Location: Hospital - Starbase Vanguard
Timeline: 0600Hrs, June 7th, 2393

First Lieutenant Ouros Yamaguchi slowly blinked as she came awake, she let out a soft moan as she sat up only she couldn't.

"Ahh, you're awake. Good." the nurse commented evenly. "Do you need anything?"

"I need a drink." Yamaguchi said in a quiet tone but what came out was a tangled mess of words "Ineedadrunk"

"Right, let me go get the Doctor for you and I'll be back with something to drink in a moment." the young woman in a teal uniform did a quick check on Ouros before she turned and walked away, she returned a moment later with a pitcher and a plastic cup in her hands, a tall and large male officer following behind her. "Hello Ouros, you've been out for close to twelve hours," he explained with a good-natured smile. "How are you feeling?" the man asked of her.

Yamaguchi moaned softly as she slowly sat up. "I feel like crap, honestly." she decided not to beat around the bush, and rather just say what was on her mind. "I..." she narrowed her eyes as she attempted to focus.

The nurse returned a moment later with the drink in hand. "Here you go." she gently slid the plastic cup, which was mostly full of water into the hand of the massive female before her, she gently helped the other woman with drinking it all. "Easy, you've been through a brutal experience so you'll feel out of sorts for a few days."

"How many did I lose?" Yamaguchi inquired, her voice sounded like a croak.

"I don't know. I'm sorry, I was not told." the Nurse answered in an apologetic tone of voice. "I'm sure one of the senior guys will know." the young woman added with a cheery smile. "Can I get you anything else?"

Yamaguchi paused before she sighed. "Is Morg around?" she inquired of the nurse.

"He is." the nurse answered. "I assume you wanna talk to him?" the young female responded.

"I do, that is, if he's not busy with anyone else," Yamaguchi answered in a gentle tone of voice.

The nurse nodded her head slowly. "I'll look into it. If you need anything, ring the buzzer okay?" and with that, the young woman turned and departed the room in silence. Leaving Yamaguchi to her thoughts in silence.

The silence in the room was broken a few moments later as the door wooshed open softly. Morg Wolfsong entered. "Hey. You asked for me?"

"Yeah.." Yamaguchi answered softly. "Being stranded planetside, not an experience I'd care to repeat, I mean... coming face to face with my mortality." the tall, large female commented with a soft sigh. "I mean I have questions unanswered between us and I do not need to go off in some blaze of glory thanks to some asshole marine."

Wolfsong regarded Yamaguchi for a moment in silence, he was fully aware that she was a telepath and quite a formidable one too, she had demonstrated these skills and abilities on more than one occasion as he was part Klingon. He had been raised as human and while he was more random then the average human, he was also more stoic and stable because of a choice he had made in his youth. "Go on. I'm sensing you have a great deal more to say."

Yamaguchi blinked before she turned her head to peer at him. "You read the official report of what happened?"

"I did," Wolfsong answered with a nod. "Doctor Yamaguchi briefed me, I had no idea she was related to you."

"Different branch of the family tree. She's my cousin, a few times removed." Yamaguchi answered with a soft sigh. "But I wasn't thinking of her, I was thinking of you." Yamaguchi then let out a deep breathe, as if she had been holding it.

"You were?" Wolfsong responded. "Considering how our last conversation went, I would hardly expect you to be thinking about me," he commented in a rather nonchalant tone of voice.

Yamaguchi recalled the conversation at hand if one could call it that, it was more of a two-sided screaming match between them both as the large female let out a soft sigh. "I got confused about... about our relationship.," Yamaguchi admitted.

"Then we can work things out later, you need to focus on getting well and healing from being burnt," Wolfsong commented with a gentle smile. "Our issues can wait as they are small and petty."

"I don't get you," Yamaguchi admitted. "I keep expecting stereotypical Klingon and yet, you constantly surprise me." she regarded him with her eyes.

"I am a Klingon but I was raised as human, by humans, they knew full well what kind of fate waited for me, as a child stuck between two worlds so they encouraged me to follow my own path, I decided to follow in their footsteps rather than serve as a walking cliche as what a Klingon living among humans looks like. I am not Captain Worf. It would be a sad error to confuse me with him." Wolfsong added.

"I heard that Captain Worf was always prattling on about being a Klingon warrior despite the fact that he was raised by humans." Yamaguchi paused. "What of you?"

"I was raised in a human orphanage before being taken in by Daniel and Angelique Wolfsong, they raised me as their son, among their other children. While yes, I was a handful. I was also considerate of the fact that I was not like them. I was different but they did not question it, nor did my siblings. To them, I looked cool." he paused. "But you didn't want me to come here to discuss me.."

"No," Yamaguchi answered with a soft, weak sigh. "I can't be what you want me to be Morg. I need to sort out my own issues before I get involved with anyone... I'm sorry."

Wolfsong smiled as he gently placed his hand on top of hers. "We can still remain friends?." he inquired of her. "Right?"

Yamaguchi paused, as a gentle smile appeared on her face. "I'd like that," she responded in a soft tone of voice.

"I might not be able to be your boyfriend... but I can be your friend... and we'll see how it goes.." he paused before he gently rose to his feet. "I'd best head on back to work.."

"Take it easy.. Which I know you won't," Yamaguchi responded before Wolfsong took his leave of her. In some ways, she felt as though a great weight had been lifted from her and in others, she felt terribly guilty for ending a relationship that never truly had a chance to begin. Yamaguchi paused as she drained the last of the contents in her glass before she set the container down, she then picked up a PADD before she called up the novel she had been reading before all this insanity had started and she opted to go back and read.
