Mission: Mission 14: Rage Rage Rage Against the Dying of the Light
Location: Various Locations - USS Shadow
Timeline: 0800Hrs - April 17th, 2389

Maxwell finally had a day off. Probably a mistake on his part, considering what he did for pass times. For the scanners within Shuttle bay two, they were going haywire with unidentified energy signatures that were spiking and stabilizing within. Visuals were not available, and there were issues on with internal communication all over the deck. Was it intentionally happening? No, cause and effect. But what was seen within the main shuttle bay was almost down right odd. There Maxwell was, Twenty feet off of the ground and ten feet off of the top of the top of a shuttle craft hull, gripping two and a half feet tall small hand held tube with the top and bottom glowing pieces glowing surrounding him in a orange transparent sphere, just hovering there. Peering down towards some sort of read out. Of course there were some personal staring up at him, tricoders in hand, ranging from scientific expertise and energy field specialists. Even one of the combat personal, with a series of on board standard starfleet weaponry and test projectile weapons, set to the lowest settings and rubber tips. Aimed to test, not to harm.

"Alright, readouts from here look stable, sir." The man from the upper console area hidden away by strong transparent plexy glass.

"Alright, It's official...." He commented to himself before he turned his head to look to his staff. "THIS IS TOTALLY WICKED!" He crowed out at the top of his lungs before he cocked his head back and gave a sort of wild cackle laugh. And that was when his hearing had picked up on the fact that there thick doors had just closed and that there were armed personal within the room. That was when in his excitement, he took one hand off of the device and waved at them with that arm enthusiastically. "Hey Guys! Welcome to the Madhouse." And that was when things went wrong. The sphere began to ripple and shudder. "Kay, Things are getting weird. Energy Spike, waveform solidity destabilizing."

"Controlling matrix compromised, registering coupling failure." A man with a tricorder on the ground told him... just as the sphere disappeared and he fell face first into the hull of the shuttle, bounced off and landed on the hard plating ground, on his back. "Kay.... Ow.... That was weird. ZU LI! WRITE THAT DOWN!" He ordered bringing his one arm around to point in some random direction that was not in any way shape or form where his female assistant was standing. He commented as he sat up, groaning as his back popped in several places as he did so, before he tilted his head to the side, popping his neck. "You see everyone. This is the reason we run tests. Just so that way you don't do what I did."

The door to the main shuttle bay opened and in came Commander Telios Wintersnow. "Would someone mind explaining to me just what in the seven hells is going on??" the Draenei executive officer commented as she crossed her arms over her chest.

Maxwell looked down to the piece of tech that he had in his hand, twisting the pole this way and that, just staring down to it. And then he noticed something. "What's going on is that there is a bubbling formation along the side, signalling some sort of overheating. A shame. Really. Could be something wrong with the stabilizers, the field emitters, the power couplings. Good thing is though, the power source maintained. So we're on the right track guys." He commented with a chuckle. And that was when they just all grinned and nodded their heads. And then he looked towards the Door to their guests and he just blinked towards them.

"Oh right. Your here, Commander. I'm sorry... You were asking... " He stated looking a bit confused over their presence, before he blinked and remembered that she had asked a question. "Oh right. What we're doing here is working on a new shield device with a differing wavelength, with surprising results. Smaller, stronger, portable, and capable of taking a pounding. And fascinatingly enough, capable of cancelling out gravities relativity. Naturally, we're testing it." He commented with a chuckle as he walked over to the portable work table that they had set up and he began to open the small device.
