Fives chuckled softly. "Do you have any boyfriends who are generally allergic to men such as myself getting to know the ladies around here...." he did not wish a repeat of what happened between him and Torilla Yamaguchi because he had asked her out on a date and she said no because she was married, she had let him down easily but the reminder was always there. "So... will I live?" he added as he joked with her. "or will I need surgery?"
"Do I... oh no, no I don't," she answered. She was trying to compose herself and failing miserably as her warm face betrayed her. He held her eyes with his own and she felt her body responding to him as she slowly smiled. Reluctantly she turned her head, then turned back to him and grinned.
"We should probably start your physical now," she said softly.
"Sounds good..." he responded, noting her reactions to his actions. "When does your shift end.... I'll drop by and we can share a cup of coffee.."
"Sixteen hundred," she answered. She walked over to the terminal and picked up a PADD, typing as she walked back. "You are due for your annual physical as well as your station clearance. Please, have a seat," she said motioning towards the biobed. "Are you in any pain today?" she asked. The routine of work was helping to bring Tressa back to her usual efficient and professional self.
Fives blinked as he watched her carefully before taking a seat. "No more so then usual." he answered quietly. "I think its muscle strain in both arms... I do workout in the gym a lot as well a spend time swimming and running.." he explained. "I find peace in pain...." he paused but then didn't add to it.
She nodded as she looked at his arms. "Computer, musculoskeletal scans please, cardiovascular overlay and EKG. Fives, will you lie back please?" She waited as he got comfortable, and the bed glowed softly beneath him.
"I like to run too, there's a great program on Holo Two, the Appalachian Trail. I always tell the computer to leave out the bears, though," she said as she watched the results appear.
"Blood pressure eighty-one over one-seventeen, very good. Your triceps are strained, maybe you could skip working out for a few days?" the doctor asked.
"We could try working out together some time?, running or swimming..." he smiled at her. "I'll go swimming instead of pumping iron." as he smiled at her. "I'd imagine you'd look quite fetching in a bathing suit Doctor." he commented evenly with a smile. "Lady with your looks shouldn't always wear that uniform.." he added.
She avoided eye contact this time but couldn't stop herself from blushing again. "You are very kind to say so, Fives, but I think I'd be more comfortable on a run," she said, smiling. Out of habit she looked up and found his light eyes watching her intently. "I... just need to listen to your heart and lungs then do a blood draw, and that will be all." She pulled the tricorder from her pocket and walked over to him, holding it near his chest.
Fives gently slipped off his uniform tunic and then he pulled off his uniform undershirt to reveal a finely toned chest, clearly a product of time in the gym.
"Sure.. " he commented as he sat back and made himself comfortable.
Tressa watched the rhythmic rise and fall of his torso as she moved the tricorder to his heart, careful to keep her eyes on the display. The instrument recorded his heart rate and breathing as she moved it across his chest.
"Everything sounds fine," she said with a smile, then walked over to a drawer and removed a vacutube. "Your arm, please?" she asked softly.
Fives was still looking at her as he lifted his right arm and presented it to her, he waited for her to proceed but most found the idea of needles to be scary or horrifying but clearly it didn't bother him. "So... what job do you have around here Doctor?" he inquired with a smile.
"I've been told I make a really good margarita," she said with a serious look, then she laughed. "You seem quite comfortable being poked and prodded, don't let Starfleet Medical find out or you might be their next guinea pig."
Fives chuckled softly. "So long as its you doing the poking and prodding, I won't complain.... of course it would be unfair to have it all be one sided..."
he gave her a look as a smile appeared on his lips.
She held his gaze with her own this time, her initial shy surprise giving way to her warm, sensual nature. It had been so long since anyone had shown an interest, since Andrew, over two years ago. She was rusty, but no novice.
"That would be unfair," she said with a smile. "We're all done here, for now anyway. You can, ahh," she pointed to his shirts then his bare chest, turning away to give him a bit of privacy and putting the sample next to the PADD. "You are cleared and fit for duty Lieutenant. Fives," she added hastily.
Fives gently plucked his undershirt off of the counter next to him as he slipped it back on. "So... Sixteen hundred then?" he inquired. "and coffee?" he looked at her as he slipped his uniform jacket on.
"Sixteen hundred," she replied. "And cappuccino. Have you ever had it?"
"I have actually.." he smiled at her. "just the regular version I'm afraid... none of the others.."
He was close now, and she found herself looking directly at his shoulders and chest. She tilted her head back to look him in the eyes.
"Well, maybe today will be your lucky day, Lieutenant. See you soon."
Fives smiled back at her. "We shall Lieutenant Commander..." he replied quietly. "Coffee at sixteen hundred... I will be prompt."
