are you?" Vaxx-Warfield responded, with a tired sigh.
"No Sildra, you knew about my history and you fucked with me all the same," Dvald-Vaxx growled back at her.
"Siaxx, sit down," Chen said quietly. "Please?" he regarded her with a soft expression as he asked his wife to comply using only his eyes.
Dvald-Vaxx took a seat at the table as she was bidden before she growled ever so softly at Vaxx. Chen knew exactly what Dvald-Vaxx was thinking, the look on her face said as much.
"Siaxx, really. I did what I did only because the regs left me no option." Vaxx-Warfield tried again, only to get shot down again by Siaxx.
"That's bullshit woman," Dvald-Vaxx answered. "You didn't give Manticore's crew time to adjust to me being in command before others appointed me and you relieved me, you got how many transfer requests because of that?" the small Bolian inquired. "Oh, I know you got some... Commander Ferris told me as much, she saved Chen's career from your stupidity."
Chen sighed softly. This was going nowhere and he knew that his wife was on a roll, what's worse was that he knew she was also right, Sildra could have handled things far better then what she had done, but instead she fell back on the regs which were more or less inflexible on the subject and she very nearly destroyed a ships entire crew with over a hundred transfer requests, all because she thought Siaxx was unstable. Chen had his own share of harsh words for his sister. "Sildra, she's right, you did very nearly cause a ship's crew to come apart at the seems because of that hairbrained stunt you pulled," he commented in his usual flat tone of voice.
"The regs backed me," Vaxx-Warfield explained.
Dvald-Vaxx glared angrily at the other woman. "As long as you hold that mindset, we'll never get along. You are a threat to me." the small woman glared at the larger Bolian.
"That alone tells me you are unstable," Vaxx-Warfield answered.
"That's not unstable." Dvald-Vaxx rose to her feet "You want unstable, I'll show you just what unstable really means." the small Bolian then went to smack Vaxx-Warfield with her closed fist but Chen, who knew that all of this was coming, had caught his wife's arm right at the last second and he pulled her back, away from his sibling and onto his lap, since she was much smaller then he, himself was. "That will be quite enough out of the two of you," he said in a tone that brooked no argument whatsoever. "Siaxx, do not hit her, please. Sildra, stop egging her on." Chen then reprimanded both his wife and sibling in quick succession.
"Figures you'd take her side." Vaxx-Warfield snapped at her brother while Dvald-Vaxx sat back down in her chair, she said nothing as she knew that her husband was right in what he was saying to them both.
"Sildra, has anyone ever tell you that you can be incredibly dense at times?" Chen inquired of his sibling. "You should have waited before pulling that insane stunt on the Manticore. "You didn't even give her crew twenty-four hours before you relieved Siaxx of her command. You very nearly destroyed that entire crew in the process.." Chen explained in quiet tones. "You made Derris Feraan's life a living hell for about two months because of what you did. She deserved a fucking medal for saving that crew."
Sildra regarded him, a dark look in her eyes. "You know why I did it."
"Yes, you also honked off her entire crew in one go, I resigned in protest over it, it was Derris Feraan who talked me out of it," Chen explained with a soft sigh.
Sildra sighed softly. "Well, it doesn't matter as I'm heading back out into the field anyway."
"Have you heard nothing that either of us has said?" Vaxx-Dvald growled, ever so softly. "Godammit Sildra. Do you even listen? You have a habit of fucking up and you are heading back out into the field again, to fuck someone else around, again and you'll come back because someone else actually smacked you across the face rather than the love tap I gave you because you hurt someone, again." Vaxx-Dvald explained, in harsh, clipped tones.
Vaxx-Warfield regarded the smaller female before her. "Enough. Siaxx. You've made your point."
"I doubt it actually." Dvald-Vaxx gave the larger Bolian female with a sardonic grin as the waiter suddenly appeared. "Can I get your order?"
Dvald-Vaxx was suddenly very thankful for the interruption. "Yes please." the small Bolian female suddenly grinned as she regarded the man. "Could I get two hot dogs with cheese please?" the small Bolian explained.
"Right away." he turned to Chen. "For you sir?"
"I'll have that too," Chen answered before Vaxx-Warfield placed her own order before the waiter departed, leaving the three Bolians alone.
Vaxx-Warfield glowered at her sister in law. "You always seem to rebound just fine Siaxx."
"I was unfairly demoted, you know why Sildra. Stop making a big deal out of someone else's criminal activity." the small Bolian protested. "I mean it Sildra, you won't be welcome at my table if you keep this up," Dvald-Vaxx answered with a soft growl. "You are judging me unfairly, Starfleet JAG cleared me of everything that had been done to me." as she gave the larger female a rather evil glare.
"Ladies this isn't helping." Chen tried to mediate the issue that was brewing.
"Yeah.." Sildra suddenly got up from her chair and stood up. "I've heard enough from you Siaxx. I got nothing more to add, you got away with murder and you don't deserve a command. You are insane and you know it."
"Yet, you are the one who's losing their mind at me and in public no less," Dvald-Vaxx answered in a cool and calm tone of voice. "Sildra. Get out already before you force someone to call security to have you thrown out of here." the small Bolian female growled ever so softly.
Vaxx-Warfield turned and walked away, as she let out a soft growl in her voice, there was no mistaking her hatred for the smaller female.
The waiter came back a few moments later. "I'm sorry... is everything alright?"
Dvald-Waxx nodded. "Everything is fine. Please still bring us Sildra's order as I intend to ensure its enjoyed. My children will thank me for the extra food." she explained with a gentle smile.
"Alright, I'll have it brought to you in a to-go box. If that's alright?" the small female inquired.
"That will be fine. Thank you." Dvald-Vaxx answered as the man dropped off their drinks and withdrew. The small female regarded her husband in silence, not because she was afraid of him but because she knew he needed a moment to calm down after what was said and what just happened between herself and his sibling.
"I'm not angry with you Siaxx. I was expecting you to jump on her and start laying into her with your fists," he commented in a quiet tone of voice.
"I had thought about it," Dvald-Vaxx admitted softly. "But I am in public and there is no need to make a situation worse." the small Bolian female explained before she sighed. "I have enough issues and concerns I need to worry about, I don't need any more Chen.."
"I know Siaxx. It'll be fine. Besides, we can eat and bring home some food for the kids, we all get something of what we want." the larger male responded.
Dvald-Vaxx nodded her head. "Yeah, that works for me." as the two of them settled in to wait for their food.
