Commander Kolar regarded his spouse, he was not leaving until he had said his farewells to her and to their son, he would do so in private. Even though Darmin would be heading off for Starfleet academy in only a handful of months, he was almost fully independent of his parents. Kolar preferred his privacy when it came to such matters between him and his family, this occasion would be no different, he was saying goodbye to his spouse as they were being parted for separate assignments. Darmin was having a meal with several of his friends in Fourteen-Forward which meant Alyssa and Kolar could have some time alone.

Kolar regarded his spouse as she placed the large duffel that her life could be carried in, at the main entrance to their quarters, she had two swords that she would sign out from the armory when she would depart later this afternoon, he could depart a short time after she would. Darmin's bags were already packed and ready to go, he had also informed his parents that his room was cleaned and ready for inspection. Kolar had no reason to doubt his son's word on the subject as he regarded his spouse. "So now, we are to be parted. I was wondering how long it would take for them to finally do so." Kolar commented to his spouse.

"I confess, I didn't think they would do it. Neither of us had expressed much interest in command. I was content to remain in sciences and you liked Intelligence SIGINT work." Temetti answered with a nod of her head. "Let's face it, we've made careers from paperwork, I've made discoveries and helped with other discoveries and you've enjoyed being in the shadows." Temetti paused. "We met when we were Ensigns, we got married, had kids, watched them grow up, leave home, get married and start their own families," she commented. "We've been living and working together for almost thirty years now..."

"I know, we are grandparents and now we're ready for our next challenges. Soon you and I will have our own commands." Kolar answered with a smile on his lips. "The honor to our family name and to our house alone will be worth it. Though I confess I do not wish to be parted from you." Kolar regarded his spouse.

"Nor I, from you," Temetti answered quietly.

"It was inevitable Alyssa," Kolar explained with a soft sigh. "How long will you look after Darmin for?" he inquired of his wife.

"As long as needed. It could be a long time since we meet again." Temetti did not say that she may never see her husband again but that would be giving a voice to her fears and that was something she was simply not prepared to do at this point. "Will you be alright with that.?" she asked of her husband.

"I am if you are," Kolar answered with a nod of his head. "Darmin will be heading off to the academy soon enough, he's already been accepted hasn't he?"

"He has," Temetti commented. "I believe Atish and Mogh are planning for child number three with Atin and Selendis preparing for their children's impending arrival," she commented. "So we're going from two grandchildren to five within the next year..." she smiled at her husband. "Not bad hmm?"

"I have no complaints," Kolar answered with a smile on his lips. "Our house thrives. Even if we are parted... We will endure this, same as we've endured everything else."

"I know, I never said that either of us needed to like it.," Temetti answered quietly as she indicated the bedroom. "We have a little time..." as she gave her husband a rather sultry smile. Kolar smiled as he led his wide back into the bedroom, the door closed behind them both.

An hour or so later, Kolar smiled as he gently held his wife in his arms. "You have the stamina of a Klingon..." as Temetti grinned at her husband. "I've never had any issues with you bedding me... or anywhere else we've gotten into it." Temetti slowly sat up as she was sure she now wore some large bruises and marks from the vigorous sex that she and Kolar often shared. "You are not subtle... At times, you are also not gentle either." Temetti commented.

"Yeah, I am Klingon Alyssa... I don't recall you ever complaining?" Kolar answered bluntly.

Temetti smiled. "You have ruined me for anyone else... Mating with a human for me will be boring now. I expect a certain level of physical activity when I'm having sex." she then shrugged her shoulders in a manner that indicated she did not care about the details. "What?." Temetti asked her husband. "I like it when my husband holds me as he makes me whimper."

"You know the stereotype that says human females are too fragile. You are the exception that proves the rule needs examining more carefully." as he regarded his spouse, she was much sprier than the average human female who was over a half-century of age, considering her husband was much larger and stronger then she was, he had taught her a great deal about what it meant to be a Klingon and she had incorporated much of this into her everyday life.

Temetti slid her lithe form from the bed. "I need to clean off and then get dressed," she commented as Kolar rose to his feet as well. "I will wash your back." and with that, the two went into the bathroom, they knew that this would be their last time for a very long time to come.
