Mission: Mission 13: The Space Between
Location: Various Locations - USS Shadow
Timeline: 0900Hrs - March 2nd, 2390

1st Lieutenant Tienn 'Havok' Nerra was not a large woman by any stretch of the imagination
as she placed the phaser mini-cannon back onto the rack where it was located before shedding
the half dozen other weapons she had concealed on her person.

"Private." she addressed the only other woman in the room. "How many of these mini-cannons
do we got?"

"Including the one you just put back, three." Ryi replied.

"That few huh..." Tienn raised an eyebrow. "Tell me something.... you got a thing against me?"
Tienn inquired bluntly.

"What?" Ryi was a little taken back by the change in Tienn's demeanor. "I don't have anything
against you." Ryi told the bajoran without making eye contact.

"Your hostility when you greeted me said otherwise... now ... I want to know why you felt
the need to jump on me like that...?" Tienn inquired, it was polite but there was no mistaking the
demand that was unspoken behind her question.

"Oh, that." Ryi said with a grimace on her face. Ryi looked at the deck when she addressed Tienn's question. "It was just that..." Ryi stopped to think her words out better. "It's cause you're pretty and getting all the attention. When you first arrived on board the guys were looking at you the way thirsty Klingons look at a keg of warnog. I was treated like half dead racht."

Tienn raised an eyebrow. "Pretty.... is that in physical looks Private or or mentally stable... or is it something else?" the smaller Bajoran woman inquired as she drew a rather evil looking dagger which she deployed from her wrist gauntlet. "I got my fortune cookie cutter right here." the dagger itself was rather evil looking, it was serrated on one side as she grinned at a nearby dummy, before plunging the blade into it. "Come 'ere you little punk." before ripping the blade out. "Private, a couple of things before you agree with all the men here who want nothing more then my ass... and little else..."

"What?" Ryi asked, a little taken aback. "That really wasn't meant as an insult. I don't care if you want to sleep with half the ship." Ryi answered, a little anxiousness in her voice.

"I'm here for only one thing... to make our enemies drown in their blood..." Tienn regarded the shredded dummy as she slowly slid her evil looking blade back into its holster on her right hip. "Based on looks.. the guys here want one thing.." Tienn commented. "but who is hotter.... you... or me?" she inquired.

"I don't know, honestly. Back on Andoria mating is a lot more complex. It takes four people. It is more of a business arrangement. One considers health and financial means when procreating. Looks and the feelings aren't a priority. In Star Fleet there are just two people. I'm not used to having a single male desire me for my appearance or personality." Ryi told Tienn.

"Really... thats... not what I was expecting.." Tienn commented evenly as she slung her phaser carbine that she had slung over her back, from where it was sluing as she slipped it back where it belonged.

"I'm still new at this kind of interaction. I will confess that I rather enjoy the attention from the males." Ryi candidly told Tienn.

"Mmm... well I tend to prefer the direct approach... but I am a one man kind of girl...." Tienn commented. "I'm happy to leave the beauty contest with you as the winner, I'm too crazy for it... I enjoy the blood of my enemies and the screams of my victims...." she sighed. "I was happy once.... now I just want to share my insanity with the rest of the galaxy..."

"What happened to you?" Ryi asked with empathy in her voice.

"An old boyfriend decided he wanted more then just me..." Tienn removed her wrist gauntlet as she placed it onto the deck before her with the other dozen or so weapons, Tienn clearly liked to carry around a half ton of ordinance, including grenades, phaser sidearms, a carbine and a heavy mini-cannon. "I objected.... because he lied to me.... we got into a fight... we both ended up in the medcenter... except I came out worse.. naturally.. he then snuck in and tried to kill me...I was forced to kill him in self-defense..." she then shrugged. "I then realized the only one constant in the universe.... war..." the smaller Bajoran woman then slowly smiled. "He took something from me..... something.... I never realized I even had.. until then.... my self respect.. my pride and my dignity." the smaller Bajoran woman regarded Ryi Amlari with her blue eyes.

Ryi stood there with her mouth agape.

"You asked me about counting for the Cardassians." Tienn commented. "Considering my former boyfriend... was a Cardassian.. That's why I pulled my sword on you." Tienn looked down at the deck plating as she paused. "Had you known..... would it have made any difference?"

"No." Ryi replied. "No I wouldn't have. I'm so very sorry." Ryi told Tienn as she started to gently weep.

Tienn knew honesty when she heard it. "We all make mistakes Ryi... I was expecting a hostile welcome... and I was not disappointed..." she then moved over to the taller Andorian woman before gently placing an arm on her shoulder. "Besides... I keep expecting the worst from people.... but the people here are... different." Tienn regarded the Andorian Shen. "More at peace with themselves... and the rest of the galaxy.." she then sighed softly. "I'd forgotten what that felt like..."

"You can change the direction of your life. You don't have to be unhappy." Ryi answered.

Tienn almost smiled. "You're an optimist... I'd forgotten what you people were like...." she paused. "I used to be so much more... how do I let go of all my anger... all my hate?"

"What your last potential mate did to use was horrible. Your angry about it because that's a normal reaction. You should be angry." Ryi told Tienn. "Unlike most of the Federation, we Andorians don't view anger as a bad emotion. Rather, we view it as a natural untapped energy. You can focus your anger into positive actions. If you don't channel your anger then it can become toxic. Tienn, your anger is hurting you because you are fighting it and not channeling it. Find a use for your anger and you'll find peace." Ryi told the Tienn.

Tienn regarded the Andorian Shen in silence as she silently found herself re-evaluating her opinion of the Shen from uselessly worthless to someone worth keeping around. "I only have two uses for it.... combat training and uses on the battlefield." the smaller Bajoran woman sighed softly.

"Combat training is good but a little limited. Maybe you should try to explore other outlets. Maybe dancing or the martial arts?" Ryi suggested. "It is not important how you use your anger what is important is that you expel it."

"Mmm... Martial arts could be intresting... same with dancing..." she paused. "I'll look into it."
