Yeah... That sounded crazy when Phoenix spoke that worry aloud. And she braced herself for admitting it too.
"You are my girlfriend and we will find out who you are soon enough." the Bolian smiled. "We'll find her together."
"Will I still be the best pilot with all these new changes going on in my life?" Phoenix knew she thought very vainly in that regard of her life. But she left her painting when most her siblings died. Being the best pilot was really all she had in terms of her identity at the moment.
"You're piloting skills can only improve once you adjust to the changes.." Siaxx responded.
"....I need to thank the elf," Phoenix noted in reference to T'Lar. "She got 'em to release my folks an' I aint used to being polite."
Siaxx gently placed her hands on the human woman's shoulders. "Hey... she did what she felt was right." she added gently. "You don't need to go and thank her right away.... let it go for now."
"When should I go thank her then?" Phoenix asked with confused eyes.
"Once you have some idea of what you want to say and how you wish to say it." Siaxx regarded her with kind eyes. "No use going to see her when you're like this... take a deep breathe..."
"I'm sorry," Phoenix spoke all nervously. "It's just my folks are coming. An' this will be the first face-to-face I have with Aryssa... It's a lot for me to take in."
"She will undoubtedly feel the same as you do when she finds out that you're her mother," the Bolian responded. "you'll get to see your family for awhile and it'll be healthy for you."
"You really think so?" Phoenix asked skeptically.
"Again." Siaxx responded. "I can see it in your eyes.... you have no idea where to go from here.."
"I don', no... Not had a family in a long time," the pilot admitted shakily.
"A fair statement." Siaxx said softly. "why don't you let them tell you what they expect from you.." she commented. "they could surprise you..."
"I'm all ears," Phoenix offered as she made to take mental notes now on Siaxx's speculation.
"They will know what you risked for their freedom." Siaxx blinked her dark eyes. "This means you're going to become part of his game weither you want it or not." both women knew exactly who 'he' was. "So you'll need to be ready for him... and when you make your move, make sure I'm in the same room so I'm the one who throws him out." Siaxx commented. "He might have leverage on you... but he's ain't got shit on me." her smile then widened. "I hope he starts some shit with me... I really do... so I can have him legally arrested."
"I plan to deck him... Then ask for a mercy plea from The Elf. Don' think she'd object to me agreeing to anger management over decking Him," Phoenix spoke hopefully.
Siaxx gently placed her hands on the human woman's shoulders. "How about... you leave him to me." she smiled evilly. "I will... handle him..."
"I want him ta know he don't own me," Phoenix spoke very soberly to Siaxx. "Putting the fear of God in him, is something I feel needs ta happen. What you do to him? I rather not know. That way I can't get caught in a lie. Nor can The Elf probe it from my mind."
Siaxx smiled. "Fair enough...." she commented with a smile. "However... don't do anything that will cost you your dignity or self respect."
"One of the reason I don' want a new hand is because this metal one is stronger than a Klingon's arm," Phoenix noted a bit darkly. "It's come in handy a lot. An' I like the fact I can crush his nose with it in one punch."
Siaxx regarded the other woman. "Don't hit him... you need to be more subtle Phoenix. Don't attack your enemy head on... come at him from another direction and let me serve as a distraction."
"I aint a subtle person. You should know that by now," Phoenix warned gently.
"Yes.. and he knows it too." she responded. "odds are that he knows your entire rule book, front to back..." she commented. "but first.. lets welcome your parents properly. focus on them for now.... deal with that rat-basterd when he arrives."
"Sounds all right to me," Phoneix agreed.
"How long before they get here again?" Siaxx inquired with a good natured smile.
"Few hours," Phoenix said as she checked her watch.
"I can't wait to meet them." Siaxx smiled at the other woman as she raised an eyebrow. "How long exactly.... because... I need a shower..." she commented as she looked at Phoenix. "and... so do you." she gave the human a look which she hoped would covey what she was trying to say.
"Your species has one hell of a reserve of stamina, Goddess," Phoenix laughed, and then leaned in to kiss her. "They are coming via civilian transport. Docking bay 81-B."
Siaxx laughed softly. "Well... I know you have a lot of energy right now... or you can try giving me some hand to hand combat training." she paused. "the training would be useful."
"I don' train in martial arts. I train in mixed-form self-defense, mixed with parkour," Phoenix spoke appraisingly. "Not sure you got the upper body for parkour training."
"Mmmm... what is parkour?" she inquired.
"It is defined by the art of flowing, constant momentum though that grossly underscores what it is," Phoenix explained gently and flexed her muscular biceps to Siaxx. "You have to be able to climb, jump, vault, and run in a continuous state of movement, and lightning speeds. And that puts a lot of demand on the upper body."
"Sounds like Torilla's combat training routine..." Siaxx commented. "She's more deadly with a bo then most with a phaser." she then paused a moment. "I think you're right though.... not for me."
"I use parkour to outrun opponents into the ground. And then I beat 'em to a pulp," Phoenix shrugged.
Siaxx nodded. "I prefer to shoot them." with that she smiled. "then there is Torilla, she prefers to beat them while using the powers of her mind."
"She's only dangerous to an unprepared or untrained mind," Phoenix informed Siaxx. "Granted I'm way out of training in that regard, but in order to evade conscious, telepathic invasions, non telepaths in my old spec force unit learned to discipline our minds to think constantly on one thought. Creates a bit of white noise that can exhaust the enemy telepath to the point of giving up, if you've a strong enough mind."
"Torilla and I go way back.... you need not worry about her." Siaxx explained with a smile. "Hell... I think she likes you on principle."
"In a place where I try not to be liked by the masses, I don' get her infatuation with my unbecoming behavior," Phoenix shrugged in bafflement. "Would of been a full colonel by now if I cared about rank and social standing."
"Torilla is actually quite simple when you figure her out, her family comes before her career and that's why she's only a Lt Commander... if she did what her husband did, she'd probably have her own flag by now." Siaxx explained.
"When I was a teenager I use ta paint an' draw. It was my whole life, really. Don' really paint no more now though," Phoenix nodded in understanding.
"Can you still paint and draw?" she inquired.
"Draw? Sure. But I don' have much inspiration to be creative. More or less, the only time I used my talent was when my former wing commander let us paint our fighters durin' the war," Phoenix snickered. "Wanna guess what my fighter looked like?"
She paused. "A Raptor or a Firebird." she commented. "Maybe you should consider getting that old hobby back.... I'd like see you paint sometime..." she commented.
"I'd try ta paint ya in your naked glory... But I don' think you'd enjoy laying on a piece of furniture for six hours," Phoenix snickered in a joking manner. In all truth, Phoenix was not sure if she could paint anything.
"It can be arranged" Siaxx responded evenly. "remaining motionless might be an issue however."
"Motionless is a requirement for nude art models, Goddess," Phoenix teased.
"Like I said. something can be arranged." Siaxx responded in the same tone.
"What are you up to?" Phoenix grinned as she tried to look deeply into Siaxx's eyes.
"Considering how best to distract you until your family arrives... you're nervous and telling you to relax would be pointless....so ideas?" the Bolian inquired.
Phoenix had one. And seemed to of forgotten her need of secrecy when she leaned in and began to kiss passionately on Siaxx.
Siaxx didn't mind in the least as she returned Phoenix's kisses with her own, as a few people noticed but most carried on.
A moment or so later, Torilla walked by as she turned her head to see Siaxx and Phoenix making out, a smile spread across her face as she continued walking.
