Not Idly do the Leaves of September Fall - Part Two

Posted on Sat Mar 21st, 2020 @ 8:21am by Colonel Lee Antilles & Commander Jackson Antilles & Commodore T'Shaamet 'Runt' Antilles & Fleet Captain Coral 'Icecrown' Yamaguchi-Antilles

Mission: Mission 98: Building Our New Home
Location: Various Locations - USS Kronprinz
Timeline: 1550Hrs - September 13th, 2393

Colonel Lee Antilles regarded his spouse as she finished donning her clothing, a pair of sweatpants and a simple t-shirt, all of which concealed the loof of a Starfleet fleet captain who was off duty, she wished to get as far from duty as she possibly could and she let it be known that the on-duty Commander was to try his best to resolve the issues that inevitably popped up before she was called to the bridge to babysit.

Lee was already showered, changed and dressed. "Do you mind if I call Jackson now?" he commented. "Or wait until after we collect the girls.?"

"Nah, I'll take care of the girls, you go deal with your brother," Coral answered with a nod of her head, her hair was still damp but that was because she had a rather ample mane that went about halfway down her back, but Lee knew she was considering trimming it to something much shorter. He was unsure if it would suit her but he had opted to not argue with her over the matter, he decided it was left for Coral to resolve as she saw fit, he had never bothered her about her personal grooming before and thus, it would not change.

"Okay." Antilles rose to his feet before he went into the main living space, then he turned right and went into the den. He lightly tapped his combadge as he did so. "Antilles to com center, could you contact the... USS Infinity for me, I'd like to talk to their Captain, please... Make it as personal please." he added as he picked up the PADD he had been looking for, otherwise, this call would be more or less a waste of effort. In the days of old, before the military creation act had been passed, he would have been calling the bridge to handle this call and now the duties and workload had been spread out over a lot more personel, thus keeping personel fresh for longer, it also kept the stress levels down and reduced the number of so-called 'black hole commands'. Now the number of those were at an all-time low.

"Stand by sir, placing and routing your call now." came the answer as Antilles tapped the large wall monitor near him, he preferred to stand for these sorts of conversations, some liked to sit like Autumn and Coral but Lee liked standing. Suddenly the display lit up with a Vulcan female sitting down in a chair in her own den at home, she was wearing a spaghetti tank top which showcased a lot of skin, but then T'Shaamet was nursing and Lee knew it made sense for her to be able to remove her shirt when T'Rama was hungry. "Lee, what can I do for you?"

"Hey, T'Shaamet. This is mostly a social call but I wanted to drop you a set of files your way, in case you were thinking of adoption..." Lee decided to come right to the point. "Kosleht and Khalest are demanding but they are good children... But they show signs of PTSD. I think that Klingons tend to go overboard in terms of discipline." he paused, he had more to say but he was unsure of how to mention it.

"We were considering adoption, there are many children who could benefit from living here with us." the small Vulcan female commented. "You seem distressed, say what is on your mind... You will not offend me Lee, you should know better by now."

"I ran into another Klingon child... Who has two siblings, so three in all... Coral and I have our hands full with these two but I thought of you and Jackson... Maybe you two would be able to consider the matter." Lee paused. "Her name is Sarkin... What's ironic about her is that her father was killed in battle by the USS Infinity, I did not ask his name..."

"Interesting, you believe this child is worth the effort?"

"Actually... I do. I asked her if she wished to be adopted by a Vulcan woman, she agreed quickly."

T'Shammet regarded Lee in silence for a moment, as she lowered her head and her voice. "You are aware of my husband's issues and concerns," she explained. "He has post-traumatic stress issues... Mostly avoidance, mood swings and he tends to eat Klingon foods, which I find unusual, and at times, distasteful."

"I am, yes," Lee commented quietly. "I didn't think it was that bad... Should I bother sending you these files?" he inquired of her.

"Yes, please do. I will review them and talk it over with Jackson later." the small-framed Vulcan explained, as a second person appeared behind her, Jackson smiled. "Lee... Hey... How ya been little brother?" Jackson was instantly happy to see his little brother, it showed too.

"I'm doing alright, one day at a time." he paused. "Y'know what I want... the usual..." Lee added with a soft huff. Upon noticing T'Shaamet's odd look, he decided to explain. "The usual: Hundreds of grandchildren, utter domination of known space, and the pleasure of hearing that all my enemies have died in terrible, highly improbable accidents that cannot be connected to me. And you?" he addressed Jackson directly.

Jackson chuckled softly. "The usual..." he answered as he glanced at his spouse. "What of you?" he asked the small Vulcan female.

"For hundreds of grandchildren, you will require me to have over three dozen children..." as she pondered it. "I will see what I can do to accommodate you," she added.

Jackson smiled as Lee gently tapped a few buttons on the PADD in his hand, before he gently plugged the PADD into the wall monitor. "I'm sending the files now."

The small Vulcan female sat forward in her chair. "I'm receiving them. Okay, we'll give these the once over and see what shakes loose."

"Sounds good." Lee answered as he turned his head. "The girls are home... I gotta go." he paused. "It was good seeing you guys."

"You as well Lee," T'Shaamet answered with a gentle smile as Lee terminated the transmission, he then rose to his feet to find himself looking at two young Klingon children. "Hello." Khalest greeted Lee whereas Kosleht simply leaped up into his arms as she hugged him. Lee hugged her back. "School was interesting, many seemed afraid of us..." Khalest explained.

"Its because you are Klingon, the average isn't known for being nice or merciful to anyone... Klingons tend to take what they want, regardless of the cost or consequences."

"Oh..." Kosleht answered. "Sounds... depressing..." she answered quietly as Lee gently set her down on the floor. "Go change and we'll get dinner started."

"What's that dish you introduced us to... The pastiee...Pasty..." Khalest answered.

"The Cornish pasties. You want more of those?"

"They are good." the child answered as Kosleht simply nodded her head in agreement. "Yes, very much so."

"Alright, then that's what we'll have," Lee answered before the two moved into their separate rooms. Lee went over to his spouse, she smiled warmly at him. "Being diplomatic?" she inquired.

"Why not?" Lee answered. "Did they misbehave?"

"The teacher didn't say..." she answered. "So, what's for dinner?"

"Cornish pasties with extra beef." Lee smiled. "With or without gravy?"

"Oh god, with gravy... If we're going to introduce them to British food then let's go all in." Coral answered with a wide smile.
