Mission: Mission 15: Old Ghosts
Location: Various Locations - USS Roanoke
Timeline: 0930Hrs - December 4th, 2390

Jacen had left his limber little minxes quarters in the wee hours of the morning, far from sober but more than capable of finding his quarters and ending up on his couch passed out. He woke a few hours later feeling as if someone had detonated a tri-cobalt charge inside his head as the room spun. He smelled heavily of sex and smirked as he stripped out of his clothes from the previous evening and stumbled into the shower stall. As he let the hot water beat down on him, he thought about how he didn't know who the Trill was or what department she worked in, but he would definitely have to find that out as he wanted to see if she might want to have some fun again in the future.

He dressed quickly, knowing that he had to check in with the CO as he did have work to get to on the ship, but he didn't much care about what punishment he might receive for being a day late in checking in. After the shower he felt in the neighborhood of human and dressed quickly before heading out the door to go to the bridge.

Zara woke up on her belly, which she never did, as she slept best on her right side. But when she began to roll out of bed, she registered a lot of muscles that ached. So that in itself confirmed her rough not was not some drug-induced illusion.

Still... It took her over an hour to walk a good portion of the pain off and clean herself. So by the time she got to her ready room, she had to replicate a air pillow for her bum to sit on. Why her bum still hurt, she did not know.

But as she was still hungover, she also made it a point to keep the lights dim and replicated a cup of coffee before she sat down.

Jacen had reviewed a little about the command staff of the ship, ignoring the pictures of the CO and XO as he scanned through their personnel jackets. Though he focused on Zara Tane's, she had an impressive record for insubordination and striking superior officers than he did in recent history.

Granted he had only been at that game for about a year now, but still he had wracked up some impressive demerits of his own. He stepped out onto the bridge and strode across to the ready room and pressed the chime.

"Open," Tane called out, then took a sip of her coffee to try to drown out the sharp chirp the door chime made.

He stepped through the doors after finally getting an answer in to the dimly lit room, wondering if he had intruded on the Captain trying to sleep. "Commander Saint reporting in Captain."

When Zara looked up at him, she sat speechless and uncomfortable. She met him, alright. Her rump hurt greatly from that first meeting. And she turned red of embarrassment as she looked away from him.

"Erm..." She was so completely caught off-guard that Zara forgot what she wanted to tell him.

Oh so the captain is my limber little minx, he thought to himself as a smirk worked its way onto his face. He approached her desk and took a seat on the edge of it as he watched the furiously blushing woman. "Well gorgeous if I had known I had been bedding the Captain I might have been a tad bit more gentle."

What she wanted now, was booze. Oh-eight-hundred was way too early for that. And then again, drinking while in the same room as Him might invite yet another round. A round her backside could not withstand for a while.

Again Zara tried to recompose herself and form the sentence she intended to start with, for her new chief of security. Yet no matter what, that blush and shame of her grave misjudgment from the night earlier, did nothing but make her mute.

What could she do? Zara did the next best thing from talking. Keeping her intense brown eyes on the desk, she handed him a PADD filled with his access codes. Though she was not religious, she prayed in that moment to get him out of her office as fast as possible, so she could die of embarrassment.

Jacen reached out to take the proffered PaDD and let his finger brush lightly over her wrist and the back of her hand. "Are you okay Captain? anything I can help you with?"

And that caused Zara to find herself again. Voice and all. She slapped him across the face. Well... maybe not her true self. Had she been given enough space, she'd of decked him good.

"We are not that close," Zara quickly added with the slap. But then she backtracked. "I mean.... we sorta were. But... well... Why the fuck did you not tell me who you were last night?"

Jacen grabbed his jaw and rubbed it where she had slapped him as the sound seemed to echo in the room a little, his head definitely did not appreciate the sudden jarring motion. "Fuck woman, last I checked you weren't exactly interested in sharing personal information last night...I remember correctly you were eyeing me up and down like a slab of meat."

His retort back was hard as he stood up and turned to face her, to be fair though he hadn't been thinking with the right head either once he had caught sight of Zara and well...they both knew where the rest of the evening had led.

Zara could only bury her head in her hands and even that did not help. So she had to fold her arms on the desk and bury it that way. When she did talk, it was muffled from her hiding spot. "If I knew the answer to fix this, I would suggest it."

"Who said anything about there being something that needs fixing?" he asked, a little confused now at her statement, they were two consenting adults who had a rough sexual encounter with one another.

"We were two adults who have had sex, where is the issue?"

That was a good question. There should not be one, yet Zara felt as if she had somehow debased herself.

"I..." Zara bit her lip in that moment. Hard enough to draw blood, if only to make herself angry enough to find her voice. "I was stupid last night," Zara answered as she kept her face in her arms.

"Stupid..." The Trill repeated, "Because I... well I looked weak a lot, last night... And I'm your CO."

"Still not seeing the problem," he replied with a shrug and nonchalant tone to his voice. "Zara, you were an attractive woman fulfilling your sexual needs last night and I was a the handsome stud that went home with you...you didn't approach me as my CO and ask me to fuck your brains out...well not so much asked..."

He trailed off and shook his head as continued to watch her hiding her head. "But the point is your authority is still intact as the CO...I am just a little more familiar with you than the rest of the crew are is all."

Oh he made it sound so simple and entanglement free.

Zara's head rose only enough for those very intense brown eyes to look at him skeptically.

"So... erm..." Her eyes darted right and left as she fought for words. "You erm.... You don't want anything out of me then?"

"Does wanting to have sex with you again count in that regard?" he asked with a smirk as he met her dark gaze with his emerald eyes, a twinkle of mischief present there.

Zara cringed when she adjusted herself in the chair. Her bum did not want to be moved much. Clearly. And that movement almost denied him completely.

"Not in the immediate future. But if it's just sex, sure." That sounded fair enough to her at least.

"I apologize for that...but it would be just sex, I don't want, need, or desire any kind of emotional entanglements in my life." he explained and then smiled.

"I don't want any emotional attachment either," Zara admitted as the embarrassment started to recede.

"Sorry about leaving you in this state, might have gotten a little rough."

"Meh... the ship's CMO can fix anything," Zara tried to push aside. But even so, she cringed when she thought about the questions that might be asked.

"It is good to hear that, but such trips are something that I will work to make sure aren't a regard thing for you."

"That would be good," Zara agreed with a blush.

"So now that we have that out of the way, is there anything I should be made aware of, or unaware of, as the ships chief of security?" he asked while watching her, seeing the cringe for when she would have to give an explanation for her state to the good doctor.

"Cell six in the brig is reserved for Phoenix, since it's likely she'll be in the brig a lot," Zara informed. Happy to be on a new subject. "Brig gets the most use as a drunk tank. So most security concerns will probably be during the after-hours for the crew."

"Well if what I saw last nigh in the Green Dragon was any indication, should be see a good portion of the crew filtering through there." he said and pressed his thumb to the corner of the PaDD to unlock it as he scanned through the list of authorization codes.

"So is Phoenix the resident problem child on a ship crewed by the problem children of Starfleet?"

"That. And the Queen of Drunks," Zara spoke. Not holding anything back so far as her CAG went. "She also tends to screw anything with legs when heavily drunk, which gets old after a while."

A part of Jacen perked up when Zara dropped that little tidbit about the CAG, but otherwise kept his face neutral as he listened. "So I'll just be keeping her there until she sobers up or do we keep charges levied against her and she works things off in a tab situation?"

"I'm thinking a case-by-case basis," Zara spoke with a frown. "She and I don't really get along by default."

"Hmmm I see, any particular reason or something that is none of my business as the Chief of Security?"

"I honestly don't remember at this point. But it's more or less a blood feud that spans almost a decade," Zara said none-to-proudly.

"Well then, I'll make sure that it is myself or the XO that deal with her and keep her out of your hair then." he said and stood up from the edge of her desk.

"Any house rules for the ship I should know about aside from the damages payment for fights in the Green Dragon?"

"Just that I expect to see some disorderly behavior. But if it's something that will get people gravely injured or killed, I want it stopped," Zara added after a long moment to her thoughts.

"Can do boss," he said with a nod given lightly and found that he didn't have any reason to stay as all of his official business was concluded here. "Maybe I'll catch you sometime later at the Dragon, buy you a drink."

"I'd like that," Zara nodded with a small blush, yet again.

"And maybe take you back to your quarters for a more gentle evening in." he said with a smile and a wink, being charming in spite of himself as he lingered a little despite having work to catch up on.

"Umm..." Zara bit her lip. Shy. "We'll play it by ear, yes?"

"Yeah, but I think we should stay away from the Romulan ale next time...give each other a fair and mostly sober shake at one another."

"I will eventually repay you for last night," Zara retorted playfully. "When my ass recovers, that is."

"I'd be sorely disappointed if you didn't Zara," he said with a slight smirk on his face as e heard her playfully response, she was fun in that hard running sort of way. Just what he was wanting in his life, no desire for attachment and smoking hot to boot.

He wasn't sure if he should buy a lottery ticket or not.

"You got a department to sort," Zara waved him off with a small laugh. "Arrogant prick, you are... Should be interesting, if anything, having you around."

"Oh I prefer to think of it as being supremely confident in my own abilities." he replied with a smile and a wink as he headed for the door in order to leave the Trill Captain to her own work load of running the ship.
